Since we are wavies...

How many 2's do no-poo routine? And if so, how do you pull it off?

For the last few days I've been using Low-poo daily, with Curlisto daily conditioning. My hair LOVES it. The low-poo is perfect for me-not too little cleansing, not too much. Just right. It gets off the dirt and oils from the day before, but does not dry out my hair. LOVE it.

I've tried no-poo-ing before and my hair is just way too fine for that. AND it is very thick- so what I got was really gunky "underneath" hair that felt and looked GROSS.

Soooo, if you are wavy and no-poo works for you, what are you doing and what type 2 are you? I would still perhaps consider this during the winter months when the weather is dryer.

It sounds like the low poo routine is working well for your hair. My hair is also fine, but very thick. I get weighed down and overconditioned easily so some days I just wash with water only, scrubbing my scalp very well and then flip over and scrub the scalp again on the underneath. Then I use a rinse-out conditioner and rinse it out thoroughly. On the days I do co-wash, I do the same thing. I try to use a very light conditioner and use no more than I have to. I always have to flip over and scrub the underneath as well. I do still use poo once in awhile, but I'm trying to space it out as far as I can and make sure that the products I'm using are CG friendly so I don't get as much buildup.

When I started lurking around this website last year, I was probably only a 2a, but since my hair has gotten longer and I've been treating it better, I'm more of a 3a now. It's gotten a LOT curlier.

Good luck!

If the low-poo is working well for you that's great!! As long as your hair looks and feels healthy, keep doing what you're doing.

I use a clarifying poo (Suave) once or twice a week depending on what stylers I've used. I am going to try Jessicurl's HCC next time she has a free shipping offer as I'm going to restock on a couple of other stuff from her.

I've got thin/fine hair and luckily "washing" with conditioner seems to work okay on my hair.

No poo worked great on my hair until I moved. I personally think water quality has a huge impact on wheather or not CO washing will work for your hair. The hard water in my current town leaves CO washed hair gunky after about a week (thus my weeklyish shampoo) but I went months on CO in my last city.
Fine Wavy (2a)
Weeklyish shampoo with CO's inbetween to keep down the grease.
