I, too, don't understand why you're going to a curly specialist, who does dry cuts--and want to tell her to cut your hair wet, thin it (which is a big no-no.) If she has great reviews, discuss your concerns and let her cut your hair.
If you're not going to let her do her thing, don't go and don't spend the money.
