I have my first devacut appt in about an hour, but I wanted opinions from you guys!
I've only been CG for about 3 weeks, and i'm also doing a very ghetto version right now since I wanted my stylists opinion before I go out and buy products. I have i'm GUESSING medium porosity (hair floats, but I feel bumps with the slip n slide test) medium/high density and fine width. I always say "My hairs are thin, but I have a crap ton of them" the combination seems to make me prone to POOF.
Its also pretty long, bra strap length-ish, maybe a bit longer, with only 1 layer in the back and long layers in the front. Before this haircut I have scheduled today, i'd been cutting my own hair for 5 years. And if you haven't guessed, I ain't no pro
At the moment all i'm using is V05 as a co-wash and a rinse out (alternating between freesia and strawberries n cream), catwalk curl amplifier and la looks sports gel.
I had my best hair day last week, it was bouncy and curly and spirally mixed in with the usual waves (albeit not as defined as I'd like em to be). But ever since that day its been WEIRD. flat on top, scalp feels oddly greasy, waves and curls seem limp and frizzy and fall out completely if I touch them too much. I haven't been doing anything different, other than maybe differences in how long I plop or slight differences in how much gel, etc. does anyone have any suggestions on what I may be doing wrong?
Co-wash, and massage my scalp real good! Rinse
flip my hair over, put in RO, scrunch the curls gently
quick rinse with cool water
gentle scrunch with t shirt to remove super drippyness
gel/curl amplifier. (sometimes one then the other, back and forth), scrunch it in gently.
plop. (between 15 minutes to even an hour some days)
air dry or diffuse on medium (pixie curl method)
leave it alone for a while, the SCTC
I'll see if my stylist has any helpful tips for me. I'm half certain I just need to either 1. use a protein or 2. clarify. But any opinions here would help a bunch!
