Just starting CG

Hi All! I have just started using the CG method again. Today I did one last shampoo, then a co-wash, then condition. After I got out, I used some IOS Bounce cream then scrunched in some LA looks gel. I have found that if I rake the products in it breaks up my waves too much. I get better clumps if I just scrunch, but then it tends to look kind of tangly. Does any one else experience this? If so how do you apply product? Thank you!

P.S. My avatar was taken just now. Product is in and it is in the process of air drying.
I rake the products through my hair thoroughly and then give my hair a shake and scrunch. That way the product is evenly distributed by the raking and then clumps nicely from the scrunching

Aiming for WL curls (eventually)
I wide comb in the shower but if you need reclumping then take a little water in your hand and scrunch it in. Kind of modified super soaker method.

Looking to find an answer to this also, so will be following this thread, my hair is short and tend to get stringy on the sides, not the look I want.

Still playing with products ( using mostly Deva right now)

Working on finding my inner curl.
Search the techniques link for "scrunch and pump"; saved my hair!

It sounds like you may need more water in your hair. A modified super soaker, like Chupie said, will probably really help with the tangles you are seeing in your hair from product application.

My hair loves protein, plopping, and diffusing! Trying to find a way to style and air dry.
Yay!!! I will try the modified super soaker method. My sides are also stringy & won't hold a curl. I hope this will help my sides.
Thank you for the tips! I did get good results putting my product in soaking wet last night and I am reading up on the super soaker method. The other issue I am having is my hair looks good wet, but gets pretty frizzy when it is dry. Since I am new to this I am not sure if I am under conditioned, over conditioned, or if my hair just doesn't like protein. (turns out all the styling products I am using have protien) Any suggestions on how to narrow down what is causing the frizz? Here is a pic of my hair today. Thank you again!

If the dews are low where you are and the leave in or stylers you're using have humectants (glycerin, propylene glycol, and others), they may be pulling moisture out of your hair and causing frizz.

Thank you for the info about the dew points! I am going to look up what it is in my area. I have read a lot of good things about the FSG and I am looking forward to trying to make some! I tried the super soaker method last night and it is awesome! Way more clumps than little stringy pieces. It is going to take a little more trial and error, but I am on my way to great hair. Thank you all for your help!
