So 2's what did you do to your hair today?

Gekko, is that HETT mousse? Regardless, your hair looks clumpy and shiny!

You were semi-right, those are actually law enforcement patches and I work in the wonderful world of wildlife law enforcement. That's why I said my history Masters will get me nowhere.

My degree was in Biology, 2 classes away from a double major in Chemistry. Yet when I graduated, back to a jail I went due to I could get a job without having to drive 45+ miles to it one way. I decided against med school, it just wasn't what I wanted to do in the end. I would love to go to grad school, but most of the research I'd love to do...is being cut.

As far as what I did with my hair today, I was desperate since my water softener died and isn't to be fixed. Thank GOD I'm moving into a new place. Anyway, due to hard water I forgot about the HSH Choc Soy I had, so I grabbed some Palmer's Coconut shampoo and went to the shower. Oh. My. God. Talk about you need a rich condish afterward. I couldn't have begun to detangle that mess without it. Just rinsing the poo out of my hair was like rinsins shampoo out of a massive cotton ball. Yack. I used GVP CB as a rinse out, then a good dollap of VO5 passionfruit as a LI. Threw in a bunch of FSG, a bunch of FOTE, and SOTC with jojoba oil. Gah my hair is dry after that experience. No joke, my hair is as dry as if I used Prell. And that stuff you could scrub pots with! Overall the hair ain't bad (I moisturized enough!), but it's nothing special. Some S&C before pooing would have probably helped, but I didn't have time today.

On a positive note, I like how springy my hair feels! My softener has been dying for some time, and the water has been getting harder. I suspect I had a little build up. So, I can't wait for Alex's blog to talk about low-poos! Where I'm moving to will be on city water, which is better than what I am on right now, but probably still somewhat hard. And I'm mean I likey my scalp and roots and right now....just not the rest of my hair.

Today was a co-wash day. Then I smoothed in DoC and scrunched in HETT mousse. Not sure what did it, but thumbs down...

Not too much wave definition. I just scrunched it again with wet hands (since I don't have anything else with me). Maybe I should have put a LI under the DoC.

My Mom's retirement party is this afternoon so hopefully I can make it work somewhat since I'm already at work.

I had already planned on doing a PT tonight.

Deep conditioned by spray misting with water, piling on the LOOC, letting it sit for 10 minutes, rinsed out and scrunched in a palmful of a mixture of Garnier triple nutrition conditioner and Dep
Texture sport gel. Sat under the dryer. Great waves, clumps and root lift!
Today I:
  • washed my hair with my sulfate-free, super gentle cleansing cream
  • conditioned with my deep treatment
  • applied my curling jelly
  • diffused till 80% dry
That's it. No leave-in, no hold. Just my curling jelly. I really wanted to see what my hair looked like after the 'poo and the DT.

Last night I showered and tried to sleep with my hair loose and draped over my pillow. In the morning, I rewet it with a spray bottle and diffused. DISASTER. My hair ended up in a ponytail. I may have to give up and turn on Elmo, pour some cheerios on the coffee table and shower in the morning.

used Wen, PM spray gel, teeny bit of hairspray on top (was trying no leave in/and hairspray experiment)

Still frizzy, not AS frizzy, but no hold. Did learn that I don't need curl cremes for curl enhancement, I get ringlets with almost anything -- HOWEVER they melt to waves in 5 mins. I just gotta find something that will hold them.

I would take a pic, but I don't think I could do it fast enough hehe. Seriously, I'm a full on 3a all over lately after diffusing. Then a 2A by the time I walk to the other bathroom. ugh.

Today I water washed, then sprayed in some leave in (I think I could have used more ... I'm kind of frizzy) then layered KCCC under HETT mousse and gel. I sprunched out some extra water with my T-shirt.

I let it hair dry for about 20 minutes, then diffused and SOTC.

I think it looks pretty decent for the first day back at work. I'd take a pic of the back, but I'm stuck with the Macbook camera until I replace my digital.

I have no idea what I do wrong but today and yesterday have both been complete hair faliures
I tried plopping yesterday and I think it took out all my product and I ended up with frizzy, fluffy hair so I ended up putting it in a ponytail.
Today I:
CO with Simple Condish
Rinse Out - Garnier Fructus
Leave in - Simple Condish
Boots curling creme - I raked through damp hair and then combed to distribute well then throughly scrunched
Aloe Vera Gel - Scrunched through two small amounts into my hair after the pink boots

Then I let it airdry not diffuse....and arrrgghhh its a big fluffy mess again especially ontop!!! the top layers are hardly curly and my ends look all stringy and nasty... so i know have it in a messy side bun with the decent tendrils free flowing.

So curlies...do we think its time for a change of product/application method/ haircut ??? I am sick of the flat roots and silly top layers!!!
I accidentally used a sulfate poo last night.
Surprisingly, it looks like it would if I were to use a low poo or shampoo bar.
I didn't have any shampoo bar left because I forgot to take it out when I was cleaning the shower and it got sprayed with cleaner. So I threw it out.
We had some low poo and I thought that is what I grabbed, but, alas, it wasn't. It was one of my sisters shampoo that has sulfates in it.

But I did use conditioner and an ACV rinse afterwards as well as used conditioner for styling, so that is probably why it looks fine.
Cleanser: Liquid Castile Soap diluted in a foaming soap dispenser
Rinse:
ACV rinse
Detangler/Conditioner:
Oyin Handmade Greg Juice or Juices and Berries
Stylers: Botticelli Botanicals Styling Mudd, KCCC, Honey Rinses and BRHG, Crack Leave-in Hair Cream when straightening

Tools: Silk pillowcase, Floursack towels, Jersey T-Shirts, Wide Tooth Comb, Velecta Paramount TGR-VQX Hair Dryer (for when I straighten) and BaByliss PRO Ionic Rollabout Hard Hat Dryer
I did a PT with Nexxus Emergencee last night for 15 minutes, then did a DT with GVP CB for about 15 minutes. I then put in SN Aloe & Water Lily as a LI and let it air dry while I wrapped presents and then went to bed. The conditioner only styling wasn't too bad, but would not last all day.

Since I did all that last night I just got it wet in the shower, scrunched out excess water, smoothed in SN Aloe & Water Lily as LI, smoothed in DoC, scrunched in HESMU. I SOTC when I got to work. Looks pretty good. I'm not sure I like the DoC better than the AOMM. I am going to use the AOMM in place of the DoC tomorrow to see if there is a difference.

Afternoon Update...It has turned into a GREAT hair day. Not sure why, but it got better as the day has gone on. Maybe blowing in the cold wind is good for my hair?

I added pictures.

My mission to shower at night continues...last night I wrapped my wet hair in a silk scarf instead of the bonnet. I got less volume but I also got less frizz - probably because it held my hair in one place instead of floating around. I figured out that I have to turn my head totally upside down when I diffuse in the morning. If I lean over and do both sides, the back looks weird. I'm getting there!

Also, dark_waves, I sent you a PM. You rock. And, I've decided that plopping and air-drying give similar results, at least for my hair at this stage. The back is always 2a-ish, no matter what I do.
