I even found a couple of ringlets hiding under the top layer of my hair =p I might buy some ISO bouncy creme, OR SheaM Styling Milk as a replacement for LALSG for a lighter hair feeling for summer. Not sure.
Getting a haircut tomorrow! The hairdresser said to bring my own shampoo and conditioner to see if her higher-up would let her use it on me. Fingers crossed!

It's super drying for me. It's probably a glycerin thing for me. I have nearly a full tube. I'm probably going to have to try to trade it or give it to someone who might like it.

I'm considering the pure clean cream and the SheaM milk. Before CG I was more of a cream person than a gel person anyway.

Haircut! No more dry split ends! Can't wait to get some coca betaine all up on this puppy to clarify it and then style it myself!

Your cut styled looks so much better than mine does. It looks great!

I low pooed with Giovanni Smooth as Silk, Aubrey Organics GPB rinse out (which my hair drank up; never had that happen before, so I'm wondering if it had anything to do with my haircut), KCKT leave in, then scrunched in UFD Curly Magic (love this stuff), plopped, scrunched in BRHG and diffused. I don't know if it's the haircut or just a good product combination, but I'm loving my hair today. Glad it looked good too because I went to the World Natural Hair Show and I didn't want to have it in a ponytail lol. Pics of my hair below.

I noticed yesterday that my scalp was feeling a little sensitive, probably from over enthusiastic SOTC, so I decided that today would be a low/no product day. Maybe just a co wash and a leave in.
I hopped into the shower and promptly forgot, and washed my hair out of habit. Then I tried my new GVP CB as the conditioner and my new Cure Care (just a little bit) as a leave in.
Then I decided a little mousse was still low product,, so I used some of my new BTZ Noodle Head Tame Your Curls mousse. Then I used a little more. Then I decided I needed some SS Curl Enhancing Jelly. And maybe just a little bit of the SS Firm Hold Gel.
Then, a little diffusing.
A little more SS Firm Hold Gel.
Then we had to leave for breakfast. So much for my low/no product day! Maybe I'll try again tomorrow

Styled the new cut with typical super soaker, plop, & diffuse. Clarified any potential 'cones from the hairdresser with Renpure shampoo. I've found that SOTCing with the co-wash helps with frizz and clumpage.

Chikyuu, your hair looks very good! Curly and bouncy. It looks a lot like the way my hair waves/curls. Lately I use a bit too much product on my hair, since I need to get used to my (newly) cut hair. What products do you use and how much? (I appreciate it if you'll describe amounts by pea/nut size or so, because I don't know about nickel/dime size etc.)

Let me think...
My Low-poo to co-wash ratio right now is about 1-2 or 1-3. I always use my products in sections, and I'm upside down paying attention to scrubbing/finger raking product from/scrunching the scalp and roots for every step.
When low-pooing I use about 4-5 jelly bean sized globs (Two for the length, flipped over the right and left of my head, separately, then one for the crown, and 1-2 for the scalp, scrubbed upside down.) I would use pea-sized globs for my low-poo normally but SheaM is so thick it's impossible, lol.
Co-wash I just liberally apply, finger-raking, to my hair and scalp before I scrub every section, and then scrub while rinsing.
Then maybe... one and a half brazil nuts for both sides of my hair with the RO, finger combed in, upside down, from the roots outward, which is then half-assedly rinsed out for a few seconds under the shower with a few scrunches.
With this sopping dripping wet hair, upside down, I rake in about.... 4-5 jelly beans of my LI, followed by raking in 2-3 jelly beans of gel, then scrunch from roots to tips to make clumps. Then T-shirt #1 scrunches out the water, and T-shirt #2 is for plopping until I'm out of the shower and dressed, 15-ish minutes?
Then using a small mesh kitchen strainer for a makeshift diffuser, I diffuse, again upside-down, with low speed and cool heat for about 5 minutes, then do about a 2 minute once-over with medium heat all over my hair to help tighten the pattern a little. It's only 60-70% dry by the time I'm done and ready for air drying. I SOTC with my co-wash condish either after air-drying, after diffusing if I'm in a hurry, or for touch-ups. (I actually put some co-wash in a travel bottle in my purse...)
Hope that helps!
I saw Aussie Instant Freeze gel and Garnier Pure Clean cream both in wal-mart today, and I'm not sure which one to buy first.... Probably Instant Freeze, since the dew today was like, 23? And it's protein and glycerin free. Ayup.

Tried the icequeen again yesterday. Used re:coil and gel for product, diffused 75% dry because I had to go work at the bar, clipped for added volume up top, then air dried on the way to work. SOTC at work, but I think my hair might not have been quite dry yet because I felt like my hairwas kind of droopy in my face instead of having the volume it normally has. Anywho... this was the result. Had some interesting skinny sausage curls (what should I call those, ropes, whirls?) in various places, like the front and on the undersides. Still think my ends need help, but thinking a trim is in order and will help that. All in all, thought I got good definition and not a lot of frizz and decent clumps. I felt my hair was very "ropey" yesterday. Go compliments too.

Oh, and my photos were taken at about midnight last night too.... It was curlier earlier in the day, but seem to loosen up a bit by the end of the day and after a night out.

LOL from the thumbnail with the hats I thought some man wearing multiple hats was holding a piece of your hair out! OMG XD; I love getting those little sausagey curls, too. Especially on my new face-framing layer =3
I've never actually tried/studied the ice queen method...

Chikyuu: I think you're doing something like the ice queen method already.
If I recall correctly it's about raking and scrunching in RO and then LI in upside down position.
Thanks -by the way- for your great explanation of your haircare routine! My low-poo vs. co-wash ratio is about the same for me. I also do the scrubbing upside down. It's by far the best way to get to the roots properly for me.
What amazed me was that you use more amount of LI then amount of gel. Is that what makes your hair look so soft, moisturized but not with a wet look?
I don't use LI very much, because my hair is very soft by itself and (thus, obviously) I use more gel. But I get the wet (greasy) look, I hate, very easily. I think I have to cut down on the gel..
Does it take a long time for your hair to get dry enough to SOTC after diffusing?

LMAO!! I can see how it would look that way in the thumbnail. funny.
I decided I'd fool around with the icequeen method for a couple of weeks and see what happens. Then try supersoaker for a couple of weeks and see what happens. So be prepared for plenty of photos and comments from me over the next few weeks. The good news is I only wash my hair about twice per week, so you won't be bombarded daily.

Kimmidawn, your hair looks really good! I am soooo getting a hair cut. I think maybe my hair is just too heavy for my wave at this point. I'm thinking about taking about 2"-3" off to see if it helps. It grows so stinking fast that it'll be this same length by the end of summer if I don't like it.

I use more LI than Gel for a few reasons. 1. I've been applying liberal amounts of an LI ever since I was a little girl as part of my mom's "hair training" I guess you could say. It's just habit now. 2. I'm kind of hoping the LI would serve as a moisturizing protective barrier against both the dryness of my death valley environment and any drying aspects of LALSG, even though in reality it probably isn't doing that. 3. I like to use a very sparing about of gel anyways, just enough for definition but not enough for a lot of crunch. I kind of have a crunch-phobia that makes me irk away from using much gel...
It'll usually take 30-60 minutes after diffusing for my hair to be completely air dried, depending on how much I diffuse. Which is why I have my co-wash in a tiny bottle in my purse now XD because I'd be at school probably by that time. And honestly I don't have much crunch when my hair's completely dry so much as some flyaways and a bit of frizz and dullness, that working in 1-2 pea sized amounts of co-wash can fix up. Especially due to high use of full-blast air conditioners and my hometown's ability to have 40-60mph winds pop up out of almost nowhere.

jakrussel, our hair looks so similar! The main differences are my hair is medium texture (but kinky) and I have higher density of hair. Otherwise our wave patterns are the same.

Kimmiedawn's hair seems pretty similar to mine too. I'm going to have to start following both of your routines and products.
