I haven't looked for BRHG but i read that sallys volumax is very similar. I own it but haven't tried it yet. You said you tried it though, not comparable in your opinion?

Am LOVING the Wetline Xtreme gel! It's soft but not slimey and has no protein. Prior to this, my gel of choice (all of last summer) was the Eco Olive Oil.

Hmm, the only place I could find BRHG was target a few years ago. Have you checked the online website to see which location you might find it it at (if you have more than one)?

My hair gets weighed down so easily by gels. My waves/curls seem pretty fragile and gel makes my hair less curly. I don't have fine hair so I don't know what the problem is. When I use mousse, I get stringy curls. Recently I purchased The Extra Body gel from Paul Mitchell and my hair seems to do pretty well with it, better than I have experienced with other gels.

JenWavy - what is the consistency of the PM gel? Thick/thin? I am looking for a gel with great hold and a thinner consistency.

Hi chupie It's very easy to put gel into dry hair all u need to do & with whatever gel is just pour about a quarter amount or any amount depends how long or thick your hair is. And pretty much rub it into both hands and just like lather it from close to your roots to the bottom of your hair. But don't comb it thru and you can scrunch it in if you want but I don't really. I hoped this helped

Ok you can get it to lather? Any time I've tried gel in dry hair it's too sticky.

It's considered a thickening gel but I don't find it to be too thick. Maybe medium thickness? It's not sticky and it distributes easily through my hair. It has a really strong hold so at first I found I was using too much of it. I don't need to use much of it at all. It will get crunchy if you use too much but it can be scrunched out and it doesn't flake in my hair. It contains silicones but they are of the PEG type so I don't have a problem with them. I don't use products with regular silicones.

I use LA Looks Nutra curl. It's pretty crunchy while it's drying, but it gets fairly soft after SOTC. What it does for my curls is amazing. From brown brillo pad to straight-up 2C spirals.

I don't have anything to compare it to, though--I'm new at CG and hadn't used gel for about 20 years before last month.

For the last few months I have used GF S&S LI and GVP sculpting liquid. I have no frizz at all. The GF does have cone/s but doesn't bother my hair. I shampoo once of twice a week with a very mild sulfate shampoo and have no problems. My waves have been getting tighter. I can't stand the crunch a gel causes.

I use La Bella Lots of Curls. By itself, it usually makes my hair pretty frizzy, so I usually use a LI conditioner on my hair first, then apply a little FOTE AVG and then a little of the La Bella. It seems like the perfect combination. It doesn't make my hair super frizzy, but at the same time, the combination of gels doesn't make my hair crunchy either. Maybe you should try this! It's all about experimenting with you hair!

I'm with Chupie on this! I can't add anything to dry hair other than a spritz of water or something very light like Botaniical Boost. Gel on dry hair is a mess for me! I use the blue LA Sport gel and that usually gives me 3 and 4 day hair. I spritz water and scrunch once in a while to redefine on day 3 or 4 but not always.
