New and confused!

Hi !
Newbee here. I like to have my hair wavy instead of curly.

Looking at all the great techniques and advice here and trying to figure out the right products to start with. I have fine, dry, frizzy hair. Just discovered with the hair strand floating at top that its low porosity. I started using PEter Thomas Roth shampoo and my hair on the scalp feels soft. However, the ends, as always, are dry ,curly and frizzy like 3B type.
What would be a good silicone free leave in conditioner and deep conditioner for low porosity hair?Have to still figure out the protein sensitivity part
The float test doesn't really work. Does it feel rough of you run your fingers up and down a strand? Do you color? Yes to either if those probably means at least some of your hair is porous. People usually have mixed porosity anyway.

What so you currently use besides the shampoo? Have you read about the curly girl method?
2a medium porous, You can see my wavy tutorials here: and my wavy blog is The Wavy Nation
As chupie said, I would look into the CG method. Try buying Lorraine's book from Amazon (only a few pound) and that will explain A LOT and really help you out.

Don't forget to cut out sulfates though - that's the most important step, really.
Using a deep conditioner once per week is good. As for a conditioner without silicones, a lot of curlies are mixed on this. Some prefer to use them, some prefer not to. No silicones is best if you co-wash (as they can cause build-up), but if you're a low-poo girl then you don't need to fear silicones as much.

If you're looking to elongate your curls, so they appear more wavy, then a good gel will do that - I just recently had this experience with the Argon Oil Ecostyler gel. It lengthened my curls quite a bit (which, personally, I wasn't a fan of). You may want to try it out, if that's what you're looking for though!
