I actually did my hair curly for the fist time in months and was reminded why I've been straightening. It's stringy in so many places and lays funny. That's what I get for not trimming it for 8 months.

On the plus side I have minimal frizz which rarely happens for me. Especially since I skipped a LI. I used a ton (at least 3 quarter sizes) of CCCC and BRHG over for hold. Then 30 min under R2D2 and air dried the rest. Even after putting the front up and messing with it a little the frizz was nothing that a little Shea butter couldn't fix. Woohoo to lots of CCCC.

so today I used CJ Daily Fix to wash and condition and then applied SS FHG smoothed through scrunched in and then plopped, diffused and air dried. Then I combed the whole mess out. Honestly, I'm really questioning whether my natural wavy hair is my best look. Yes my hair being CG or modified CG is healthy, shiny and in probably the best condition of it's life. The downside is it's fine and thin (and nothing will change that) and it wants to wurl and frizz and go flat on top etc. Sometimes I just think I look more pulled together with blown dry, straightened, rollered you name it hair! Thanks for listening. I'm hair confused and I guess I haven't made peace with my hairs......

It's pretty both ways! I know what you mean, though; it's hard to get used to a new look. This is the first week I've thought the CG-wavy look might be 'me' as much as the brushed-wavy look. (I used to just brush it and curl the ends in the same direction w/a round brush. This gave me decent 2nd & 3rd day hair, but my 1st day hair was usually a fluffy fuzzball.) But your curly hair is so shiny! Also, I suspect that wurly hair doesn't look as 'wild' as it sometimes feels.

kmd303-
I think it looks good both ways too. It may just be that you are not used to wavy hair. Or you just prefer the straighter hair. If you decide you just prefer the straight hair, you can still do some of the CG stuff and have healthier straight hair. You don't have to throw out the baby with the bathwater.

i tried the spritz and condish method yesterday and my hair was the curliest it's been so far. did the same thing today, but for some reason it wasn't the same.

then i added some home made FSG and scrunched in BRHG.

still in the process of drying.

Washed with CJDaily Fix and then used CJ Curls in a Bottle. My first time trying the CJCIAB and I really like it. I have defined waves (even combed) that don't feel heavy or too fly away and no frizz. Tomorrow I think I'll try not combing! So far so good today. (oh and the best of all no stringlets)

Tried out Komaza Styling pudding today--I'd give it a thumbs up (in moderation)

Used SNBE Low poo then Hairveda MCPro as a rinse out and leave in...then put in about a pea sized of the Komaza Califia Styling pudding followed b same size of BRHG.

I've been having some trouble with my hair being too soft after I put the shower filter in..I think my hair likes hard water! It's much softer and less curly since the filter (I might actually remove it)...not fond of the softer look actually since then my waves go every which way and just look messy like I didn't bother when I got up.

Overall the Komaza pudding is great. Looks and feels like brown mousse--very different. Smell is good (coffee like)..and it feels weird in the hair--almost like it's coating but not.

I'm going to use a soap bar tomorrow with ACV see if that kind of shocks my hair.

Combed through Alba Soft Hold Styling Creme, supersoaked, plopped, then scrunched in JoiWhip Mousse. Airdryed, am diffusing as we speak. So far, it's a lot curlier because it's not weighed down, but I'm not getting the clumpage I get with gels. I'm getting more volume, though! Still not 100% dry, and I haven't SOTCed, so I'm reserving judgment.

This has been my fear about installing a shower filter. I think my hair likes hard water. But without one, I worry about potential build up. It is a dilemma.

Update: Initially, I thought I'd like it, b/c it was looking curlier as I diffused, and I thought I was getting more volume. After drying, the front looks pretty decent, but the sides and back don't look good. Not enough clumpage for my liking, and not a lot of volume. I'm sure I'll keep adding products to try and salvage it.

I cowashed with suave coconut, condished with GFSS. Then I added my Terax LI, re:coil, and LALSG. My hair turned out okay. I keep eyeing a picture from one my my "best" wavy days and because I didn't post it here, I have no idea what I did to get that hair!

On a side note, I finally found some BRHG! I can't wait to try it tomorrow! Hopefully I don't go overboard on it...

I think I will do a PT and DT tonight and just let it airdry and then cowash tomorrow so I can try out the gel.

O.K. Here is what I did.
Imagine if you parted your hair ear to ear. Now imagine dividing the hair from the ear part to the from of the head into three sections. Take the 1st section near the ears and pin that back with bobby pins, like it was being held back with a headband. Then take the second section and pin that back in sections/curls with hair pins. Work the hair pins under the bobby pins. Now pin front third (bangs) back with hair pins. This pic was taken at the end of the day.
This look would be great with a thin headband, but headbands squish my noggin. It would also be good with two thin elastic headbands.

Today was SS CEJ and KCCC again. It's nice to know that my hair can handle less hold and still hang on to wave. I think tomorrow I'm going to go back to Ecostyler, but try using less. I think I've been using too much product recently. My hair has started holding more wave on its own, and I'm still piling on product like I had to at the very start of wearing my hair naturally.

I used a leave in and CCCC lite, then went to the beach and got completely windblown. Totally worth it.

Co-wash with SN Apple, condition and leave-in with GFTN Icequeen style. Scrunched in KCCC and L'Oreal Melting Gel. Overnight plop.

The back looks great, but my part is really wonky. Not getting the root curl up front, either.
