So 2's what did you do to your hair today?

No need to say more than that.

Works good for many others. UGH. I think it's the Goddess Glaze (Princess Glaze). The only thing I could get that to work with is the Gel-Les'C and even then it was a three hit wonder.

Good thing it's Sunday! I mean I had great curls but it was dry feeling, producty, just generally "icky".

I also tried my new EO Essentials Sweet Orange and Honey poo and condish. They were o.k. Liked the poo better than the condish. That EO Condish makes my son's hair so soft...he loves the smell..so I figured the $5 I spent on each (clearance at Marshall's since I whined as it looked like the bottles weren't full..gotta love being a squeaky wheel during Holiday season when they just want to click that number for the next person! ) wouldn't be wasted anyway.

So, I co-washed with my Suave Coconut and used GFSS as my rinse out. Smoothed through AOMM and scrunched with HESMU. I have the same problem today as I did with the GFTN and the AOMM/gel combo. At least, I think it is the GF that is giving me the problem since I don't have it any other time. My hair just looks oily. I am going to say that GF CO's just aren't for me...I'm thinking I need a CO with hardly any oils in it.

I used the GFSS on Friday with no problem. All I used to style was AOMM, no other gel. Could it be the GFSS and the gel is the problem? How does something work okay one day and make me look oily the next?

Oh well, this is why CO's scare me. I think I am okay with just using the Suave Naturals Coconut as a co-wash and leaving it in while I shower. Then using some of my Aloe & Water Lily as LI.

Question: what does it mean when your hair breaks when you try to stretch it while wet (which is really hard to do since your hands are slippery, btw)?

UPDATE: So, as the day goes on it looks better and better. I guess my hair is finally soaking up the oil. Don't think I'll want to wait for my hair to look good though. What would this mean about my porosity?

Last night I:

-Shampooed using a shampoo bar
-Rinsed
-Used rinse out conditioner
-Detangled for, like, two hours upside down, first with my fingers, then a wide toothed comb
-Did an ACV rinse with the conditioner still in my hair, upside down
-Rinsed for five seconds, still upside down
-Squeezed a bit of the excess water out
-Used a fine toothed comb
Scrunched in a half dollar sized amount of conditioner
-Went to bed with it like this

Looks great! Great volume and wave. Absolutely no frizz.
Cleanser: Liquid Castile Soap diluted in a foaming soap dispenser
Rinse:
ACV rinse
Detangler/Conditioner:
Oyin Handmade Greg Juice or Juices and Berries
Stylers: Botticelli Botanicals Styling Mudd, KCCC, Honey Rinses and BRHG, Crack Leave-in Hair Cream when straightening

Tools: Silk pillowcase, Floursack towels, Jersey T-Shirts, Wide Tooth Comb, Velecta Paramount TGR-VQX Hair Dryer (for when I straighten) and BaByliss PRO Ionic Rollabout Hard Hat Dryer
Ugh...running waaay late this morning. Used Deva Lo-Poo and AOHR for conditioner. Small amount of Giovanni Leave-In. Pulled back in a ponytail for the day.

My hair is all sorts of out-of-wack after being at the in-laws for 5 days...their water is very soft, and ours is super hard.

I really need to get my act together and wear my hair down more often. I get lazy and wear my hair up every day...
I'll play again!

I co'd with GTTTT, then rinsed out with GFTN. I used the ice queen method to encourage clumping. I used about a pea-size of GFTN as a leave-in. I sprunched just a little of the water out, then applied a big palmful of HETT mousse, and about a dime to nickel size of GFTN.

I plopped for about 30 minutes, then diffused using the Pixie method to about 85% dry or so. When I got to school, I SOTC. I've gotten lots of compliments! Everyone's shocked, as my hair was so straight before.
This morning I cowashed with Garnier Fructis Triple Nutrition Conditioner, scrunched in Dep Texture Styling Gel, clipped the top and sat under the dryer 15 minutes.
No frizz, great clumping, big loose curls!

Went to yoga class which involved the usual upside down positions, laying on my back, headstand, etc. It was also pouring rain, no hat or umbrella, and I changed clothes twice.

My hair looked great!

Went to Whole foods to smell stuff and read labels.
Got nice compliments from a couple of people, then discussed hair care with a store worker named Bill who had a headful of pencil sized ringlets.

He said he uses Kinky Curly Curling Custard every day,
just swears by it, and gave me a generous sample.

I'll try it next time I do my hair, but not today! I wish it always came out this good.

My best guess is that I'm 2c, thick and wavy, letting the gray grow out.

No. I was joking It took me about 20 minutes. It felt like forever though.
I hadn't detangled it in a couple of days and it gets really tangled.

Today, I conditioned with my shea butter conditioner, rinsed, scrunched some in as a leave in, raked through some AOMM, then applied some Goddess Glaze. WAY too much Goddess Glaze. WAY. Now my hair looks weird. Not necessarily bad, but definitely weird.

Curls=Beauty I'm glad you were joking. I remember the horrible tangles I used to get at the back of my hair when it was really long. I just wore it french braided for years rather than wear it down and have to deal with combing out those knots on a regular basis.
I low pooed w/ Giovanni 50/50, rinse out conditioned w/ LVPNG and a bit of GVP CB. Added Giovanni DLI to wet hair, raked in JC RR and CC, and scrunched in Biotera gel. Plopped for about 20 minutes (longer than usual), then clipped for another 20, diffused, applied AVG to frizzy spots and am now sporting the wet look waiting for it to fully dry before SOTC. We shall see how it looks by the end of the day. My curl tends to loosen and gets a bit more frizzy as the day progresses.

Update: So far so good. I think my hair likes JC.

I washed with Komaza Almond Cleansing Conditioner (am really liking this one!) and conditioned with Komaza Aloe Conditioner. Then I added some Hairveda MCP as a leave in (dime sized amount). I then smoothed some Duchess of Curls in and on top added some CCCC (pea sized) and then BRHG.

SOTC with Donna Marie Coco Hemp Butter (waaa!!! Love this stuff and it's not made anymore!! )

Very nice curl formation. I used those miniclips instead of bobby pins and MY HEAD DOES NOT ITCH!!!!! WOOHOO!!!! Turns out I am allergic to the metal in the bobby pins. Plus it doesn't look too bad at all.

The 2 Komaza products give me some nice body but it doesn't become evident until AFTER about an hour or two..a case of originally it looking flat but after I SOTC and fluff it a bit the volume stays and I have (what is for me) fairly big hair...keep in mind that's all relative to my thin hair

Combo is a winner!

Bad hair day! I didn't do anything out of the ordinary but my hair is terrible. It was looking crispy from the HETT gel. So when it was dry, I SOTC. All my curl fell out and left me with straightish matted pieces on my canopy. It was so bad that I ended up combing it with my fingers to get rid of the matted look, which left it frizzy but still better than before. I'm at work and can't find a ponytail holder. Can't wait to wash this mess tonight. Hope everyone else is having a better hair day than me!
2A (fine hair but a lot of it), High Porosity
Co-wash: Suave Naturals Coconut
Rinse: L'oreal Vive Pro Nutrigloss (without cones)
Leave-in: Healthy Sexy Hair Pumpkin Potion
Gel: HETT and HETMS spray gel
Occasionally: Nexuss Emergencee protein treatment and Naked Naturals Smoothing Low Poo
I've been lazy and went off CG again because I thought maybe a volumizing shampoo would help my flat hair! Yeah, no.

Today I washed with Herbal Essences Body Envy shampoo, used the last of my Suave Naturals Ocean Breeze conditioner, then put in some Redken (I think) moisturizing hair milk or whatever it's called. Scrunched a little bit.

Needless to say, it's a limp and undefined (but soft) mess. When I get home I'm going to scour my hair product cabinet for some CG friendly products and switch back starting tomorrow.

Cowashed with Komaza Almond condish (Alex I am also LOVING this stuff) then used Oyin Honey Hemp as a rinse out. Smoothed in some LOOC as a LI then used my Denman to part my hair, etc. Scrunched in some Boots, plopped for 10 min, then scrunched in some BRHG. When I finally SOTC my hair felt really producty. I'm guessing I used too much LOOC or too much Boots. It was my first time with Boots. So yes it felt producty BUT after an entire day of rides at Disneyland my hair had less frizz than normal and great waves and ringlets. Have to say I'm happy and can't wait to try Boots again. Maybe next time with GG or a softer hold gel.

So, today I used SN Coconut as my co-wash and left it in while I finished my shower. Rinsed it out with cold water and scrunched out the dripping water. Smoothed in SN Aloe & Water Lily as a LI, smoothed in AOMM, raked in HESMU, scrunched with t-shirt. I had to fix some areas (bald spots) after I scrunched and after I fixed them I scrunched again with my hands. When I got to my son's babysitter I SOTC. I am very happy with how it turned out

Did Nexxus Aloxxi Protein last night for first time, pood with Mastey for dry hair, DT with Terax Crema, styled with Jessicurl RR and CC. Tried to Pineapple (too short still) Woke up, let hair loose added some Shescentit Seyan Butter and it is what it is, Its soft not too frizzy but ok for 1 1/2 day hair.
Just misted, scrunched it back into shape, scrunched in a pea size of KCCC, clipped the top, dried under the dryer. I used more clips, and pushed some waves into the top, it was looking a little flat. Great 2nd day hair.
dark_waves, your hair looks so shiny and healthy!

Today I realized I can't switch to CG yet because I don't have any conditioner. So I shampooed and conditioned with HE Body Envy, wrapped a t-shirt around my head to soak up some of the water while I got ready, then scrunched in some Jessicurl Confident Coils and Gelebration Spray. It's still wet, so hopefully it dries OK.

I think I have decided I need to start a spreadsheet. I'm forgetting what works and what didn't. Hrm....

I used Hairveda Moisture Pro, CJ CA LI, DoC all combed in the shower. I'm having an issue with product distribution so I decided to try it this way. scrunched water back in to get the clumps going, then used a flour sack towel to get a little water out, while leaving the clumps. Scrunched in BHRG and some ATVG in. Diffused to 80% and clipped. SOTC with some primrose tangle go.

It's meh. The top of my hair is eating products, and the bottom is so producty its stringy and stiff.

I think I'm gonna try no gel, hrm... I wonder if I'd get any hold.

its not supah curly, but I've got nice waves and some volume. My cowlick and a ringlet got into a fight over who is dominant and I have this weird clump going on. The clump goes straight up, and then falls down over itself. Very interesting.
