Can I see your hair?
I am new to the CG method. I am between a 2b/2c/3a I think. I am having a hard time. I realized today as I was looking in the mirror, that my hair looked great. Like, best hair day ever, but I was still unhappy with it. Why? Because it wasn't a classic 3b/c type curl so many aspire to. Then I was reading a thread and I started noticing the avatars of all of you here in the 2's and I realized, TWO is the BEST. You can still straighten your hair without taking HOURS of work, you can have the beach wave look that's so popular, less frizz issues than the 3's...etc.
So, let me see that hair! Please! Convince me to keep going at this.
I wish I had taken a pic of my hair, but I got greedy, rewetted it some, to try and smooth out some problem areas, and ruined it completely.

Having trouble with this ap! The first pic in the red was my first day. 11/5/12.
This pic is from today. I didn't realize the difference so far and was feeling down about the whole process. Looking at them together, I am encouraged.

my hair
I've included a couple of my hair pics. I'm new to the boards and guessing my hair is a 2c? want to grow it out to just past my collarbone but am having a hard time as it's so thick and the curls get pulled down and flat looking! so anyone with good recommendations on products to help me through my current length, it would be greatly appreciated!

I ham having the BEST hair day ever today. I don't know why but my hair never looks as good in pics as it does in real life. I think the highlights make it looks stringy when it's not that stringy.
The only thing I did different today was I quadrupled, yeah, quadrupled my Leave in. I slathered that crap all over all my hair. I watched a youtube video where this girl was doing her routine and she REALLY coated it. I was using maybe a pencil eraser size of con dish after, but today I used prob a quarter sized amount.

what it usually looks like:

This was taken this summer on an uncharacteristically good hair day. I think I used KCCC and GF Pure Clean gel.

After using Tresumee Flawless Curls moosse for the first time as a styler for my WnG and used KCKT as a leave in underneath. This just might be a HG combo. (:

Houseofcurls - my hair used to look a lot like yours, and now my hair leans more toward 3a and spirals a lot more.
Trick - my curls actually looks a lot like yours, curl pattern wise! You complained some about flat top - do you clip the roots at all? Or plop?

LoveInBtween - Thanks! It's John Frieda foam lol
Jas - I tried your technnique because I thought your hair looked kind of like mine. I'm a clipping failure, but it's ok. I've accepted that my hair has all textures in one strand (straight roots, wavy crown, spirally ends).
Houseofcurls - I found improvement when I upped my leave-in, too! I use even more than you I think, but I also have longer hair. You shoild fry the Tresemme Naturals for that if you haven't, it's really moisturizing without being too heavy.

Clipping took me a while to figure out. I had a TON of failures with it in the beginning! Lol!
I second the Tresemme Naturals, and I honestly love to LI SM's condish or GVPCB!

Ha! That's what I use! How come by the end if the day my hair is dried out? What can I do to stop that? It barely makes it 6 hours.

I scrunch in some olive oil (just regular EVOO for cooking) over my condotioner after I get out of the shower, maybe that would help?

Tresemme Flawless Curls mousse over Tresemme Naturals Conditioner. Finished with some Tresemme Hairspray. My ends are getting really tangled and dry though...may try some olive oil over my conditioner and before my mousse and hairspray.

Sealing is the only thing I've found to help, and sealing with MO is the only thing I've found that maintains the moisture all day, sometimes into 2nd day, even. (It also holds out high humidity well, which is just as important for me and my high porosity!)
