I always thought my hair looked like crap, and today I took this pic and I was like O.O does my hair really look like that?! It's not as bad as I thought! My mom looks at me like -___- "I've been telling you that for how long now...?" Well in my defense, I could never see myself from that angle :-[

Thank you! I usually put my products in while still in the shower with my head upside down then I comb it all though before I start scrunching.

I had a hard time dealing with my hair too. I am wearing it naturally for 3 years and i get so much compliment. It takes time to find the right products, but after it is easy to handle
Actually all of you have beautiful hair here

I was a CG all through 2010, got product happy, but now I'm back!

Starting Day (one week after starting product/hair detox) is first photo, the next two are today (first plop/Pixiecurl attempt). I need a haircut badly, but it's already cut way back on the frizz.

I've been on this site for a long time and I feel like it's helped me pin down a routine for my 2b/2c hair. Like, there's so much good advice here on the forums. Being wavy is the best! When I first got here, I really wanted curly hair. But, now I like my own wave pattern pretty well. Last week I dyed it from a really light brown to dark brown. The first picture is from a year ago, the last two are from this week. All of them were from after going sulfate free.

I think what worked for me as far a figuring out a routine was being pretty strictly CG for two or so years, then slowly relaxing on the areas that weren't that important to getting a good result. Like, at this point I've introduced low poos, I scrunch with a terry cloth towel sometimes, I use a silicone product regularly (gasp!), and I occasionally heat style. But for at least the first year I was as CG as can be, and it worked pretty well that way too. I just like trying different methods.

3 month CG. my 3rd day hair just today. I am still trying to figure out the right product etc. recently started to use wet microfiber cloth to plop my hair for 2nd/3rd day hair after reading an article on this forum. I just wet my hair use a palm of water, finger comb the water in a little bit, applied a little leave in, Tresemme flawless curl mousse, plopped for 10 minutes, diffused for another 10 minutes. then i let is dry naturally, scrunch... not too bad.

what do you all do for day2/3 hair?

Rainboe, your hair looks similar to mine... but gorgeous! Wow! I love the root volume and flip thing you've got going on. You're definitely giving me hope for the CG method, which I just got back to after a two year break.

Oh my gosh, thank you so much. I love your hair too, especially how consistent your waves are. like, it actually curls way up near the top of your head, I'm jealous. My hair doesn't really start being wavy until it hits the top of my ear.

My hair isn't naturally super voluminous, so I usually dry it with a middle part, then when it's dry I take some of it and flip it over to make a side part. That way it's kind of going against the way that I dried it, so it gives me a little volume. Also, pineappling gives me a bit of hight too. Then, the poofy thing in front is just because I have shorter bangs so they stick up a bit.

Rainboe, my hair actually *didn't* do that until I switched to Chagrin Valley shampoo bars for my minimal washing. I think the chemicals in store-bought shampoos, even the "good" ones, were weighing it down a lot. I still have the opposite problem, though - my roots/top layers are curly, my ends on the bottom layers like to go limp and almost straight. I'm hoping my haircut on Saturday will fix that - I found my stylist through this forum!

Someday my hair will be long enough to pineapple... Sigh!

I already posted pictures in the before and after cg-thread, but since I'm a "2", this is a good place to post them as well. The pictures are taken this week, after 3 weeks cg, and I've noticed a big change in my hair already! I hope my hair will improve as time goes by and after I learned a lot more!

With a decent hair cut! Before pics are just up the thread, but there's a shaggy limp before attached here, too.
