I'm a fan of the LA looks sports gel, and its 2 or 3 bucks at my grocery store.
I also like the V05 conditioners for co-wash, except that after a while doing that its just too heavy for my fine/dense/fluffy hair, so I have to no-poo or low-poo. I also like the DT and protein treatments from the grocery store which were maybe a buck or two per pack. I've used a few different brands and they were all fine. I can't offer much advice on other stuff though since I'm currently using up my Deva products (which aren't very cheap) and just started experimenting with curl keeper and AG recoil, neither of which i'd call cheap either. I know suave naturals has been mentioned on here a lot.

I use suave naturals coconut conditioner.
$1-$2 at any store.
And tresseme naturals conditioner. $3-5.

The rest is expensive. I use devacurl products, curl keeper, and KCCC.

I got a lot of cheaper product ideas from waterlily716 YouTube channel.
She has some videos about drugstore alternatives which helped me stay in budged , although I am afraid I am becoming a product junkie already :-)

It looks like we have the same properties. My favorite products are in my signature. HETT mousse if my favorite product if I had to pick one. I've tried more expensive brands and always have my best, curliest, hair days with HETT.

I try new products but keep going back to my two faves...

Curl Keeper. It's expensive but I only use a modest amount to lightly coat my wet curls prior to plopping.

Pantene Mousse for curly hair. I lightly scrunch this in when my hair is semi dry. Again, I don't use a ton of product. Just coat my curls. It's cheap but you go through cans fast!

Carmelwaves you seem to have the same hair properties as me. Except mine is only to my ears, but growing out. Are you protein sensitive?
