So 2's what did you do to your hair today?

Peyroux, looks fantastic! I love you as a brunette.

I'm pretty sure I've determined that Ecostyler was the reason for all my extra curl/clumping. It felt maybe a little curlier after I showered tonight, and the Lustrasilk perked it up just a little, but the Ecostyler? I use a lot (I love crunch!), and it just coils right up.

So, thanks ladies, for recommending Ecostyler and protein stylers in general. This is a definite keeper for me.

I cowashed with Suave Green Apple, condished with GFSS, used LI, re:coil, plopped for about 10 minutes, added ampro gel and diffused the roots for a couple of minutes and let it air dry. SOTC with a dab of coconut oil. Not as full as I'd like it, but I guess this is what I get if I let it air dry for the most part.

I used the CCCC lite today and either I don't like it or I didn't apply it correctly. Either way, I am not feeling the love at all.

Mallory Susan-Love, love your hair.
Finale- new cut and color is looking great.
Peyrox-Love the brunette. I loved the old blonde too. Nice to have options.
Yesterday I S&C a PT then did the usual. I didn't vary at all, and this really seems to give me the best results. That's why it is the usual.
Hookilau posted links to how to do vintage hair yesterday in this thread.
straight sections in front - help?
I decided to try the pin curls. I added more spray gel and a bit of water from a spray bottle. I left them in a few hours to dry and then combed them out with a fine tooth comb. I only did the front of the hair, but I think I really need to do the whole head. I also will pin more of the pin curls against the head next time for a bit less volume. I love it for a first attempt. I think I will do this style quite often.
Oh, and I believe consistency in era important. I'm wearing a sweater from the 60's, make-up from the 20's (from link) and hair from the 40's.

To top it off, I finally managed to go 3 hours NOT touching my hair while it dried! Impatience - 97, Victoria - 1!

I'm completely in love with my hair today.. I think this is only the second time since starting CG!

Euterpe! Look how clumpy and awesome it is! And you've got volume! It's amazing what keeping our hands out of it will do, isn't it?

Today I spritzed with water until about 50% wet, then just scrunched (I had Lustrasilk and Ecostyler in my hair from last night). I SOTC with some LOOC. This is about an hour after a refresh with a little more LOOC. (Please pardon the weird computer glow making my face even paler than normal).

Today I low-poo'd with Giovanni 50:50 to get rid of the heat protectant form the salon, then rinsed out with a mixture of GVPCB and GFTN. I scrunched out extra water with my hands, then scrunched in Lustrasilk Shea Butter and Mango. I plopped for about five or ten minutes, then scrunched in Ecostyler and waited for it to air dry.

This is right after SOTC.

The Olive Oil is lighter, and you may have better luck with it. Though, really, since each of them is only $3, it's really not a big loss if you try the Mango and don't like it. I haven't tried it as anything other than a leave-in/refresher/SOTC agent. I'm not sure I'd like it as a rinse out or DT b/c there's really not much slip.

That was my concern with the Shea Mango, or any of the Lustrasilk's for that matter. I have been using my GVP CB more and it hasn't been weighing me down, today I mixed it with my Giovanni 50:50 so it wasn't as heavy. I think my problem of getting weighed down is oils. I got weighed down with GNTN & GNSS, and I think they are both heavy on oils. How about Lustrasilk, are they heavy on oils?

You're right though, for the price it wouldn't hurt to just try it.

I used to think, besides the porosity, we were pretty close hair twins

BUT...I have envy over your hair as of late. I WISH I could get my waves to look that good! Are you air drying?

Dark, I am air drying. I'm way too lazy to Pixie as of late. I credit Ecostyler for the big change in curl pattern. I'm VERY happy with how it's looked the past three days or so.

And yes, save the porosity, I think you and I are pretty close to hair twins, even with my newfound curl pattern (plus, you'd think we were similar if you could see the back of my head. It's straight up 2a back there). My higher porosity probably explains why I'm able to use the GVPCB on a regular basis without it weighing me down. And speaking of, I like it a lot, but I still sometimes have to mix it with GFTN. My hair is DRY in the winter, and it loves it some oils.

For me, "today" includes last night, as I washed and overnight plopped.

What I did:

Wet hair thoroughly and added some of my liquified* Jungle conditioner all over, but mostly the shaft. I probably could've skipped this as my hair felt slick and smooth after I'd wetted it because I'd been using a little of this conditioner as a pomade/leave in as my morning refresher. I washed at the scalp with my liquified* Blonde shampoo..it's not CG, but it is fairly diluted and I don't have much else right now. Followed up with American Cream conditioner on the ends and shaft mostly, wiping the last bits over my scalp. I think I did a little overkill on the scalp area with condish though. My hair was so soft and smooth when I combed and parted it, and had 3-5 big wavy clumps at the bottom. I flat hand squeezed a little water out.

Out of the shower I used my Big Tease/Biolage jelly mix...I think I might have even used more Jungle, just on the ends as a leave in before the gel mix. I raked it in my hair which was still smooth and fairly straight on the upper area and with the big clumps on the lower area. Then I decided to do super soaker, only I didn't comb the product through...I only filled my hands with water and cupped my hair with it, scrunching and squelching along. Then I got my t-shirt to scrunch out some of the water an got my plop on. Slept all night, took it off this morning with non-crunchy and fairly clumpy curls. The front was a little weird, so I put that part back in a clip. My hair was still a little damp, but not (very) frizzy at all! It has frizzed and softened a little throughout the day though. My scalp feels a little producty, but the rest seems alright. I asked my boss if she thought it looked heavy and gloppy with stuff and she said no.

I took these about half an hour ago...sorry for the poor quality due to my lighting and where the comp with the webcam is.

*liquified since the Jungle conditioner and Blonde shampoo are sold as solids...I just added water and waited for the bit to liquify...it makes the application easier for both and the solid shampoos can be a bit concentrated so this dilutes it (and the sls) more

Yep, they're Maltesers. My husband loves them! We get them in bulk at Costco from time to time. That, and shepherd's pie. NOM!

I'm going to try the spritz-and-add-more-Eco technique tomorrow, and next time I style, I'll try layering the jelly under the Eco and see if that makes a difference. I have a feeling I could use more Eco even though it feels like there's a ton in there when I apply it.

OK y'all's hair looks great!

I still can't believe all that curl Finale! and Plunky its way too cute and Eut it looks gorgeous!

Ped--that is the dagarndest cutest hair ever! You look like a movie star from the 40'50's--So classy!!

Gek--I'd have to agree...hmm..try the CCCC Lite other ways but your MJ QC and your HETT are clear winners over the CCCC Lite at this point. It still looks good to me but I think there is something missing--I really like your hair and the QC -- plus I think its DOC that also looks great and Runner's stuff?

Aiming to grow hair to waist from buzz cut - slowly but surely.
After reading a little about protein treatments and something somewhere about the benefits of spirulina, I looked in my cupboard and found a tin of Spirutein protein powder.Mine is unflavored.
http://www.vitaminshoppe.com/search/...20100217130717
I thought, what the heck, and mixed a teaspoon full into a few tablespoonfuls of GFTN. Put this on my dampened hair and covered it with a plastic bag and a towel, let it set 10 minutes.
Rinsed, scrunched in GFTN for a leave in, FOTEAVG, and Dep sport texture gel. Scrunched with the gloves and dried under the dryer as usual. So much more curl! I can't believe the difference just adding this protein powder to my pretty much usual routine has made.
