Default products to apply to dry hair

Hello, curlies! I'm a 2C and can finally consider my hair "long". I've switched to co-washing every 2-3 days about 6 months ago and started using DevaCurl Ultra Defining gel after my co-wash around that time and I'm LOVING it. I am also avoiding the hair dryer and products with cones. Though I love my hair the day I co-wash, the next day I wake up with a lot of fuzzy frizz. The shape of the curls hold up overnight, but not the shine or smoothness. Any recommendations for a product that I can apply to my dry hair the morning after a co-wash to tame the frizzies?

Welcome! I would love to know this too. My waves/curls do loosen and get messy overnight, which would be fine for me, except for the increased frizz. I tried smoothing some coconut oil over my dry hair today and it worked for a little while, but after an hour or so the frizz just came back.

A couple of things I want to try
- using a sealer between leave-in and gel after co-washing
- something like this spray: Best home made mist/spray

I haven't found anything to add completely dry, but what I do is get my hands really wet and run them over my hair. Then I add a little leave in and smooth a light layer of gel over the canopy. I get good second day hair with this technique but only if I had good day 1 hair

Darn, it can't fix second day hair so it's better than the first? That would be a miracle product!

That's where I am today. Yesterday was frizzy (rain). Today I'm a mess I don't care enough to do anything about it and my husband says my hair still looks better than before I started CG. But it would be nice to find a way to make my second day hair a little less frizzy

I've given up on second day hair (my intense workout schedule makes it extremely difficult anyway), but the only products I've ever been able to apt to dry hair with decent results are:
Deva Set It Free Spray- sprayed into hands and then smoothed, gently raked through and lightly scrunched
CJ CIAB- same technique
CJ CCCC- I mix a very small amount of this with some CIAB an it's definitely my favorite dry hair combo (I use this to tame the inevitable canopy frizz that I get when I use sloppy diffuser technique).

Sometimes my second day turns out better! More clumps. I tend to get those rope curls on second day hair, you know the ones that were three curls that decided to merge? The best leave in for this IMO is as I am leave in. It's too light for a regular leave in for me but works great for refreshing and taming frizz.
