nothing today except stick it under a pom pom hat.. well it is COLD!
Still love love loving my homemade fsg though. I am getting my mum into co washing she did her first one today and LOVED it. I want her to try my FSG next as she is already in love with the homemade deodorant i gave her. yay.. so fun!
I got a new hair cut too.. less point at the end and more rounded and seems to hang real nice. She cut it dry and sculpted it -- it was a new experience and i think it really is the best way to cut curly hair now i have experienced it.. here is a piccypoo

wow it feels like forever since I posted here!

I am giving smasters method another shot today: I have L'oreal Elive Nutrigloss Masque as a leave in (winter hair saviour!), boots curling creme then plopped and diffused a little before putting my kccc when it was just damp...I have to admit I did think it was all going wrong as there was so much frizz! butttt after somemore diffusing it started to look ok and I have left it to dry the rest of the way. I just need to find a way to dry my hair, I am sooo fed up of having to wait a whole day for it to dry!!!!!

Any suggestions for hair that pretty much never dries??

Nothing! Woo hoo! There are advantages to my hair being straight...2nd day hair is a lot easier (and nicer), and there's no worry of crushing curls or pulling out waves.

Well, I did something right today. I have gorgeous hair. After a week of having straight hair, it was all greasy at the top. I initially was just gonna use my new conditioner as a co-wash and rinse out, and then just gel. Instead, I decided to coat the shaft with Lush Veganese and wash with Curly Wurly, but I wasn't feeling too sure on the Curly Wurly for some reason which I'm normally cool with, even though it has ALS (it had loads of oils and butters and protein and stuff which I think partially redeems the sulfates) so I added a wee bit of my Lloyd's Saltspring Island Organics lo-poo and felt cleaner then. I used the new conditioner, Kogi Naturals (another local-ish company like Lloyd's) all over, let it sit and then detangled and rinsed, then I added a little more just to the lower half of my hair, scrunching it in, and leaving it while I did more shower stuff, and rinsed in cold water (brr). I think I left some in, cos I wasn't fond of the cold water, but that's cool. Anything that was left was basically a LI at that point. I squeezed some water out with my hands, added some Lloyd's Hair and Body Pack (hair and body oil) to my body instead of lotion and then added the BS CCB (sides first, then upside down, scrunched in) and scrunched in a small amount of HEBE and plopped. I'll say, I haven't added gel before plopping in a while. I also didn't super soak, which is amazing considering the great clumps I have. I tried to not fuss with it much, because my part was perfect, straight out of the shower, and somehow managed to stay that way post plop. After I took my plop down, I scrunched in some diluted Curls Goddess Curls Gel (spiked with a tiny bit of BRGH) and diffused...upside down for about 5 minutes and right side up about 5-10. Let it air dry and then SOTC with BS COHS. Amazing. I don't know what it was, but with 2 shampoos, 2 conditioners, 1 styler (2 if you include the conditioner as leave in) and 2 gels, well, it won't be easy to figure out my success. I hope my hair stays awesome overnight while I sleep. If it changes, I hope it only gets more awesome.

I did take pics, but I have to get to bed soon. I have a date with Harry (Potter) in bed, so I should get going and not leave him waiting. Heh heh heh. But I'll either update this thread or my "I chickened out" thread with the pics soon.

So I'm on vacation where they have soft water (as opposed to the hard water we get in TX) but crazy humidity (more so than TX). The upside is that I get less hair loss in the shower but nothing I am doing works. I woke up with pouffy second day hair (which has never happened since I went CG).

My usual regime is not working either. I usually wash my hair, do a modified super soaker method (put my products in soaking wet and then scrunch dry and scrunch in somemore HESMU) but its just so frizzy and pouffy. I'm getting as much frizz as I did pre-CG.

I think I might have to run out to get some protein because it feels like its what I need. Unfortunately where I am right now, CG-friendly products are hard to find..

Yes, I work in retail too. Though in my area, we aren't as busy as some, fir gifts. But...the Boxing Week sales...oh my! It will be standing room only in our store, and pandemonium for 8 hours. Think of Boxing Day like Black Friday, in terms of sales.

And the brush...I really did enjoy scraping my scalp...it was soooo nice. My poor, neglected brush was soo happy for the attention. :P

Got my second deva cut today. For the first time ever I like my hair after the salon styles it! We'll see what happens when I wash and style it myself, but its curlier than it has ever been.

I took a break from styling my second day hair, and it came out nice! I just took it out of the pineapple, fixed my part, and fluffed it. I got nice waves (not as tight as usual, but really nice for straight-outta-the-pineapple hair!) and I'm happy with it. I enjoy a no-fuss second day once in a while.

I followed my usual routine, wash with Alaffia shea & coconut shampoo, rinse and add Alaffia hair lotion, this time used IC gel rather than LA cashmere curls.Sat under the dryer and I have shiny frizz free waves.
The best thing, though, is we've put in a new faucet in the laundry room sink where I wash my hair and it has a great sprayer! I feel like I can really get the water to spray through the hair into the scalp.
If you are not already washing your hair at the sink with a sprayer I'd highly recommend it over washing your hair in the shower.
For some reason I just don't like getting hair products all over myself and I prefer to be fully clothed when doing my hair.
I also got a catcher to set in the sink drain to catch any hair. This will also be so convenient when bathing my dog.
Yesterday I got really nice waves. I scrunched all the water I could possibly get out of my hair. I scrunched in a blob of gel, plopped for an hour, then took it out. I diffused for a minute, added some more gel, and then diffused some more (until my hair was dry). It was really puffy and big and super curly at first, but once it relaxed, it looked so nice, and still curly. YAY, I got nice first day hair for once! So, it got me thinking...what did I do differently that made my first day hair come out so nice? And then I realized that I didn't put FSG in my hair. I was starting to like FSG, too! I don't think I'm gonna give up on it yet -- I just have to use less of it and less of the gel. I think I was putting too much product in my hair, and it would just kind of go flat and not curl that much.

Yay, I'm in for more experiments!

My waves have been sooo misbehaving lately, so for the 1st time since September, I straightened my hair. I must say that the CG products I'm using now are giving me as much softness & shine as the old cones I used to use! Straight hair is an ok nice change, but I'm a wavy at heart!

As soon as I got in the shower the next day, I wet my hair and scrunched it, just for the heck of it. Once I saw my waves starting to form again, I was just thinking, "Now THIS is me!"

Sorry this picture is big, I had a trim at the local beauty school($6!)and she did a nice job. I just told her that the last time I'd had a uniform layered cut and now I'd like a trim. I think my hair is now about 8" all over, root to tip. All of the old color is now trimmed off. Since I am 2c a blunt cut worked well, no fancy texturizing.
Last night we went to a dance party. We saw quite a few people we hadn't seen in a year. I got a number of compliments, including one "hair hug". I'm sure you've had it happen, someone exclaims that they "love" your hair and proceed to muckle on!
My hair did not look so great after that but I didn't have time to fix it, so I just avoided mirrors.
Today I slathered on some Walgreen's biolage knockoff conditioner stuff and let it set for a couple hours, then massaged and rinsed,
Rinsed through 1t baking soda in a tumbler of water, rinsed out, rinsed through 1t ACV in a tumbler of water, rinsed out.
Scrunched in a little Alaffia hair lotion and LA looks Cashmere curls, clipped up the front and watched a movie (1 1/2 hrs) then sat under the "robot" for 10 minutes while it dried the rest of the way. You can see the robot in the background, my Babyliss Pro Ionic hardhat dryer.

Jumping for joy... finally got some Boots Pink...Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhh. Took long enough... Was so desperate that I tried it on my dry hair. Live in cold climate, lotsa snow - right now humidity is climbing as we're getting icy/rain... awful. But have to say - the Boots Pink revived my waves/curls and my hair feels a bit less dry. I washed it yesterday, w/ a low poo and conditioned, used Keristase Curl creme (w/ lotsa water as it has glycerin) and then some cheapo gel and diffused. Slept on it so i really didn't have good curl formation this AM but at least it wasn't dry and fly away (the usual wintery stuff...). Now I have some clumpy, wavy curls going on... Thanx Boots!
