Your hair might not like the protein. I thought for sure it would help mine, but I did a V05 hot oil the other day and ew! It was not good. My hair was like straw.

Also if you used olive oil in your PT you could be overdoing the oils--because GFTN has a lot of oils. Not all oils penetrate and there is a saturation factor. For my daughter olive oil is not the best one to use--it tends to sit more on her hair and absorbs less than other oils (like avocado which absorbs well for her) so keep that in mind. If the oil is acting as a sealant then it can prevent moisture from getting into your hair--it does depend on your hair but its a factor for consideration.

I soaked in epsom salt last night and scrunched in conditioner and went to bed. Wow! Hair is very wavy today, even my canopy! I need to get pictures.

Yeah, that's a good point

It's a good job I thought about it (a little) at the time, as the DT recipe I found called for olive oil too. I just skipped it there though, because of the olive oil in the PT and also already in GFTN.

I'm sure i'll give it one more try at another point, maybe with store bought PT and DT next time.

Default Two thumbs up for Runner's Jelly!

I can't believe my hair today. Really! I'm gonna have to see if I can pay her for a batch of this stuff. I'm impressed. Really, and that doesn't happen that often with hair products.

Its hard to see in these pics -- but I swear to you guys this (well besides LOOB, but its not really a curl enhancer) is the first curl enhancer that has actually enhanced my curls. My hair is a tad frizzy, but that is not unusual lately.

I'm making this one big, because its hard to see in the pic, but I can't believe there are actually curls. They actually interlock in a few places, and I kinda don't know what to do with them hah. I'm totally frizzing it up because I can't stop touching it. WOW

Here is the front:

And the side that is sorta always flat.

And to compare, I can't believe how fast my hair is growing!!! this is a pic of my hair cut that was a month and a half ago

I used LOOC and PM roundtrip for this style. You can kinda see the wurls, but they dont' make it all the way up like with Runner's Jelly.

Be honest! If you think I'm crazy let me know. But I'm seriously digging the results.

Talking

Goob definitely more root curl you're right

And dang girl your hair is getting long. WAAAAA I wish my hair did that!!! I'm gonna have to have a talk with it and tell it if it doesn't start growing faster I'm going to take some serious action!

The side that you usually say is flatter also looks like it has both more curl and more volume. Tho' I don't see the flatness--maybe because you have more of a side part? It never looks that flat to me.

I agree--definitely an excellent product for you!!!

I finally found my diffuser, yey! It had some how ended up under my bed. With how much stuff seems to end up there, it should have been the first place I looked!

So I just used my regular products, but then tried pixie diffusing.

I LOVED how it looked just after it had finished air drying after diffusing most of the way. Some of my curls at the front got warped, and it really didn't help the back much; I swear, looking at the front and the back is like looking at two different people! Curls in the front, weak waves in the back. The volume more than made up for it all, though. But then an hour later it looked like the picture on the right, which is so frustrating.

My hair usually falls to almost that state within an hour of SOTC, but it made it even worse after seeing how it looks with volume.

Grrr!

Goob, I agree, I definitely see more root curl.

I think I unnecessarily low-poo'd today ... it was the day on the schedule for it, but my hair didn't FEEL like it needed it, but I did it anyway, with Giovanni 50/50, then did a rinse-out with LVPNG. For styling I used KCCC under HETT gel, but tried applying the KCCC before the plop, and the gel after about 30 minutes of plopping, when my hair is damp.

I'm not sure I should have low-poo'd, as I have no root curl. The ends look OK, though.

Oh, your hair is so pretty and shiny!

From what I can see, we have similar wave and texture, mine's just shorter. Have you tried SOTC with something like LOOB? I think it helps mine maintain the curl, plus, once it's in there, I can re-scrunch a couple times a day and it perks it back up.

Finale--your hair looks super healthy--its got a beautiful sheen to it. It looks curlier to me there on the sides though. I just love the shine!

Euterpe--this happens to me as well..its why I am always crying for more volume or body. I have tried multiple things to help this and just have not found anything honestly other than something with hold like hair spray. I'm actually thinking of picking some up today--its the only thing that lets me keep that type of body. Mine falls too-but as I've gone further as CG its gotten curlier in a more ringlet way and they have no volume or body at all--its not in their nature to have any and my hair is thin besides which flatly sucks.

I can fluff it up during the day but normally I lose some curls when I do that..and sometimes I would like both. What type of gel are you using? For me even BRHG which is super hard hold sometimes doesn't do it. So I'm not making the CG recommendation--I can tell you that some things I use give me a bit of hold but that nothing lets me keep body like that.

So I can commiserate--no real CG advice though except to say I'll post up if I find something that lets me keep that volume. I may get another layered cut with layers much further up--maybe that would help.

Thanks I'll do the same, but not really sure what i'm going to try! When I was thinking about it last night, hair spray did cross my mind.

Right now i'm using HETT mousse and gel. I don't know if maybe that's too much and I should cut out the mousse. My husband actually uses LA Looks Sports Gel, and I think I remember reading that gives pretty good hold, so that's something else I might try too.

I'm kind of wishing I hadn't found my diffuser now. I was happier not knowing how good it could look!

And thank you kbostick I haven't tried anything to SOTC with. I'll definitely keep a look out for LOOB though and grab some if I see it!

My hair does the same thing! It drives me nutto. I 2nd what alex said about after a while the curls make less volume. I've given up and when I really need hold I just pull out the hairspray. They all have alcohol, but I think Giovanni's has less. I've been meaning to pick that up, but I keep forgetting.

You can find a TON of hairsprays without ANY cone at all, though they all have alcohol. I just go sparingly and only use it on "special occasions" haha. Careful though, I've found just a many hairsprays that weigh me down! some make it worse -- as crazy as that sounds.

I haven't done a thing to my hair for three days straight. It's a serious hot mess right now. But I'm trying to keep up with emails and feedback, so I'm forgiving myself because it is totally worth the trade-off!

Goobernut, I haven't gotten any negative feedback on the curling jelly yet. So far, I'm thinking this may be a solid formula and no tweaking necessary. So when you run out if you want a full size, let me know and we can arrange something. I'm trying to get a website set-up but I just haven't had the time.

OMG runner! you rocketh, yea verily!

yes, I will definitely be wanting a full size!

On the whole website/shopping cart thing -- jut as an aside, the Yahoo shopping thing isn't hard to set up from what I hear, and its a great thing for the starter business. If you wanna go complicated later, then there are lots of options, but if you wanna throw up something fast -- and decent looking, you can try yahoo.

Yeah, if it's not one thing, it's another, lol. I'll definitely look for the Giovanni one.. is that the Hair Spritz? That's the only thing I found close to a hairspray on their site.
