Experimenting today! If it doesn't turn out so good I'll just put it up since it's going to be super crazy hot today anyway (97 and humid, blech).

CO washed with a new conditioner (Suave Naturals, the coconut one), 365 Lavender as my RO, combed with that in my hair. Rinsed upside down, squeezed out excess water, KCKT as LI, rinsed through with cool water. Squeezed out excess water and scrunched in KCCC while still upside down, plopped for 20 minutes or so. Scrunched in BRHG with wet hands, plopped for another 10 minutes, and it's still drying now. Feels über crunchy where it's dry, way more hold for me than LALSG!

Alright, this combo seems to be doing good things for me!

For reference, this is what I was working with just before going CG, a week and a couple days ago:

Co-Wash with SN, RO with AOHR then KCKT as a LI. Super soakered, then scrunched in CHS CK and topped it with a mixture of AOMM and BRHG. Scrunched with a micro-fiber towel, then used a heat protective spray and pixie-diffused. SOTC with a touch of coconut oil

Coworker: *sigh* Can’t we just fast-forward to the weekend?
Me: No! Look at my hair!

So, I decided to try doing my hair without diffusing today just to see what would happen. DC low poo, DC One C for RO, KCKT for LI, CK, Re:Coil, AIF + 1 pea size dab of BRHG. Plopped for 25-30 minutes, scrunched in a little more AIF (maybe nickle size), clipped, air dried.

It looks almost like my diffused hair!

The 1st photo is air dried hair back in March. 2nd photo is from today. 3rd photo is my hair when it's diffused. I'm so excited my air dried hair turned out like this!

I'm a little late with posting this, so I figure I'll just post for the last few days all at once. I finally got SS Curl Enhancing Jelly and I really like it. I tried it over two days, both times used DevaCurl No Poo, CJ Beauticurls Strengthening rinse out, CJ Beauticurls Leave In, then scrunched in SS CEJ, and after scrunched in a 50:50 mix of Deva ArcAngell and BRHG, clipped, and diffused. The only difference is the second photo, I SOTC'ed a little too early so my waves were a little more loose.

Yesterday, I used CHS Treatment Shampoo, Ion Effective Care as my rinse out, KCKT rinsed through as my leave in, scrunched in Boots Curl Creme, scrunched in a 50:50 mix of AIF and BRHG, clipped and diffused. Overall I was very pleasantly surprised, I've mostly gotten good results with more "natural" products (aloe based or other plant based), but I definitely had great results with this.

Co-washed with SN Everlasting Sunshine, R/O Jessicurl Aloeba, quarter sized blob of JC Confident Coils and a bunch of Gelebration spray smoothed down the length and then scrunched. Blotted with a microfiber towel and plopped for about 10 minutes. Used Marci Pie's root lift method to dry the roots at my crown and sides, then pixie-diffused until about 80% dry. Nice soft waves and curls with a little bit of frizz, but it's 103 degrees and terribly humid today.

Havent done jack squat in the last wk due to a wet FL vacation. Kinda missed the curls lol! Today was the usual KCKT, HETT gel mixed with BB's FSG. Diffused for 5-10 mins & air dried.

I co washed her hair and then got her out the bath.. then I put a little bit of conditioner in, and a little Herbal Essence gel (totally twisted) and raked it through and kinda scrunched... Plopped it with an old tshirt of hers. She loves the plopping because she thinks it makes her look like a pirate!

Hi, just wondering, how do you apply your products so that you get such pretty waves in the back of your head as well? I always apply my products in sections...two sides, and then the back. However, the back never looks as good because I can't really reach it that well. Also, I don't want to flip my head over because that gives me lots of volume and I have tons of natural volume so it just looks poofy:/

I think a big part of how to get them is technique. Basically the way I do it is, I get whatever jelly/curl promoting product and start scrunching in the underlayer and back of my hair first (I noticed when I did the front areas first, the back wasn't getting enough product and ended up with less wave). After I finish scrunching in enough through the rest of my hair, I also scrunch my hard hold gel through the back first (same reasoning as above), and finish through the rest of the hair. Finally, when I diffuse, I (once again) do the back of my hair first. I also probably spend some extra time diffusing the back and the sides towards the back, partially because my hair seems to be more concentrated there and with more hair in that area, it takes longer to dry. I think with applying more hard hold gel and diffusing more in those areas (so the gel cast can set more), you'll have more definition and less poofyness. Oh and I also do that all right side up, so don't worry about feeling like you have to do it upside down. Hope this helps

Same as yesterday. Dews are high 70's today so I gave up & pinned the canopy back. Which allows you to see the stark difference between the shiny, sausage spirals on my underlayers & the still-damaged (after a year!) canopy engulfed in clouds of frizz. Been air drying a lot lately. Hoping with time, TLC, & a lot of patience & trims I can get my canopy to match the rest again.
