I wanted to posted this for other 2B's thinking of going super short. If you are on the fence, DO IT. I love having short hair. It's so easy. My hair reference (Carrie Mulligan), as well as myself, are attached.

Products: Chagrin Valley shampoo bar and coconut oil as leave in conditioner/styler.:tongue7:

Cute! I agree, wavy, short hair can look good with little effort because we already have that natural texture for a "tousled" look.

So cute. I always wanted that but mine is straight with flips when short :(

def. folks shouldn't be worried about cutting their hair short, if they feel so inspired. :-)

Please share how you style it! Products, technique, etc. would be appreciated :)

Yes, please! I'm a 2b who cut my hair about as short as yours a couple of months ago. I love it! But still experimenting...

I either style it one of two ways, depending on how I'm feeling. If I'm feeling like I want straight hair, after I'm done shampooing and still have wet hair, I part my hair, use a wide tooth comb to spread coconut oil in it and then sleep with a knit cap all night. The knit cap keeps my hair close to my head and my hair dries pretty straight.

If I want my hair to dry with waves (like in the picture), after I'm done shampooing and when my hair is still wet, I part my hair with a wide tooth comb and use the comb to spread a little bit of gel into my hair. Then, I scrunch the front longer piece to create a wave and the front shorter piece. For the sides and back, I scrunch and touse (mostly touse).

Cool! Thanks for posting your pics, sfaithj!

I want to cut mine again, but I'm afraid with my loose wave, mine would look straight...if you have a minute, would you mind posting pics of how yours looked longer, for comparison?

sure thing! keep in mind, my hair only does this nice wavy look when i style it correctly. when i dont style it correctly, it looks straight with a flip up (which i hate!) a la farrah fawcett.

Awesome, thanks so much! It's beautiful both ways, but I think your new cut is super-flattering.

It is as I suspected--yours is wavier than mine, especially at the roots. :) I bet I would be a straighty at that length. (Or a mostly-straighty with an unfortunate flip here and there, as you mention)

Here are more examples of my hair when it's longer and my hair when it's short:
