anybody water wash+conditioner only?

Hey All,

I tried no poo years ago and never gave it a fair chance, so it didn't work for me. I'd like to try it again, but this time with water only and then conditioner to condition. I've been using Giovanni shampoo for years (Giovanni is SLS free). I'm wondering if anyone is just using water to cleanse and how it is working for them? How long did your hair stay greasy for?

Thanks!

I've been using low poo for a good 3 years now. Started straight co-washing last month to help combat dry scalp. My hair doesn't appear to be any more oily than with the low poo and I'm careful about avoiding silicones in my products. As far as I'm aware, the conditioner doesn't have any cleansing agents in it at all, so would be similar to water washing in that respect. I've water washed a few times in the past, but it's easier to massage your scalp (very, very important if you're not using a cleanser) clean when your fingers are lubricated with something like no-poo or a lightweight conditioner like the Suave Naturals. I'm using Suave Naturals - Lavender to co-wash and then follow up with DevaCare One Condition as a stronger rinse out conditioner on the length of my hair only.
Hair Properties: 2A/2B, Medium-fine, Normal porosity, Normal elasticity, Medium density
Low Poo: DevaCare, Yes to Cuc's
Rinse Out: DevaCare One Condition, Yes to Cuc's
Cowash: Suave Naturals Lavender, Yes to Carrots Scalp Conditioner
Curl Cream: AG ReCoil, Organix Moroccan Oil Curl Cream
Gel/Mousse: Sweet Curls Elixirs FSG w/ Mag Sulfate added, Sweet Curls Elixirs hard hold gel, DevaCurl Frizz Free Foam, Aquage Uplifting Foam
Protein: Spiral Solutions Protein Spray for daily use

I don't cowash but alternate between low pooing, sulfate washing and water washing. My sulfate shampoo is almost as gentle as my low poo.

I don't have a greasy scalp but suffer from more of a dry, flaky scalp.
Coarse texture, normal-high porosity, normal elasticity (Komaza Care), very weak waves
cleanser: Redken Fresh Curls Shampoo, CJ Daily Fix

rinse out: CJ Beauticurls, CJ A&OO, CJ Smoothing

jellies/creams: Mop C, KCCC, SCE FSG
gels: CJ CQ, BRHG
