Lots of hair fell out in shower?

Today was my second hair co-wash since starting CG method ... Last was two days ago. I noticed TONS of hair came out in the shower ... more than usual. I tried to reason that it's because I'm not brushing or styling as much outside of the shower and so all the hair from the past two days that typically would fall out everywhere is coming out now ... but it was a LOT!!!

Is that a sign that my technique is bad or a product isn't working?
Well that's usually exactly why. People really panic about this but it's normal to lose 150 hairs a DAY. When you aren't combing and brushing your hair several times a day and for some people not doing it at all its going to come out I the wash so to speak.

Glad you said this but granny doesn't believe this a all. She only washes her hair once every 6 weeks maybe. Sometimes longer. She freaks out when she sees a huge glob of hair in the shower when she washes her hair. But she doesn't understand normal hair loss & freaks out.
::shrug:: most people don't experience increased shedding with cowashing. I certainly do. I don't normally cowash but I tried it again a week ago or so. For whatever reason, more shower shedding again. I'm not sure what it's related to. I wouldn't sweat it though. CG permits low-pooing, a mixture of cowashing and low-pooing, cowashing the lengths while low-pooing the scalp etc.

I notice I lose huge amounts of hair if I use anything wheat in my hair. Otherwise I only lose a "normal" amount. I'm gluten sensitive though, so you may just be sensitive to an ingredient.
I feel like I'm constantly shedding but mostly I think I just notice it more because 1) I'm paying attention now and 2) my hair is so much longer its way more noticeable.

My hair is longggggg and black...I definitely notice shedding, I find hair everywhere! I think is mostly to do with not brushing everyday now, all the she'd hairs get caught up in the curls and whatnot
Mixture of 2c/3a curls, fine to med texture

PROTEIN LOVER!!!

Wishing my hair would be more like this ------>
and less like this --------->
Whenever I have a stressful week, the next week or so I lose more hair and I notice it in when I wash-just an idea. It usually grows back in after though.
2c wavy with some twirls
Porosity mixed,(damaged) fine medium density, highlights
KC line, still exploring
Homemade whipped shea/coconut/almond conditioner
I stopped co- washing when I noticed excessive shedding, and my hair began to thin. Ever since I stopped I don't shed excessively anymore. (Shrugs) lol. It could be your technique, but even when I co washed I didnt scrub excessively or really at all...:-/ i hope you find the cause of your shedding.
