My hair has thick waves & I don't know if I'm a 2a or 2b?? Help & I don't use leave in products and the top of my hair is always flat. Any tips please help & I don't know what hair products to use because I only use products that don't do animal test. Any suggestions

I agree as well, 2c for sure. In terms of no-animal-testing products, I'd recommend the Aubrey line. I don't know their shampoos, but the honeysuckle rose condish, or the GPB condish (if you love protein), followed by their mandarin magic gel. Gorgeous hair and length, btw!

Ok thank you guys. Now I know what hair type I am I always though I was a 2a thanks & I will for sure be looking into the Audrey line.

Mickeywavy, you and i could be hair twins. I am finding that my hair likes sulfate shampoo. I am using Garnier Smooth and Sleek shampoo and conditioner and L'Oreal Everstyle Smooth and Shine creme as a scrunch in (actually don't have to scrunch as it waves on its own when left alone). Conditioner washing makes my hair too fluffy.

Hi Cubanwavy and yes we are hair twins! I use giovanni shampoo and gel. Also know that I have a hair twin, I wanted to ask you do you use leave in products because I don't and my hair is always frizzy. Have u used the pineapple method because it does not work with my hair. Does it work with your hair?

Hi Mickey! I don't pineapple my hair. It's long enough to drape over my pillow and pretty much stays there while I sleep. Often I ponytail it at night, but use nothing that is elastic. I prefer small banana clips, no longer than about 5 inches total. I found that GVPCB is a really good leave in. I put it in after I squeeze out excess water after washing and conditioning. More recently I have used the L'Oreal Ever Style Smooth and Shine creme, scrunch in the same way as I would the GVPCB. I have found that my hair doesn't do too well with conditioner washing. And, I think my waves like sulfate in shampoo as I have increasing waviness (tighter waves) when I use it. One think I have found is if I really use a load of conditioner after washing, I get much better waves too. I put enough conditioner in to make it really squishy, clip it up, shower, let it down, comb conditioner with wide tooth comb then rinse.

Again, my leave in of choice at this time is the L'Oreal Ever Style Smooth and Shine creme. It does have a cone or two in it, but my shampoo has sulfate, so that covers that.
