I think I've finally figured out how to incorporate diffusing to really increase the wave in my hair.
I co-washed with Tresemme Naturals Volume (Which, I actually like by the way, I think because it's less moisturizing I can go longer without a low-poo) and when I applied my hair products I flipped my hair completely to the right, then all the way to the left, then upside down. I plopped, and mostly diffused my hair upside-down.
Or, gathered the hair in the strainer as I was upside down, held it to my head, and held my head upright as I blow dried through the strainer. If that makes any sense.
And BAM! Good hair day.
And even though I haven't been getting the best 2nd day hair by putting my hair in a satin sleep cap at night, I'm still going to use it until my satin pillowcases I ordered get here. Just for the sake of keeping my hair healthier. It could be making a difference.

Today I got 2 inches cut off my hair. They combed it straight to cut it and it has dried into a poofy mess. My ends are trying to curl up. It looks much much shorter than it did and will even shorter after I style it. But it also has some good volume. I really hope I like it after it is styled.

The feeling is definitely mutual- your hair is amazing!! I can only dream of that kind of length- I already have problems with my hair getting in the way during karate.

I cowashed with KCKT and detangled my hair with a comb. After that, I left in a lot of KCKT mixed with 3 drops of argan oil. I added KCCC and did the scrunch 'n pump then put my hair in a t-shirt turban for about 20 minutes. I took my hair out of that and then scrunched it some more before air drying. I love the KC products! My hair has never looked better Seriously.

Yesterday I did a mousse experiment. I applied it after my SM Smoothie and before my EcoStyler gel, just like I would my normal curl enhancer (KMFUM). While I was scrunching in a big handful of mousse, I realized why I love my KMFUM so darn much -- it's so nice and grabby and goopy and clump-enhancing!! And my mousse wasn't. After I diffused, I would up getting more of a plasticy, hard hold, but my hair was stringier and somewhat wonky. My 2nd day hair looked somewhere between IWW and horrific, so I just re-wet it and diffused -- no extra product. It dried to a slight crunch. It's actually very soft and curling nicely now! I'm happy now that I finally appeased my interest in mousse -- and I can honestly say that I will only be applying it when I feel like doing something different, I'm not going anywhere until I wash my hair again, and I'm not afraid of my hair coming out a little strange. Mousse always seems to dry to this really plastic-like crunch for me, and I don't really like it. And, I actually think it takes AWAY from my volume!! But, I've only tried two mousses (Aussie Aussome Volume and a CG-friendly sample John Freida mousse, so I don't have much experience. Maybe there's a different mousse out there that I'd like better. )
In the next few days, I'm hoping to make FSG again. I'm trying to get myself psyched up for it, but FSG has always been an utter failure for me. But I've got extra seeds that are haunting me! I'm almost thinking of trying just plain FSG with just protein and/or cornstarch and honey to take a more simple approach, or using it as a curl-enhancer. I just can't stand how stringy I get with it.

I changed things up today. Co-washed with Tresemme Radiant Volume, then scrunched in nickel-sized GF Sleek & Shine. Normally I wait to put in gels, but today I used my FSG (w/Epsom Salt+honey) and scrunch a very liberal amount into soaking hair while in shower & lightly plopped in MF towel while doing makeup. I then added some water back to hair (weird, but helps with clumping). I added more FSG and then a dime amt of BHRG and scrunched in with Tshirt. Diffused 80-90% and the airdry & SOTC & fluff with pic/ light spritz of hairspray. Conclusion: Far more clumping than I am used to - great curl definition. I prefer less clumping, just for a softer look with my fine hair, but it's still a good hair day!

Ponytail -too busy to fuss with hair today, and the front is too short for a ponytail, so I got to test-drive the headband I made. It's really blue, hmm, lousy resolution and lousy color. Took about 15 minutes - if you can crochet, here's the pattern: creativeyarn: Simple Crochet Headband

This AM I put my fsg OVER my mixture of kccc and brhg just as an experiment and discovered that the fsg actually helped better distribute the other products! I have great curls, although a bit frizzy b/c it was hard to SOTC. I think I can use less gel with this method!

As I am working at home and it's raining, today I am hiding my hair under a black fake fur bear ears hat with a pom pom tie closure.
The little ears make me happy.

The fake fur hat with the little ears would make my dog very happy. But no squeaker = maybe only 2 stars. Fun to grab, fun to run around and shake. Fun to chew the ears off...

First attempt at Coconut oil....
I've been posting frequently on this thread, since I seem to be brave and trying new things lately. I tried coconut oil for the first time this morning. I applied a generous amt of the oil on wet hair in the shower and combed through & put on MF tuban & left on for awhile. Then I washed with Giovanni 50/50 and applied nickel amt of Fructis Sleek & Shine for leave-in (I didn't use a rinse-out as I usually do). My hair didn't have the slick silky feel after rinsing out the oil, kind of a gummy feeling?. Into soaking hair, I scrunched in KCCC+GF Pure Clean Gel, then BHRG on top. Diffused. Hair feels weightier, but not greasy looking. Defined curls & more clumping than usual (maybe I went overboard on product though?). Any suggestions on other ways to use the coconut oil? I worry about weight down, so that is why I applied before lo-poo on my first try. My hair is baby fine, but I have alot of it.

This actually wasn't today, but it was a week ago. I just didn't get to post it.
This is after I scrunched the crunch. And I didn't pin up my bangs to make it dry straight like I normally would.

Thank you! My hair feels so much healthier when I don't straighten it, but my boyfriend isn't too crazy about my waves, lol. XD

Great hair day! All thanks to the addition of a little BRHG.
Low (no?) poo'd with Jessicurl HCC. It lathered up a bit so I don't know if it's like a true no poo. First time I've used it! Raked in and combed through some TN. Rinsed upside down.
Scrunched a couple good pumps of UFD CM and plopped. Mixed together a little CJ CQ and BRHG and scrunched in. My clumps separated a bit but I have lots of waves, especially on the last few inches. Guess I should be using the BRHG more often!

Well, somehow I've come to the point where I have two predictable options for 1st and 2nd day hair -- I can put more gel (EcoStyler) in on the first day and have amazing, super curly 1st day hair and weird 2nd day hair. Or, I can put LESS gel in on the 1st day and have less curly first day hair, but have great 2nd day hair, as long as I sort of clip the front up a little, because it gets flat. I'm trying to work out a 2nd day refreshing technique or something that will give me the best of both worlds.
I've also figured out two product lineups that work well for me. I can either use TN as my RO and smooth some SM CES in before my KMFUM and ESK, or I can use GFTN as my RO and skip right over the SM. I REALLY like my SM stuff, but I've been having this weird feeling on my hair when it's dry, and a tangly, coated feeling while it's wet, and I think it was building up on me.
Asianrunner -- you love all my favorite products!!! You are now a TN lover, and you just tried the Jessicurl HCC!! I LOVED the HCC when I got a sample of it! Too cool!
