A little advise please

Hi everyone! I have been reading and learning so much and today once again I am going to attempt to go to modified cq. Please bear with me I do have a few questions.
First I am going to shampoo with a clairfying (sp?) shampoo, can not find sauve so going to try herbal essences degunkify (think its new?) has sls but don't see any cones so think it qualifes. Follow with a white vinegar rinse (I have no apple cidar). I have a love hate relationship with jessicurl but not ready to give up so am introducing fote gel before my jessicurl styling products. Does this sound like it may work, of course I realize everyones different. I do have a question I just am not sure about being a "wavie" when its says I may shampoo perhaps once a week does it mean with a sls free shampoo, if so how is that really different then co-ing with conditioner. And I think low-poo means no sodium ls, but a different less harsh type; if thats true what ingredient would I be looking for. I presently have a no-poo avalon organic ylang ylang no sls. Any advise I would truly appreciate I have been reading and reading but still a little confused. Have a great Sunday every one.

As far as using shampoo once a week again only you know your hair and how often you need to fully wash or if you can get away with a spritz on non-wash days. But there is nothing wrong with Co-washing daily even the CG method says that's OK. As far as using shampoo, that's just to degunk a little and you need to use conditioner on your hair 1st then use a little shampoo(w/o sulphates of any kind is best) on your scalp and rinse it together, then condition. On occassion I've taken the shampoo through my whole hair without over-sudsing when needed. Some wavies use a light conditioner to co/wash and then a more rich conditioner as a rinse. Poke around some of the other threads I got some great suggestions on "Any 2C's using CK"

Good Luck! It is confusing and takes quite a bit of experimenting and changing stuff around. I've been at it for over a year and still continue to get advice on products etc.

Thank you so much for the infor. I think my hair is perhaps 2c (really not sure). Definitely not the beautiful curls I am seeing the other ladies have but one thing this forum has taught me is to accept who I am! I am thinking the he degunkify shampoo to start and then perhap wash with avalon no sls shampoo perhaps every 2-3 days (co-wash daily)and go from there. My hair is very fine and usually oily roots, right now I am battling dryness I think from the jessicurl products that is why I am introducing avg into my routine to see if that will enable me to continue to use her products.
Sounds like the Jessicurl might not be right for your hair. Have a search for it but I think I have read about other people having problems with one of the ingredients in it.

After your initial clarifying shampoo you need to use a SLS free shampoo to be CG. Some wavies need to still use a shampoo as their hair gets weighed down. You could try just co-washing and see how it goes.

I have fine 2C/3A hair that used to get oily roots but since doing the CG thing I don't seem to have that problem anymore. I just co-washed for the second day and this morning it doesn't seem oily. I have taken the transition fairly slowly with doing a low-poo wash on alternate days.

The ingredient in the shampoo I use that cleanses is cocamidopropyl betaine. Derived from coconut and my hair loves coconut.
Thanks feralcurls for that ingredient name. I tried the routine and fortunately the strawlike dryness is gone but my curls/waves seem to be weighed down so unfortunately I had to wet this morning to hopefully revive them this morning I used HE BE moouse. I agree the jessicurl may be a problem for me that is why I introduced the avg underneath. After paying for shipping etc I am too cheap to give up on jessicurl yet! I used the jc tooshea conditioner boy is it nice but with the avg and it that may be why I was weighed down. Each day is an adventure!

I totally understand your "cheapness" LOL we've all been there, but at the same token you don't want to compromise what's really best for your hair because you bought something and it didn't work. There's always the swap board, people are always looking for JC stuff but I think it's more the 3's that seem to do well with it not so much the 2's. I find her product too oily and heavy didn't do anything for me after the first 2 times I used it. It left it way too soft and without any definition especially next day, what a mess! So keep us posted and get your pic on here!! And feral curls what is the brand name of that yummy shampoo you're using???
