Default Ironic?

I got the CG book! Yay!! I haven't started the routine with conditioner-washing yet, but I have been styling my hair according to the suggestions in the book. My waves have been looking a lot better now that I don't comb them, forcing them to be psuedo-straight. Simply scrunching with gel and a t-shirt (instead of a towel) works great! I still have a little frizz, but I'm hoping that will decrease from the CG method when I start it.

I've been using the Bed Head Control Freak Serum as my gel, and it defines my waves well. The ironic thing is, the Bed Head Control Freak Serum is labeled as a "Frizz Control and Straighter". :P

Has anyone else had good luck with the Bed Head Control Freak Serum?

I haven't tried that product but just keep an eye out for build up if you decide to go full CG. It does have two silicones and two polyquats. Both silicones are water soluble but I find that amodimethicone builds up quickly on my hair and it's pretty close to the top of the ingredients list.

Glad you're having good luck though.

I have this serum and there is no amodimethicone anywhere on the ingredients list at all.

Whoops, that was the conditioner!

I'd still be kinda careful with the two water-soluble dimethicones and a polyquat that high in the list but that's just me.

I just realized I used to use this stuff years and years ago. I straightened with it though. :P

Oh, okay - I'm glad there was no overnight ingreds change.

And back when I first decided, "hey, putting down that brush just might be crazy enough to work," I scrunched this into my hair instead of using it for straightening purposes...that was way back in Freshman year, which happened to be followed by another year or two of the evil straightening and brushing, but anyway, I seem to remember it working well. Maybe I should try it again sometime. So yeah, it's not like it has mondo hold but it fights frizz and is pretty darn good for curly styles.

Gotta love the irony!

It doesn't totally eliminate frizz for me, but it has enough hold and feels clean on the hair. It was pretty dear at $15, so I probably won't buy it again after I use up the bottle. I don't regret trying it, though. :P
