Cowashed with tresseme naturals
HEHH as a RO (icequeen method)
Gently scrunched ends so they wouldn't drip
Neutrogena triple moisture cream as a LI (scrunch n pumped)
Aussie Opposites Atrract mousse (scrunch n pumped)
And let air dry! I think it was a pretty good hair day

Day 3 hair at Big Mac using my Curly Kinks samples - horse flies are biting, it was 106 yesterday, and a nasty Neb thunderstorm rolled in before we got the boat out of the water. But my hair still looks good!

I had one of the best curl days two days ago with my new found HG routine of CO wash with tresumme naturals conditioner, ACV, Loreal Eversleek as leave in, a little coconut oil and Herbal essence Set me up mousse.
Great hair day shot
Today though I did the same method but instead of using HESMU mousse I used the Aussie Aussome Volume mousse and had a very bad hair day (reminiscent of a winter day where I used sticky gel with humuctants) .. I had straggly curls that dropped into ill-defined wurls after air drying .
My hair is so finicky with products it seems.

I went to Walgreens to check out the SheaMoisture products yesterday and found a kit with trial size bottles:
*Disclaimer: not my photo, found on Google.
I had a family get-together today so I tested the kit out. Verdict: AWESOME! My hair looks so good today. Applied the products to damp hair, scrunched, diffused 50%, let it air-dry the rest of the way, spritzed a little hair spray and voila! Best my hair has looked since going CG!
Now I just need to find a good conditioner because the kit didn't come with one.

Dew point: 50's.
Did a gelatin PT and let it air dry. Initially I loved the result because it was super soft. But when fully dry, I had a halo of frizz all over my head. :/
Then did a coconut oil DC, and washed with a little everyday shea bubble bath. that's still drying.

Yay the coconut oil worked! My hair is soft and I have less frizz than I've had in quite a while.

What did I do to my hair today? Totally messed it up. I tried doing an ACV rinse and then conditioning like normal, and my hair came out CRAZY. It was curlier than its been in a long time, but also still very greasy. That could be the result of the conditioner I'm using, which is fairly new to me, but I feel like I did something wrong somewhere in the process. Hmmm...

skipped conditioner!
Lately I've been experimenting with combing styling product through my hair instead of scrunching it in. I've been finding this works best with a curl cream as opposed to a gel or mousse (lately I am using CJ CCCCL). I love how this technique gives me smooth, loose waves. The only thing I don't like is that I pretty much have to sacrifice volume to get it. But today I thought, "My curl cream is so good at detangling and killing frizz....maybe I don't need conditioner??" So I low-pooed, dried very gently with an old T-shirt, combed CCCCL through my hair with a wide tooth shower comb, scrunched for a bit to get the wave back, and then air dried. I have to say I'm pretty pleased with the results. I'm not sure I got that much more volume (maybe a little bit), but my hair definitely dried a lot faster, and I still have smooth, frizz-free big waves. I'm curious to see if this has any effect on how my hair holds up for the second day. Maybe it won't go quite as flat???

What conditioner did you use? What was the ratio of ACV to water? I do my ACV rinses sparingly and as the final step, after conditioner. ACV shouldn't leave you greasy... if anything, it's drying.

Washed with a natural soap bar, GVP CB for my RO, GDLI, sealed with EO serum, then styled with SSCEJ. Not too bad - very soft and natural feeling (once I SOTC), but maybe slightly over conditioned.

I got feeling froggy about midnight last night and cut the longest under layer & trimmed up the rest.
Washed & Conditioned with SN Everlasting Sunshine... used some LA gel & some more condish. Scrunched & dried upsidedown with the blow dryer.
When my hair dries w/o scrunching & gel... I'm a wavy imposter! I'm thrilled to get this much curl.
I'm feeling perky today!

It's been raining for five days, so I'm just trying to control the giant frizzball that sits on my head...if waves appear, well that's a bonus. Today I low-pooed with Jessicurl GLS and let Too Shea sit in my hair while I finished up the rest of my shower. A wee bit of KCKT and two drops of jojoba as LI, and Pattern Pusha scrunched in, then diffused. So, moderate waves, a bit stringy on the ends, and moderately high frizz. It's not great, but I don't feel like I need to pull it into a ponytail. It's just...meh.

Well from my problem area post in General with my dry fried front sections, I was motivated to use more moisture. RO was biolage conditioning balm in those front sections, ION effective care everywhere else. KCKT as a LI, then first try with homemade FSG. Plopped & diffused.

lcl0706 - your hair looks gorgeous!! Your curls look so bouncy and shiny are you liking the FSG? I've been experimenting lately and haven't made any in awhile, but I remember really liking it.

cowashed, then put some Garnier curl shaping spray gel in, plopped, studied, took hair down and it looked great. Then I left for school. By the time I made it to my class, I had frizz all over the place. My hair just seemed to grow (Thunderstorms all day).
Now, i'm rocking a pony tail. My hair is awkward and greasy at my roots. I'm still adjusting to no sulfates.

Lol I'm glad they look bouncy cause they werent! But thank you! I always have root curl but the only time I get real bounce is with mousse & diffused till dry. I liked FSG, but it wasnt the instant knockout product a lot of people said it was. I want to play with the additives next time I make it, & I think I'll use more of it tomorrow & see what happens i do love that its all natural, cheap, easy to make, etc. I seem to do best with products with minimal ingredients.
