Diffusing Question

So... I've been trying to diffuse my hair with the pixie method but I have a hard time getting all of my wave clump to go inside of the diffuser. Instead parts of them will stick out the side of the diffuser and not get dry. It's like my hair is stiff and won't bend properly as I put the diffuser up to my scalp and as a result some of my waves tend to straighten out as I diffuse. Any tips?
Are you drying it in sections? That's what I do. Have a look on You Tube for a semo.

Try smaller clumps of hair and/ or a larger bowl diffuser. I tip my head upside down or to one side, then loosely grasp a clump close to the roots with thumb and first finger in a circle then catch that clump with the diffuser bowl.
