AIF definitely gives me more crunch than LALSG ever did. Comparatively I hardly got any crunch from LALSG.

How I apply my gel: After applying my LI, I soak my hair heavily with water (not really rinsing, just soaking) and hang my head upside down. I'll smooth my hair together into a big clump, then with my hands scrunch out some excess water to get clumps forming. Then, using 2 pea-sized gobs of gel, I rub it into my hands and scrunch it into my roots (This helps with root curl). Just all over my roots. After that I'll take two bean-sized gobs and scrunch that into my length. Then plop for 15 minutes and pixie diffuse on medium heat for 5 minutes to help set the gel cast for it to air dry.

When I SOTC I might need the aid of a conditioner to help soften it. I love Regis Olive Oil Condish as a finisher.

Here's the plan. Gonna unleash the ponytail, wet the hair and apply a good deal of conditioner as a leave in (maybe GVPCB) and see if I can keep the waves without added product. Not a perfect experiment because I used LA Looks Curl gel yesterday, scrunched out, but residual is still in my hair. Will update on results.

Okay, had an incredible hair day, so had to get on and write down the steps -- you know for future experimentation

Washed with Giovanni tea tree shampoo, climate control condish (non-cg). It was still feeling a little dry -- not seaweedy, so used some MOP mixed greens and that fixed it up. Put a tiny bit of AG:fast food leave-in to ends only.

Scrunched in ouidad climate control gel (also not cg) in while very wet using mystery flavorless now infamous technique. Also went on to diffuse using smasters perfect hair technique.

My waves look like I used hot rollers, incredible!

to ends only.

Probably nothing today, but yesterday I had fantastic results with CJ Curl Queen. Gave me good enough second day hair, I don't feel the need to do anything.

Today is just a wash with SheaM MRS and no stylers with a barrette pulling the front back. Cramps be killing me.

I visited my "product hospice house" today
- Cowashed with Garnier Fructise Pure Clean (retired it because it didn't give me enough moisture but still managed to leave my hair feeling coated)
- RO with GVPCB (alright, that's a regular product for me)
- smoothed in some John Frieda Thermal Serum (erm... hid this one in the drawer for obvious reasons, but it's hot with high dew's today and cubanwavy got me thinking about silicones)
- used a ton of HETT mousse (i don't mind this product, but if I use it more than once a week, it seems to dry my hair out)
- plopped... for I don't know how long, probably 15 minutes-ish
- clipped and tried to air dry (I can't leave my hair alone air-drying because it's painful to watch the curls start to disappear so I start frantically scrunching it)
- started to have second thoughts as my hair was almost dry, so I scrunched it some water and BRHG
- let it air dry... sort of
- tried to scrunch out the crunch, but something about adding the BRHG to almost dry hair... left my hair like raw ramen noodles and I could not get rid of the crunch
- I hate crunchy glued together hair, so I finger-combed and pulled the ends apart to get rid of as much of the cast as possible (also pulling out any definition and curl
- left me with voluptuous waves that are somewhat reminiscent of drying my hair in a ponytail and letting it down

So, I'm noticing that my hair changes by layer. like the canopy is the straightest at 2a. the very bottom that is almost completely hidden along the nape of my neck is somewhere between a 3a and 3b? (fully formed spiral/corkscrew maybe the width of a finger or thumb).

Also, I'm noticing that my waves have waves. Like a clump will have a long lazy wave, but smaller clumps within that one will have smaller, tighter ones... does that make sense? I'll look for a pic...

Anyhow, does anyone elses hair do this?

Today I did cowash with suave naturals, ice queen with AOHR, AO sea buckthorn LI+ 10 minute plop. pixie diffuse/smasters with AnGEL.

I don't think I get the wave within a wave, but the undercurl/spirals are definitely in evidence.

Do you mean like a 'lazy' wave that has a 'clump' of shorter hair that is spiraling around the lazy one, but with more bounce and curl?
Then..Yes, that is what I have

Claudine it's good to know I'm not the only wavy who doesn't get straighter underneath, just more curly lol.

Rapunzel, I definitely have those too!

Okay, I took this picture to show you guys, actually, i took a LOT of pictures, but it's almost impossible to capture in 2D I guess lol. SO, I marked up the picture a bit. In the pic you can see all the little waves. the red line i've drawn is like a uniform pattern all over my head. So the little waves you see are all part of a bigger wave that follows the red line closely. So i have very big, lazy waves all over.... and those big, lazy waves each have their own little waves. it's like my 2a waves have their own 2a waves. am I making any sense at all? LOL probably not.

ANYHOW, here's the pic The second one shows the big lazy waves better, but it's harder to see the little ones. Also, it was windy lol.

I think of that as twirling, and yes, I sometimes have it, like on a humid day like today, when my styling efforts are basically a waste of time.

You have really nice long layers. I think that helps with twisting and twirling. Don't cut it! It's wonderful.

Yeah it was raining this morning and I had surface fuzz all day

Thanks for the kind words! I'm only on day 7 so they mean a lot

Tried out using TIGI Curlesque Strong Hold Mousse and Redken Soft Spin 05, great results. Very happy with how it turned out.

Last PM cow ash with VO5 Moisture Milk Strawberries n Cream. Squeezed excess h2o out with towel. Finger combed, applied a touch of Biotera Curl Cream and then applied Biotera gel. Dried fairly quickly by air, with minimal minimal crunch.

This am unleashed the overnight ponytail:

kimmidawn and cubanwavy - GORGEOUS both of you. Especially kimmidawn's ends! Mine always look stringy.. wave envy here LOL

Last night I cowashed with DC One, then did a DT with DC Heaven in Hair for an hourish (give or take) and a heat pad. Then I rinsed and put a pea sized amount of DC One to leave in, then rewet it (modified super soak) and plopped for 5-10 minutes. The intent was to let it dry with nothing to see how it did but when I took out the plop it was already starting to frizz so I scrunched in some KCCC and let it airdry about 90% (4hrs) before I couldn't stay awake anymore. Put it in a pineapple and SOT(very little)C this morning with a tiny tiny bit of oil (high dew here today). Still have quite a bit of surface frizz, but that's probably because I pineappled it a tad bit damp? maybe? lol

anyhow, results (please forgive my complete lack of makeup, lol):
