Any wavies use SheaM or Kinky Curly products?

I have thin/fine hair that is wavy and curly. It's color-treated so it's a bit dry. I have samples of SheaM and KCKT, but I'm wondering if they will get too heavy for me. Anyone here have experience with either product? How about KCCC? What did you think?

I think I may be in love with KCCC, but I'm afraid of jinxing it.......2c/3a here.
My hair is also thin, mostly wavy, and very gently color treated- but I have always had very dry hair. I too have been searching for something that won't weight down my hair and pull out the waves/curls I can get naturally. Now, I've only had a few experiences with KCCC and KCKT because I just ordered them and have been trying out different products (read: total PJ ). However, the few times that I've used these products I have had great results. I don't feel that they really weighed my hair down at all, if anything they really encouraged the wave I do have- some products I'm finding are actually ruining any curl/wave I have.... But these two seem to not do that so much. If you can give them a try without having to purchase an entire bottle/tub of them, I'd say go for it. Good luck!
Wurly, fine, thin, moderately to heavily porous. Mod CG.

I LOVE SheaM and am a big fan of KCKT and KCCC. I was surprised that my waves liked the products so much because I thought they were more geared towards the curlies.

Currently, using JC HCC, Too Shea, CK and CCSS, RR or LOOB or MOP-C.
CK is the one!!

as of 6/17/10 - I have to add Joico!

We could learn a lot from crayons; some are sharp, some are pretty, some are dull, some have weird names and each is a different color. But they all have to learn how to live in the same box. ~Anonymous

I had trouble with SheaM and figured it was the jojoba that my hair didn't like, but I also didn't "really work it in" like I've recently read about people doing.

I love the feeling of KT as a rinse out (and leave in, actually), but I've finally accepted that it makes my hair poofy. I haven't figured out why, though. I might try again in the winter.

I had fabulous first time luck with KCCC, but have not been able to replicate. Let me know if you would like a sample, BTW. I want to keep a little to try again in the winter, but I certainly don't need the whole jar that I have!!!

I'm a 2c/3a, and I absolutely love both the SheaM and the KCKT/KCCC. My hair is a combination of fine and coarse but is thick, and runs to the dry side. KC is my go-to combination for a good hair day. SheaM is what I use as leave-in every day I don't use the KC, and still get good results. I also use SheaM as part of my DT.

If you need moisture in your hair, you can't go wrong with these products. They all have a bit of a learning curve, though, so you'll have to play with them to find the right amounts for your hair. HTH.

When I run out of product and get some more money I will jump on the KCKT/KCCC wagon.

I do like the SheaM a lot, but I have thick/course hair so I couldn't tell you what it would do to a thin/fine hair.

I've been using KCKT/KCCC for a week and a half now and am extremely pleased.

My hair is as soft as a chinchilla, shiny, a heck of a lot more wavy and has no halo-frizz to speak of. Even 2nd day hair looks great! With KCCC, I forget I even have anything in my hair, which is amazing considering the great hold it provides. Also, I think, due to the humid summer heat here, a KCKT spritz works better for me or else I start to lose volume. In general, leave-ins haven't worked that well for me, with KCKT being the exception so far.

Oh, added bonus, I can finger through windswept hair with ease. Buh-bye, tangles!
What's working: MOP-C Hydrating Shampoo roots only EOD, Elucence Moisture Balancing conditioner or Biolage Conditioning Balm; style with Innersense Quiet Calm Curl Control, and the AMAZING KCCC!

I've been holding off on the KT because I'm afraid a leave-in will make my hair flat. Has that happened to anyone with KT?

June just came and went, but I'll try to put some new pics on my fotki when I get back from vacation.

ninja dog,

Leave-ins usually flatten my hair too. I make a spritz with KT and it's just the right amount. KT's also great as a rinse-out on days I lo-poo or water-wash (less than a quarter-sized blob), but I lose a bit of volume on my co-wash days, if I don't use my regular conditioner, go figure.

Just wanted to follow up and say that I bought the KC products and have been using them for a couple weeks. Love them! I can't use the Knot Today as a leave-in because it's too moisturizing and leaves my hair a bit flat, but it's great as a rinse-out.

The KCCC is wonderful. I watched MysteryFlavored's demo video and have had pretty good results. The KCCC gives my hair a lot of big, bouncy curls and waves (pictures in my Fotki). I get more surface frizz than I do when I use CK + BRHG, but I don't mind because my hair is so soft. My biggest complaint is that my hair sometimes poufs at the end of the day, but I think it's because I touch my hair so much. The KCCC makes it feel really good. If I can keep my hands out of it, my hair looks good all day.

Oh, and it smells yummy! Like cupcakes. Even DH mentioned (without prompting) that my hair smells good when I use this combo.

Hi all

Does anyone just use Knot Today as a leave in? Ive bought it as a detangler and leave in for my 5 year old (2c very fine tangly hair) but havent tried it yet... I never thought to buy the KKCC

Since this thread started I've jumped on the KC bandwagon. I had about 3 days of greatness. That's about all my hair can handle of anything new. :upset7:

I used it yesterday and my hair felt producty and crappy and I ended up in a pony tail. I think some of that might have to do with One Condition. I don't think that stuff likes my hair for whatever reason.

So, I'm back to 'ol faithful again (SheaM/CK/gel) and will try the KCKT/KCCC again when I get a new conditioner. Don't want to waste it "trying" because it's too expensive.

I haven't tried the One C, but I've read enough stories of people not liking it that I could see how it would be the problem. Especially with the water soluble cone in it (right?).

I noticed I had the best luck with the KC combo on days when I used the Come Clean or another gentle poo. MsGiblet said she had a similar experience, as if they needed a "clean slate" to perform at their best. I know it's not true for everyone, but could be a factor to consider...
