Recs for lightweight conditioner

Not sure if you're still on the hunt, but in preparation for running out of my dwindling stash of the old Tresemme Naturals formula, I've found Suave Naturals Everlasting Sunshine and Daily Clarifying conditioners to work for my protein sensitive hair.

For me, the absence of aloe and humectants is crucial (no polyquats either!) so these are both in the running so far. They're both too light for my hair, so I mix in oil before using.... obviously that would not be a step you'd take! =)

I like Yes to Carrots and Giovanni Direct. Both have worked well for me.

Thanks, Naomilena for chiming in.

RebeccaK I also have protein sensitive hair, so your post is helpful.

Weathercurl, I just tried the Deva NoPoo, since I have that in my stash, and it does seem to leave a film on my hair.

Lots of great suggestions - will be trying some of them! I appreciate all the responses.

2/c and some 3A. Modified CG.
Protein sensitive
Highly porous. Color over grey.
Best 1st day method: Super Soaker
Conditioners: Curl Junkie Beauticurls Strengthening Conditioner,
Deep condish: Curl Junkie Curl Rehab
Stylers: Mix Curls in a Bottle into everything for shine. Terrible pj
Sometimes try roller sets - classic glamor but I prefer my curls.

Curlypearl - Deva products are the worst for me. The low poo and the gels leave my hair coated with a nasty film and limp and frizzy to boot. I get better results from Suave products or some of the other less expensive lines. Simple is best for me. My hair doesn't like Shea butter, Ceytl esters, and many polyquats.

I'm not sure if you can find Elucence on ground, but I liked the moisture balancing conditioner. Pretty lightweight and citrusy.
Coarse texture, normal-high porosity, normal elasticity (Komaza Care), very weak waves
cleanser: Redken Fresh Curls Shampoo, CJ Daily Fix

rinse out: GVP Conditioning Balm, CJ Repair Me, CJ Smoothing

jellies/creams: CR Curl Maker, KCCC, UFD Curly Magic
gels: CJ CQ, BRHG

Asianrunner, I think I've seen it sold at Ricky's which is right near me. Another good suggestion!

curlypearl, you are a lucky curly to have those products on ground!

Hi RBB, I love cj products but I've never tried the leave-in. I'll have to make sure it doesn't have protein. Thanks for the rec!

Are you looking for an RO or LI or both? Giovanni Direct Leave-in and KCKT are both lightweight!
2BC/f/II. fine - low/normal porosity - medium density - normal elasticity.

Currently using:
Cowash: Cure Care diluted with water 1:1
RO: Cure Care, V05 Kiwi Lime
Styler: UFD CM (old formula), FSG + CNPF
PT: IAgirl's gelatine

Experimenting with: CeraVe Foaming as low-poo, gelatin gel

light moisture, hydrolized protein, jelly stylers
guar hydroxypropyltrimonium chloride, sulfates
Neutral on cones.

CG, my hair gets stiff when I use protein. I am just trying to do lots of moisturizing conditioner now and roller sets. When possible, I let it air dry because I agree, the heat causes damage to my curls, particularly because I color my hair.

Wavydaze, thanks for the recommendation. Giovanni is available all over so that is a plus.

Weathercurl, I'm not satisfied with the Deva products so I'm going to switch. Thanks for your input~

I am looking for a rinse out. Got lots of good recs here. Thanks everyone!

Thanks for posting this CP! I was about to ask the same thing. I have a heck of a time finding lightweight conditioners in the summer that are NOT protein-heavy. I'd also like to find things readily available on the ground. Most of the boutique type conditioners are, as a general rule, just too heavy for my hair in the summer.

Nice question, cp. Thanks! And thanks for all of the product recs.

Hi CG, didn't ignore your 2nd question, just didn't really understand it. I've used Curl Junkie Curl Rehab, also CJ Beauticurls, also something I can't remember but very well known on this website. I've also used styling products with protein mostly from Christo's salon (curlisto products).

My haur is coarse so that is another reason protein might not be great for me, but I think the main problem is that I dye my hair and use too much heat. My curls are just not happy!
