Today was a low-poo day. So, I low-poo'd and rinsed out with Giovanni 50/50 (poo & CO). Smoothed in some SN Aloe & Water Lily - Smoothed in AOMM - scrunched in HESMU. Not a good as yesterday, but still good

I am on Day 2 hair. It is a nasty mess. I used Duchess of Curls day before yesterday and BRHG and my hair feels so dry. The humidity/dew point is so high and my hair is a stringletty mess.

My hair hates Jessicurl products, turns it into just a stringy mess.

Default I guess I'm going mod because...

I low-poo'd and conditioned with my own concoctions. First 'poo in a while and it was just because I needed to test the formula. Then I used a new recipe of curl gel... me is liking so far ... and I smoothed a bit of hair butter over the top (mine too). It smells like chocolate and I'm not a fan. Definitely going to try a different fragrance oil next time.

Okay, so today was an experiment day. I've had 3-4 days of stringy hair, so I decide to switch from natural products (i'm really thinking its the oils, well except for DoC) to total synthetic ones. I clarified with my Kenra, used PM Intensive moisture. I used a pea sized amt of LOOC as a leave in. Then I used my PM Round Trip mixed with PM Thicken up.

I have to say, so far ME likey!! Wow. right now I have perfect hair. Its full and bouncy and has height. However, I just took the clips out and I don't think it will last until morning. I'll have to update you guys and let you know if my hair is actually presentable. I would have to say I should do this if I'm ever going somewhere that same day.

It looks like what I think mousse *should* do to my hair.

**edit -- it did not hold up! It is a limp hot mess lol

Default A weird hair day

I wouldn't say bad exactly. I actually got hairompliments again but to me this curlier type look is not my fave..mostly because the ringlet's on the bottom just look funny to me.

Anyway I used my Amourai Organique products today. Used the shampoo and the Knight in Shining Armour Mask for rinse out and leave in. Then used DOC and topped with Abba gel.

The shampoo was o.k....my hair felt pretty stripped after using it. Unusual for me to have my hair feel that way. I think I'll reserve this for times when I've used something I know builds up a bit. I am really starting to like the KSA conditioner. It smells very much like DOC BTW. It has protein which my hair likes...and it functions very well as a leave in which is good since I like products with more than 1 purpose.

Here's the pics. So far I've had pretty good hair days lately. I hope this trend continues! (and I haven't jinxed myself!)

I conditioned with Oyin Honey Hemp, smoothed in LOOC, the scrunched in Boots...no gel on top. I have a head full of voluminous ringlets that are FRIZZY!!! Don't know if the Oyin isn't enough moisture anymore or if it was the LOOC. LOOC didn't work well for me last winter but I was hoping it would this winter...migh be wishful thinking.

I looked at your pics and was like, "that's curly!!! that's not wavy!" LOL, and its all over! I do not see any funny ringlets on the bottom.

Jess -- I'm having such a hard time figuring out this whole "moisture in the winter thing". My hair has lost a lot of the wave, but the temps haven't really changed from summer. It feels like it needs more moisture, but when I give it more moisture, it just goes limp and flat.

I came across an almost full tub of Too Shea that I had put away during the summer when I found I needed more protein in my rinse-out than Too Shea provided.

I decided to give it another try, so I did a Spritz and Condish with it. I followed up with my standard LI, KCKT, and styled with BB FSG, topped with BRHG.

On a whim, I decided not to scrunch in my stylers this time. Instead, I smoothed and lightly raked them in, then shook my head to encourage the waves.

Now I'm sitting with clips while it air dries. It'll probably still be a bit damp when I pineapple and go to bed, so I won't know how it turns out until tomorrow.

I had a lot of OC problems last winter and I'm a little scared of that so I'm still shying away from my heavier condish. Maybe I need to add DTs back in first. I stopped DTing ages ago and I think I need it again. Thing is I haven't lost any curl and my hair never feels dry. IDK. Maybe I need a trim. It's been 5 months since my last Deva cut and when I went to my old stylist for color last week she said I needed a trim. I don't want to go back to my Deva stylist (she took 4 inches off last time when I asked for a trim) and my other stylist always cuts wet, uses a razor, etc. I really don't want to go to someone new

Goober are you DTing?

That's why I keep saying my hair is schizo There are days when it looks very 3B all around the area that would be covered by a headband if you put it on but didn't pull it back on top of your hair. Other days it seems barely wavy. Who knows. I think it doesn't show up. There is a ringlet on top of another ringlet on the right side so it stuck out and those damn things are stubborn--I pull them apart and w/in an hour they have migrated back together like cattle on the range during a cold winter .

I'd love the look if it was all over (like Operacurls) but it's not. I have people ask me if I use a curling iron on those pieces...as if! I'm like "are you on crack--why would I do it for like 1/2 my head?"

Some people.....

Thanks though for saying it..sometimes I think I see something that's not there! LOL

And Jess I'm with you. I LOVE the smell of Oyin HH but it just does not work well. I only keep it around to smell it. I tried it as a LI as well. LOOC works fine for me if I'm careful on amount..but it made Tahia's hair VERY frizzy--VERY...and very dry too. The Shea Mango and the new Argan Oil one work very well for her hair...Did the HH work for you before? If so I'd suspect the LOOC for sure.

The new Argan Oil one is really nice..I can't find it on ground though and it kills me to pay $12 shipping for products that cost $7.50!

The HH was great before and I really love the slip. It just doesn't seem to be enough right now The LOOC didn't do much last winter and the Shea Mango didn't either. I hate when my hair hates what (almost) everyone loves. Tomorrow I'll do Boots with a dif LI and some BRHG to see if it's the Boots. Ugh...I need a good hair day.

Goober are you DTing?
I hate when the stylist doesn't listen to you. Its so iffy too, because one time they will pay attention and give you the most perfect cut, then next time their mind is somewhere else and you get weird hair. I know they are people and not perfect, but man, its me who has to live with it for months.

Anyway, I'm only sorta DT'ing. Half-heartedly I guess. In the shower, I can't get conditioner to stick. It rinses almost completely clean. Then, when I do find a conditioner that sticks, like the Hairveda Pro, my hair is kinda limp. However, I think I'm starting to see that its just gonna be limp all the time in the winter lol. I don't know if the hairveda is what was making me stringy though. Oils tend to do that. There are oils in hairveda, but they are at the bottom of the list so, I didn't think it would make that much of a difference.

I've got a few good DT's now due to some swapping heh, and so I'll start being a little more regular with the DT's and see if that works.

Oh, and if you DT, and then lo-poo it out, do you think that's wasting the DT, or is that fine? Most of the DT's are so heavy, I can't just rinse them out. I'd have a greasy stringly limp mess.

Thumbs up Hairveda + DBNCCJ = winner again

Just wanted to see if it was a fluke. Turns out it's not!

Not quite as good as last time but still very very nice. Soft nice curls and no weird strands and clumps not stringlet's. Ringlet issue from yesterday is gone too. YEAH!

Co-wash with Hairveda Amala Cream Rinse then use Hairveda Moist Condition Pro as rinse out and leave in then Darcy's Botanicals Natural Coils Curling Jelly then BRHG.

I have a very important meeting this am so I went with the products that seemed to have a good chance for success! No rain in sight but dews are steady in the 40's-50's with about 65-75 humidity. Good hair potential with that.
