Curl Keeper users ..
I just got my Elucence (love it!) and Curl Keeper this past Saturday. I'm trying to figure out how much CK to use under gel. So far I've tried these combos over a leave-in:
*a little under GF XXL Volume Gel (liked it)
*alot under Aura Hypo Gel (way too frizzy)
*medium amount under GF again (not as good as the first time)
I'm going to try it under some other gels I have, but it's appearing that I just need to use a little.
How much do any of you use?

I use about a quarter sized blob of CK, rub it together in my palms, then apply as if I'm pulling my hair back into a ponytail. Then I use about a dime sized blob of Abba Weightless gel & apply it the same way. I then comb both through with a wide tooth comb (right side up, then upside down), then take another nickel/quarter sized blob of CK & scrunch into the length of my hair while still upside down. I will usually scrunch more gel into my hair, too, until I get that "squishy" sound

Re: Curl Keeper users ..
I love my EMB for a leave-in; and so does my hair :couple:couple.gif
Well, you have seen the length and how much hair I have so adjust your product use accordingly or not if our hair is similar in quanity.
When I use CK (currently loving Jessicurl stuff) I use about a quarter size puddle on wet hair right out of the shower after I have gently squeezed excess water out of it and put in a dime size amount of EMB. I then would follow with a nickel size amount Re:coil. After letting my hair airdry for awhile and defusing my roots on the cool setting I mix a nickel size amount of B&A gel and a pea size amount of coconut oil and scrunch that into my damp hair (not near the scalp). Go to work and scrunch out the crunch with my little microfiber towel. As always refresh with Awe spray when or if I need to.

Thanks for your replies, ladies! Today, I tried the CK under HE HDG and it looks pretty good.
kjwavy - I don't know if you saw my post to you on another thread, but I wear my hair pretty much like you do. My response was about the bangs - I have to have 'em too! Oh and I know what you mean about that "squishy" sound . I know I have enough product in my hair.
Both you girls have longer hair than me but it sounds like you use less product than I do. It never feels like I have enough in, whether it's condish, oil, gel, etc. I don't know what's up with that.
I love the Elucence and the CK is growing on me .. just wished they both smelled better! I don't like either of the scents sad20gif .
Thanks again for the input

Your welcome
As far as scents go I LOVE Jessicurl Island Fantasy and so does DH
I have been requested to get the bath stuff Can you believe that
Just for kicks try to ease up on the product on a day you can put your hair up if you screw it up ( :P ) and see what happens. I was using too little until Jess of Jessicurl got a hold of me and told me how much to use

LavenderCurls - I started using CK last August & used it pretty regularly throughout the winter, but this spring, it started feeling a bit heavy to me. I was using more at the time, so I cut back on the amount I had been using, & it's working good again for me, esp under the Abba Weightless.
I've been using Jessicurl RR & CCSS over the last couple of days, & I'm really liking that combo now, too. Thanks to Kimberly's suggestion, I mixed the CCSS right into the RR bottle, shaking very well, then using 3 or 4 blobs of that. I had only been using 1/2 that amount before, so I definitely wasn't using enough.
Since my hair gets weighed down so easily, I have to experiment a lot with amounts before I get it so it works for me.
PS - I styled my bangs as usual this morning, but then fluffed them back a bit, so I only have a couple of "bangs" near the sides of my head. I asked my DH this AM what he thought - he likes the bangs better Gotta love him - at least he gives me his honest opinion, LOL

My hubby tells me, too, hence the bangs . I'll ease up on the products and see what happens like you and Kimberly suggested. Oh and Kimberly, I've got bunko tonite, so I'm fixing to touch up my hair with the AWE (I like the smells Jessica uses, too) and microfiber towel. I'll try to let you know tomorrow how if it freshened up okay.
Oh, kjwavy - my son lives in Austin! We live about 30 miles north of Houston, so he's very close . He was in Iraq during the war but is back and going to Austin Community College (the north side). He loves it there!

Wow, thank goodness he's home safely!! I don't know how moms make it through that experience, but thankfully there are wonderful young men willing to do that for us & our country! I'm sure that you are very proud of him
We live in NW Austin, & both of my boys attended ACC. My oldest (24) got a degree in Computer Programming, & my youngest (21) attended the Fire Academy through ACC & is now a paid firefighter. I'm glad your son is loving it

Yes, I'm very proud of him. It was an experience I hope to never go through again! Thankfully, I have a job where I can surf endlessly (hence my many posts here ). I was able to keep up with things here and then would go home and stay glued to the tv until I ended up falling asleep. I got to see him on t.v. a few times as they had an embedded reporter with them from MSNBC. I was never so relieved, or hugged him so hard in his life, as when he got back to Fort Campbell!
Wow, you must be awfully proud of your sons as well! What fabulous and courageous jobs they have Kevin works nights at the airport - he has met lots of celebs during those late hours
See below for my hair results from yesterday ...

Ok ... I tried refreshing with AWE and micofiber towel. Couldn't see a difference at all . Maybe I used too much or too little of the AWE. But my hair was still okay from the day, just wanted to smooth out a little bit of frizz I had on top.
This morning I co-washed with Suave Humectant w/jojoba oil, conditioned with EMB and a little VO5 MM Strawberry to help with the EMB fragrance .
Put a smaller amount of leave-in (used knock-off Potion 9).
Put a nickel size of CK over, same amount under. Then a nickel size of GF XXl Volume Gel under, same amount over. Scrunch, blow dry bangs, add a little more gel to crown.
Diffused upside down 80%.
The bottom looked fine, but it felt like I had nothing in my hair . Don't know if that's a good thing or bad yet (it's 11:30 a.m.). The top looked like it had absolutely nothing on it! I sprayed a little AWE scrunched with towel, ala Kimberly , and it helped.
So, overall, so far, my hair looks okay with less product.
Tomorrow, I'm going to try CK under some mousse. I was curious after reading in the General forum about the gel vs. mousse and how someone uses RR underneath their gel.
The experimentation never ends . I'm going to try to get some pics up so you can see what you think.
It's lunchtime!

I think one of the hardest things, LavenderCurls, is the "not knowing". I'm so glad that you were able to keep up with him via MSNBC & actually got to SEE him on TV - how cool is that!!!
It's amazing how many celebs live here in Austin, so that's neat that your son has actually seen some
For myself personally, I don't think I can use too much of the Awe spray. In fact, I did 2nd day hair this AM using it over the Boots, & it came out curlier than yesterday's hair! I really wanted to take a pic, but of course, I had no time!! I can't wait to see some pics of your hair
