Can you get 2nd day hair?

Do you have to wet or wash your hair everyday or can you still get nice, wavy hair the day after washing?

I'm not used to washing (or CO washing) my hair everyday. Before deciding to try styling it curly, I'd wash 2-3 times a week. Now, I wash every other day but the 2nd day is awful. I wake up with messy wavy hair, almost straight in back. I've tried a refresher spray, spraying with water...Lately I end up just combing it out on the second day which doesn't look much better.

Overall my hair just always seems to look messy. But that is probably a common complaint from wavies.
Since I started the CG routine about a week ago I have found that I have to at least wet my hair in the shower every day. I've washed with baby shampoo once and CO washed about 4 times, which I have read is a little much. But I just can't get good 2nd day hair either!

Sometimes I can get second day hair, but it's really frustrating. I find that some of my hair looks even better the second day, but the top part gets frizzy and ruins the look of the pretty curls on the bottom.
I can usually get pretty good day 2 hair, but my biggest prob is the frizz on top too. I mixed up some spray gel that seems to do pretty good, however not great.

I can get usually get passable 2nd day hair suitable for most situations (school, regular everyday activities, etc) but definitely not semi-special occasion hair. If I have anything remotely important to look decent for, I hafta plan ahead. :P

I do pretty well. I pineapple and the use homemade spray. I have learned that I can expect 2C/3a on the first day and more like 2B on the second, but I'm ok with that.

Of course as soon as I accepted that, I actually managed to *accidentally* get my hair to curl almost all the way up! Figures. I wish that would apply to a few other parts of my life! LOL

I can't pineapple for crap. :P Putting my hair up pulls the curl out. Besides, I move around too much at night to make it work and I ofen sleep propped waaay up (sinus issues) so I can't spread my hair above me and out of the way.
You seem to have a similar wave pattern but much thicker hair than me so maybe that's why your hair can take it and mine can't. :P

Fine Wavy (2a)
Weeklyish shampoo with CO's inbetween to keep down the grease.

I'm not sure if the halp pulled through pony would make my ends stick out though. Hmm...

I'm resigned to the fact that if I don't wet my hair, period, I look almost like I have straight hair. If I don't style my hair, the waves there can and do fall out and I'll have a nearly straight style.
fine, wavy hair with lazy waves. Sometimes lanky spiral curls underneath when the weath is very humid. My waves are capricious like me! Presently using Burt's Bees condish, FOTE AVG with honey or Mop Top gel.
I've read in other posts that sleeping on a satin pillowcase makes a big difference in gettitng 2nd day hair. I need to give that a try! Yesterday I didn't use any gel, just left a little conditioner in. Today I was able to spray with lavender water and it looks pretty good for 2nd day hair, despite sleeping on a cotton pillowcase.

I pretty much either have to wet it, or do something else with my hair.. updo, brush it out and put in ponytail, or pigtail braids.
