So 2's what did you do to your hair today?

I found a sample of Darcy's Botanicals curl cream gel I forgot I had. I really like it, may get the full size

Deep conditioned with some Tress Naturals, honey, and EVOO for about an hour. Thats about it. My hair has been doing weird things lately. This seemed to have made it worse.

started CG on 6/25/12.
  • 2c with a strait underneath
  • normal elasticity on top, none on the underneath
  • Fine side of Normal
  • Thick hair
  • Poriosity is a mystery. I think its all over the place.
I went to the hairdresser's last Friday and instead of getting a curly haircut (CurlSys style) I got a regular cut and boy was that good on my hair! It curls way better now and I get more volume.

Yesterday co-washed with CJDF, did a DT with a conditioner containing protein (L'oréal Volume Co. With liquid collagen) I just left it on my hair for half an hour covered with a shower cap. Then rinsed thoroughly. My hair felt extremely soft. I sprayed MopTop Refresher & Detangler Spray all over, then scrunched, plopped for a couple of min. Scrunched in my regular hard hold gel (Etos Solid Power Gel) till it made a light squishing sound.
Then plopped for 15 min. Scrunched with microfibre towel (was sold as a flour "sweep" haha) and pixiediffused till 85-90% dry. Then clipped and let airdry for an hour before SOTC with a tiny bit of AVG.
I've got nice soft looking waves, curls and spirals. Looks like there's nothing in it.

For the night pineappled and now my hair looks voluminous with waves and spirals. Not so much definition like yesterday, but the volume makes up for that. Me happy!

Washed today with SMMR, conditioned with Renpure Argan Oil (first use - made my hair feel weirdly coated...). KCKT as a leave-in, distributed with Denman. Supersoaked and added new SSCEJ, topped with SSFHG. Love these!

Scrunched with microfiber towel, clipped and difffused. Smastered with a little KCCC. Dried a bit frizzy, but nice and soft, feels like nothing is in my hair. SOTC with CIAB and a bit of KC gloss pomade helped a bit with frizz. Not sure if I did not use enough CEJ or if I just diffused too much, or maybe FHG does not have enough hold?

I like the results though, esp in the front.

I am still searching for my HGs and the right combo/routine.

Today I did the following:

Cleansed w/ DevaCurl No Poo
RO with TN (left it in for about 3-5 min though)
LI with TN again
Styled by raking in AG re:coil and AIF, then scrunched a nickle sized amount of BRHG

I plopped for about an hour and now I am air drying with a claw clip in the very front for some root lift. I might diffuse if it is not dry enough by the time I need to leave for a meeting. I'll post pics later this evening.

Okie Dokie. I recently ordered the Mop Top Travel Kit from CulrMart (Mop Top Travel Kit - CurlMart) and it arrived this week.

So last night I thought I'd take these products for a spin. I washed with the gentle shampoo, then combed through the daily conditioner as a RO and left it in for maybe 3 minutes. When I rinsed my hair felt great with no tangles and good slip. I scrunched out some water with my hands and added a little more of the daily conditioner as a LI. Turbaned my hair to get it out of the way while I dried off and washed my face, then spritzed on the detangler and refresher spray and combed it through, then scrunched a bit to get the waves going after combing. Then I scrunched in the light hold anti-frizz gel, and air dried maybe 90-95%. It was a bit crunchy and very slightly damp when I put it in a pineapple and went to bed.

This morning the crunch was gone and I had lots of volume (but it was not frizz-free, Gel). I pinned back my bangs and used the detangling/refreshing spray on one little part that wasn't playing nice and then used a tiny amount of coconut oil to smooth some frizz.

Not bad, over all. My hair is soft and full and not dry or tangly at all, which is what it does when it hates something. I think i'll try everything again with my normal routine and see how it does, as I was practically daring it to fail this time lol.

we're at about 87% humidity and lots of wind today, so we'll see how it hold up

Oh, I did adjust the back pic a little to show more detail as my hair is pretty dark.

I am STILL on a quest for 2nd day hair. I am not sure if this counts since I kind of started over, but I didn't wash.

I rewet my head in the sink and then combed through some TN, AIF, and re:coil. Then I did the super soaker and scrunched in a small amount of BRHG (I am falling in love with this stuff!). I decided to skip plopping today and scrunched the water out with my t-shirt instead. I then decided to air dry. That was taking way too long (I like to see my results when I try new things), so I looked up the SMasters technique and did a variation of that. I diffused until I was almost completely dry, scrunched in some more TN (which realeased a good amount of moisture that the BRHG was holding in), and diffused until I was about 99% dry.

Here are the results (I am LOVING it!)

(I even got ROOT curl!!!)
Now if only I could find a sleeping method that would hold this curl until tomorrow!!!

Ive had a long string of horrible hair days so today is making me smile. Last night i could tell after my shower i had the moisture balance finally right for at least a day so that was a plus.

Re-wet this AM. LI was KCKT, one pump of curls rock amplifer combed thru, scrunch, scc spray gel, diffuse. Didnt like it until I SOTC with a tiny smear of sm curl & style milk. Then it really came to life. Its got a bachelorette party to live thru today so i hope it holds up.

I used AIA CJ for the first time today. CO-washed, used a little KCKT as LI, then a couple of two-finger scoops of the AIA CJ scrunched into wet hair, followed by a couple of quarter size shots of BRHG scrunched in. First impression: meh. Waves looked good after diffusing partially and air drying, but they just sort of melted away after SOTC. I have long loose waves, a LOT of surface frizz, and a producty feel that may be due to a bit too much BRHG. Might end up with a messy bun later today.

I'll keep trying though...might just need a different combination of products with it.

It;s not really what I tried today, but what I tried last night. I did a pineapple, but instead of using a scrunchie or stretcy fabric headband, I used small jaw/claw clip. Then I put in my satin cap. My pineapple stayed in place SO much better, my curls were more intact (because they didn't shift around), I didn't get any indentations, and I had GREAT root lift! If you have any laying around, give it a try.
