I took a 6 oz bottle spray leftover from an old product and dumped in 1/4 tsp mag sulfate, a good squirt of a light condish like SN or YTC, a squirt of NPF, and filled it up with distilled water. Shake it before I use it and keep it in the fridge.

Can't decide if it enhances really but it doesn't seem to dry me out too bad.

I used one of my old John Master's Sea Mist bottles (9 oz bottle). I filled it with distilled water, added enough Epsom Salts that they still disappear when I shake the bottle, but not so much that I can see any in there after I shake the bottle. 10 drops of Argan oil, and a couple of squirts of my Marrakesh detangler. I shake well before using.

I think I still like the John Master's Sea Mist better. It works as a curl enhancer and hair spray for me!

Your sig says you're sensitive to Aloe. I think a lot of the Jessicurls products have aloe in them. (I don't have my bottles handy, or I'd check.)

Washed with baking soda, used Salma Hayek's hydrating mask as a RO, then did a final rinse with ACV.

Squished my hair damp with my microfiber towel, sprayed 5 pumps of Marrakesh detangler, added JCRR, then L'Oreal Curl Enhancing mousse, then JCCC mixed with BRHG.

Srunched, add more BRHG, clipped and drove to work.

Awesome hair today! I'll try to get a picture

Thank you both!

Touch.of.ink, yes it's hard to tell the difference in heavy oil frizz and aloe frizz and I think you're right. Jessicurl has both. When it's far enough on the list I don't notice as much because everything seems to have some form of aloe. Are you noticing enhancement from the salt spray?

I am when I use the John Master's Sea Mist. It's only water, sea salt, and lavender oil (but I've never even noticed that it has a lavender smell, so I'm guessing it's just a tiny amount).

That really gives my hair great spirals.

My home made concoction? Not so much. I'm going to tweak the ingredients and see what I can come up with.

ETA: When I say "great spirals" I mean "great spirals for me"

I've been lazy lately and just low pooing with Jessicurl GLS and rinsing out w/ various conditioners: TN, CJ BSC, SC or Curl Rehab. I've also been using my sample of Darcy's Botanicals Cocoa Bean Smoothing cream as a leave-in. I love that it makes my hair feel soft and moisturized but I dislike how it makes my hair super poofy! It does not smooth my hair but encourages it to be big! haha!

Pedaheh, if you want to try a little "nerdy hypoallergenic gel," Free and Clear gel might work for you in winter. http://www.psico.com/products/free_a...r_hair_gel.cfm It's super clump-forming and very thick, but it seems to rinse out quite well - if you rinse well. No humectants or aloe at all and actually quite good hold. You don't need a lot. Ingredients: purified water, VP/VA copolymer, panthenol, PEG-45 palm kernel glycerides, 1,2-hexanediol, PEG-14, acrylates/C10-30 alkyl acrylate crosspolymer, PEG-33, caprylyl glycol, PEG-8 dimethicone, aminomethyl propanol, tetrasodium EDTA
So you actually get 2 PEG-modified emollients and one PEG-cone and 2 hold-providing ingredients. I like it year-round, though I don't always have it "in stock."

Thanks x3 It acts different every day XP

A girl in my english class is a hair dresser and said my ends were very dry. My hair ego got a little bruised =p But I kind of skimped on the moisturizing and upped the gel that day, so maybe that's why. I need to remember that I need to do a re-conditioning after a co-wash with my RO. I'm still of the mindset that I should only use my co-wash/RO condish once XD I ended up going home and scrunching in extra leave-in.

I wanted a trim, so I went to the local beauty school.
This has worked out OK before, but I now realize I have to be very specific.
I always get layers, I must not have realized how different types of layering can be.
The instructor told the student stylist to cut the layers "planar" which means pulled out to the side of the head and cut vertically. On my hair, it left a ridge
where the top layer met the crown hair, also that ridge went straight across, and my lower perimeter
is u shape.
After getting home, I realized how weird my hair felt.
not much had been cut, but the top felt so heavy and
unbalanced.
I thought about how I had it cut before, what worked well. I realized I had to ask for a "Uniform" cut. This means the hair is pulled straight out from the head in all directions, and cut to the same length.
Two days later I went back and explained what I needed, the school had another student recut it, free of charge, again not much was cut off but it feels great and the layers flow very nicely.

I've worn my hair straight for the past week and a half, washing once in between but i straightened it again because I had a busy week, and didnt have time to worry about my hair everyday. Today I went back to wavy, washed with CJDF (which I havent used in a loooong time) did a PT treatment because I also had my hair lightened quite a bit. I added some coconut oil to my RO after the PT, but I'm not sure I really see a difference with the oil added. Plopped, diffused, clipped, and I'm still airdrying the rest of the way. I'm a little frizzy, but we'll see how it turns out when fully dry - which, at the rate its drying now will be around 6pm... and I washed at noon today. sigh...

I have to add pics later, but I just have to say WOW. My dilemma was that I'm going out tonight (leaving in about 5 minutes), but The only time I had to shower and deal with my hair was BEFORE tournament team practice.

After the thread/articles on shampoo, I decided to pull out the Treatment Shampoo since I haven't used it since before I colored my hair. RO was a combo of CJ Repair Me and CJ AO conditioner. Little bit of Cure Care as LI. I've been having great results with the Curls Rock Amplifier and Strong Mousse combo, But I decided to switch it up just a little bit. Added Amplifier first, followed by Curl Keeper, then Strong Mousse (my normal combo is KMS Curling Balm, the Amplifier, then Mousse). Plopped while I got dressed, diffused to about 98-99%. Did not SOTC. At this point, my hair had so much shrinkage that it was barely APL in back (on a normal wash and go day, my hair reaches about BSL when dry). I have never had this kind of shrinkage.

Went to class. Put my hair up in a high ponytail, but left it very loose (used a fabric scrunchy with an elastic band over top to secure it- if I can brag, it was quite the feat of engineering). Sweat for the next hour and a half (to get an idea, tournament team practice begins with a 12-round heavy bag workout). Came home. Added a bit of Suave Dry shampoo to roots, scrunched in a bit more mousse and diffused for about two minutes. Used a combo of CIAB and CJCCCCL to SOTC and smooth frizzies.

Will post pics as soon as I get home- cannot believe how well my hair turned out.

Adding pics!! First pic is before I went to tournament practice, no SOTC. Second pic is after phase two, right before I left last night to go out.

I did get some strange looks at practice last night because the ponytail looked really weird, but it worked, and that was all I cared about.

I took down my ponytail, moved it around with my hands and pulled sides back with Goody combs. No water, no gel, no anything! I'm happy.
