Tommorrow it's back to CJ DF to wash and SS CEJ for scrunch.
Today was a lowpoo day. After, I rinsed out with a mix of GVP CB and GFTN, then used SS CEJ and SS FHG.

Honestly, I'm a little disappointed. It may be because of the lowpoo, though. I'll try the combo again tomorrow, and see how it goes.

AJJ, the back of your hair is so cute in the above pic!

I took a picture of the back of my head last night (post hair cut) and I thought, I look like AJJ in her avatar!

I haven't really *done* anything per se, as I just got up and went out today with just a run over my hair with some water. It wasn't perfect, but I'm saving my wash for tomorrow...I have an eye appointment and will be dilated for much of the day, so I plan on a nice long and hot bath and some hair time.

But, I am doing an experiment right now. Ha ha ha...

The results from my last wash left me with more clumps and less curls in the front, and generally more waves than curls...or at least softer curls that were less stringy. Anyhow, I was playing with my part and trying to figure out the french braid headband (but I still can't really french braid) and when I undid the braid I was kinda finger combing my hair. I decided to finger comb all my hair and eventually put it into 2 braids, one on each side. This was all rather spontaneous. Then I thought, I wonder what would happen it I wet my hair/braids, added curl cream and gel on top of this and twisted the braids into buns and let dry.

So I am currently a quasi Princess Leia but the braid buns are not nearly as neat looking. I have no idea how it will turn out, but worst case scenario is I spritz my hair and re-scrunch.

Last night was a shampoo bar night (Burt's Bees). GFSS as rinse-out and GFTN as leave-in, Icequeen style. Scrunched in KCCC and L'Oreal Melting gel, while scrunching out excess water. Plopped for about an hour. This method works so much better when I plop overnight, but I can't seem to get comfortable with the plop (I'm a back sleeper) and I really wanted a good night's rest last night.

So...my hair was a wee bit crazy this morning. Lightly shook it around upside down to get the curls to fall in place while spritzing with conditioner water. Turned right side up, spritzed with Aussie Aussome Volume spray gel, lightly scrunched. I've got some frizz from the extra scrunching and shaking I did this morning, but I am happy that this method seems to be reviving the 3a characteristics of my hair.

Sorry for the flash issues in the pictures; my camera and I are not getting along this morning.

I've been bad and been using non-CG stuff for styling...some of it I was unaware it was not CG until recently. So I used some conditioner on the lower half of my hair, let that sit in for a minute or so, then started with a small amount of my diluted shampoo and worked it into my scalp and hairline, then a little more under by the nape, and then the smallest bit on the length because of the non-CG styler I used the last few days. Followed up with more condish, let it sit, did shower stuff and then detangled and rinsed. I followed up with a little more condish and smoothed on and did a quick rinse. (I usually use my liquified Jungle condish first and then American Cream after, but this time I reversed it, using the AC as the pre-poo coat condish...no real particular reason). Blotted some water with a shirt, then added my Biolage/Big Tease mix to my sides first, then the top, then the bottom. I did a little super soaking and scrunched, then scrunched again with my shirt and plopped. I'm about to go to bed, but I think I am going to undo the plop, check it out, and I may add more gel (just the regular Biolage) before replopping.

Here I am after SOTC with a little of my LUSH massage bar (rubbed in my hands and scrunched).

The rest on page 2 of My Inner Curl album.

Co-wash with SN Coconut. Rinse out GFSS and leave-in GFTN Icequeen style. Scrunched in KCCC and L'Oreal Melting Gel. Overnight plop.

Worked very hard to get a part this morning, then SOTC and scrunched in a little more Melting Gel. I have no root curl at all today, but no frizz either. I'm totally in love with these curls, though!!! The Icequeen method is awesome!!!

Gorgeous hair, Rona!!!!

I think I am over proteining my hair, it feels not so happy these days. I conditioned with MCPro, then followed up with AOMM/HETT. Tomorrow, I think I will try the Darcy's pumpkin conditioner. Does that have protein?

Everyone's hair on this thread is so pretty.

Well today I had a brainstorm and decided "simpler" was better for me. So I washed with CJ Daily Fix, rinsed out and then raked through some Daily Fix as leave in. No plopping, no plunking, no diffusing and no gels or curl cremes. Without those techniques I have waves.....no spirals or wannabe curls (well just a few lonesome ones) but no stringlets either. I air dryed and finger combed and have a kinda beachy wave look going on.

Actually I'm pretty happy with it And I'm delighted to have found a "go to" sequence for my hair that works no matter what.
KMD -- I was so happy when I discovered the same thing for myself. I just want something that I am happy with and doesn't make me look like a hag hah.

Gekko - I don't think I would have noticed the red, but you pointed it out. And then I still had to look for it.

Rona! I have serious hair envy -- gorgeous hair.

Plunky -- I love your long waves. I am so torn inbetween growing it all out so I will have princess waves like yours, or getting it layered.

Today was inadvertent third day hair, but it worked out because it's 65 and sunny here in Pittsburgh today, baby!

I have VOLUME. I have WAVE. I have the ability to go outside without a jacket!

Ok. Done with the guano now. I spritzed a little, and added a little LA Looks Sport Gel (maybe a nickel to a quarter all things considered?). Here's the day's pic, after work and on my deck.

After a few weeks of experimenting I think I may have found a good combination.
I washed and conditioned, rinsed upside down (a-la Icequeen) my hair still very wet, I stayed upside down, very lightly scrunched in a little bit of KCKT, a little KCCC, and BRHG (the deva archangel was a little too light of a hold and I think the BRHG is a little too strong... so I'm thinking maybe next time some mixture of the two or use less BRHG....?) I plopped for a couple of hours, then took the t-shirt off and just let it air dry, and it was curlier than normal, like when I diffuse, but not frizzy (and no extra heat damage). Very happy with the result

Love your hair Rona V. It reminds me of Rudee Chicks from the back.
It is important to follow the scientific method and only change one thing. Here is what I changed today. I added honey, shea butter, vitamin E oil, and coconut oil to my conditioner. I scrunched in a tiny bit of coconut oil after my leave in. Then I used the smasters/awesome hair method. I scrunched in Ecostyler and Pixied it half way dry. I raked in BRHG and Pixied the rest of the way dry.
My hair drys so much faster without adding the BRHG to soaking wet hair. I still have to work on this method and see if I can perfect it.
I clearly added too much stuff to my hair. It doesn't get weighed down, but it gets producty? oily? heavy looking? I'm not sure what the correct term is, but it is not good. I think I may be due for a low poo and that may be contributing to the problem.
Bla, bla, bla. I think I will have to start over tomorrow.

ooo havent posted here for a while

Today I CO with OS white pear and avocado then used CJDSC as a rinse out (probably should have used GF as this wasnt enough moisture) and then raked and scruched CIAB (smells soooo good) and scrunched in gel over the top and plopped for 1/2 hour.
After that i added more gel and diffused...SOTC and got beautifully soft clumpy ringlet and waves.

Thanks for the compliments, everyone! I am finally starting to get the hang of the basics of what works for my hair, so pretty soon it will be time to throw in some new experiments. I'm only having one small problem with my hair right now, which I'll start a new thread on when I take some documentation pictures later.
