So 2's what did you do to your hair today?

Like Tree296Likes

My first day with sulfate free products.

Coated ends with Vo5 kiwi, then used SM Curl & Shine shampoo on scalp. Raked in V05 kiwi, scrunched upside down, then rinsed and combed out. Then scrunched in some Suave Naturals coconut condish for the rest of my shower and rinsed just a tad out, not all of it.

Plopped for a bit but it didn't last even 10 minutes as my "plop" started coming down, lol. Tried a little bit of the pixie curl diffusing method but started to run out of time so just diffused until about 80% dry.

Top came out very frizzy, but I pulled it up in the pics to show the underneath which was not frizzy and had some clumps. Wonder why the canopy is so frizzy?

I tried a new method of application.
I did it wet in the shower with my usual stuff and then I plopped.
So far I think my hair looks terrible.

I'm thinkingn it's also a dew point thing.
My stylist told me summer will be harder to be curly in.

So... Do you pincurl or add more gel or wHat??

Lenie, Did you add any leave in conditioner after you lightly rinsed out your Coconut Conditioner? It provides more moisture and soothes out frizzies for me. Also, My hair can only take like 10-20 minutes of a plop, otherwise it gets frizzy.

Try using gel when you diffuse. I'd say about 2 quarter size amounts, maybe more. After you're done diffusing, your hair will feel hard because of the gel and be clumped up, but don't touch it! Wait until your hair is completely dry and then scrunch out the crunch lightly.

Trust me, the first time I did it this way, I was like ":O" but then I scrunched out the crunch and the results were pretty good.

I haven't plopped in a while so I think I'll plop today, haha.

Today was my first time styling in the cold dry climate in Idaho visiting my in laws. I put my curl cream followed by oil (which I never use) then gelled, plopped and diffused...I love this climate my hair looks amazing, far curlier than usual.

To put a damper on the day though I walked out of the bathroom and my mother in law took one look at me and said "i think I have a hair dryer somewhere". Yeah, thanks.

Omg,yoshimi! How rude!

Today I used deva low poo and then deva one c. Cold rinse upside down after dangle. Scrunched out water, combed backside all upside down. Sprayed with loreal everstyle beach spray, sprayed with DevaCurl spray gel, scrunched, scrunched with a microfiber towel, added moroccan curl defining mousse, scrunched then plopped for a few. Took out the plop, sprayed more DevaCurl spray gel, scrunched with hand dry hair glove and diffused upside down. Clipped the roots for 10 minutes while it dries the rest of the way. Put a small amount of JCNS on my hands and scrunched out the crunch upside down and right side up. I love how my hair turned out! Much more defined than usual! Also lots of volume! Loving the spray gel. Can't wait to use it tomorrow on second day hair (tried some last night before bed and was pleased lol).

My hair loves protein, plopping, and diffusing! Trying to find a way to style and air dry.
I did a DT last night with Coconut Milk and Olive Oil.
Rinse Out.
Leave In Conditioner.
NEW THING I'M DOING
Instead of just plopping, I'm scrunching with a t-shirt then bringing it backwards from my foerhead! It seperates my waves more and makes them lighter, WITHOUT THE FRIZZ!
My biosilk rock hard gellee arrived this week, so I decided to use a little bit of it over the top of kccc. the kccc by itself doesn't quite give me enough hold, but with this combo i managed to get second day hair without having to do anything more than scrunch in a little water the next day.

Today I washed/conditioned with GTTT. I used a little SM as a leave in and then SuperSoaked with KCCC. I felt like I needed a little protein so us added a little Joico Curl Refiner and topped it all with Volumax Mega and diffused a little. Really loving this gel, I get great definition but my hair is still soft to touch.

Any opinions on my curl type?

First I used a small amount of coconut oil pre-wash, then I co-washed with CJ smoothing conditioner, then I used GVP balm as a RO and leave in. I sealed with coconut oil and put my hair up in a towel turban for a few minutes, took it down, combed it out, and that's it.

For the third day in a row I have had good curl/clumping/defnition/low frizz with using just suave naturals coconut conditioner as a RO and then LI. I can't even believe the difference from even last week (I also tried a new protein treatment I found called Palmer's Coconut Oil Formula Protein Pack which I posted about on the protein page if you wanna check it out) when my curls were drooping more and almost straight in the back, and no definition/high frizz. I wouldn't say they are fantastic right now, but for using no styling products I am quite happy. I think the protein treatment finally tipped the scales for me from over-conditioned to a good balance and I am thinking maybe the suave naturals is a little less moisturizing than my typical biolage conditioning balm or yes to carrots, or even aussie 3mm which were all leaving me too moisturized. I don't know how long this will last, but I am enjoying it while I can lol. If I can keep it up I would say the suave naturals coconut could be the best 2 dollars I ever spent for my hair rofl. Oh I should add... since I still use cones (in that protein treatment and the occasional bit in a different LI and my argan oil, I use a low poo every wash. I have been using Alba Naturals Coconut or something like that. It has protein too.
My Hair:
2c
Fine, low porosity, med/high density
BSL - going for mid back to waist

HG: currently
just washing with a low poo that contains protein (Alba Naturals Coconut) and using Suave Naturals Coconut as both a RO and LI. No stylers right now, but this gives me pretty good curl, definition, low-ish frizz, and it feels and looks good. Also an occasional PT (liking the Palmer's Coconut Oil Formula which has cones) seems to be key for me.

Modified CG since February 2013

Yesterday I did a deep condition with a combo of conditioner and olive oil, didn't wash it out well enough, and then used too much leave-in. What can I say, I was distracted. My normally dry frizzy hair was greasy and lank.

Today I washed with a sulfate shampoo, rinsed out a conditioner, then skipped my leave-in. I used a tiny bit of styling product. My hair will probably be straight and frizzy, but I don't care. At least it feels clean!

Back to CG tomorrow
Today I washed with CJ Daily Fix and conditioned with SS Caitlin's conditioner. I think my hair loves protein! I used some CJ rehab as a leave in, sealed with coconut oil, and used a dab of CJ CCCC to style. I put it up in a "t-shirt turban" then let it finnish air drying.

Today I washed with a sulphate shampoo since my hair dresser used silicones on my hair saturday.
I wanted to continue with a clean slate, therefore: sulphate shampoo.

Then I continued with conditioner, leave-in and gel and I diffused a little bit. Hair is still drying so don't know how it will be.

Next wash (Friday) I will completely go back to CG and do a olive oil-honeyDT
Co-washed with Suave Naturals Coconut, ROd with Matrix Total Results (the Suave isn't rich enough to detangle for me). Got out of the shower and put on my robe and made my part, then raked in some more Suave as a LI. Then I tried BRHG for the first time. I sort of smoothed it and scrunched it in. I then gently scrunched with a T-shirt both right side up and upside down and let it air dry.

I'm pretty happy with the results. My hair feels fantastic. I didn't do a great job distributing the BRHG - I missed some spots. I SOTCd before it was quite dry in the back because I got tired of waiting. It's not the curliest I've ever been,. but the frizz is low and it feels so wonderful I don't even care.

The weather is perfect today, though. It's sunny with low humidity. I'll stick to this for now and try to get better at distributing the gel, but it'll be interesting to see what happens when it gets humid again.
