Today was not a wash day, so I conditioned with CJ Smoothing Conditioner, I liked it. Scrunched and raked some back in as a leave in, raked and scrunched in BBFSG, then scrunched in HETT.

I did nothing to my hair today other than throw it back in a ponytail and put a cute yellow stretch headband on it. It's not very curly, but doesn't look terribly messy.

Just straightened it... yuck. I have to for tomorrow though, because I was told it is easier to braid/updo straighter hair for the Cancan me and some other girls are doing for 'International Day' at school tomorrow. :P Meh.
Too lazy to take pics.

And plus my straightener sucks, so it leaves my hair so blah. I need a CHI or something for days like this, because when my friend uses that on me, it's all shine... Mehmehmeh. I hate my hair straight either way though.

i washed my hair last night
low poo GTTT shampoo
rinse out tressume naturals
acv rinse
raked in AOMM
scrunched pantene ice shine mousse and a tiny bit of BRHG mixed with water
SOTC this morning with jane carter N&S

i was all excited about using AOMM, but all it did was make my hair soft. my waves are limp and blah. usually the hair that frames my face in the front curls and looks 2c-ish, but not today.

i need to figure out how to use AOMM.

gekko422 you have some gorgeous hair!

Today after recently discovering I need to shampoo every now and then I bought some Burt's Bees Pomegranate & Soy shampoo (and it smells amazingggg) and tried that out. Then did my usual Suave Naturals Tangerine & honey and then left in my GFTN while doing all my other shower stuff. I also added in some coconut oil on my ends.

After shower routine for today - Suave as a leave-in, then some HEBE and FSG, coconut oil on my ends to seal all the moisture in (trying to grow it out!!) and then some LA Looks Sport gel on top. All scrunched in, super-soaker style.

My hair isn't completely dry yet, but my roots feel soft from the shampoo and the curl definition is turning out nicely especially in the canopy (where it is usually so dry) with the FSG.

Ah! Today I used my*NEW* stuff! I actually had the opportunity to wash my hair before work because I had a later starting time, and I was so worn out from work yesterday and the multiple glasses of sangria at dinner with friends, that I passed out before 10pm and woke earlier up than usual this morning.

Anyhow, I started by applying a little bit of LVPHG to the shaft and then I used some Curly Wurly on my roots mostly...just a finger scoops worth. I emulsified it in my hand first, adding a little water. Followed up with more LVPHG, detangled and rinsed with cool-ish water. My hair had some major slip.

Squeezed out some water with my hands gently, and applied a blob of HEBE, smoothed on and scrunched in (including upside down). Scrunched more with my t-shirt. This was all done over my tub as my hair was still pretty wet and drippy at first. I had some pretty big clumps. I don't recall how long I plopped...long enough to eat the brekkie DH made and then some...I'm guessing 30-60 minutes.

I went to work with fairly damp hair still, and I worried about SOTC away from home and frizz, as it was damp out from a rain earlier. When I got to work though, I had no need to SOTC...my hair was super soft and shiny fairly uniform S-waves that softly framed my face with a little curling at the tips. Definitely not as curly as it has been, but not as stringy either. And not too frizzy either. The only thing that would have made it better was more root volume and a little more wave (stronger wave pattern) there too. My hair was shiny and looked pretty good all day, and it's soft. It's frizzed some since I came home in the rain (though my hood was on, and it was not too heavy).

Generally I'm pretty pleased with how it was all day, even the flat root area. I'll see if I can get any decent pics later.

Oh, and I washed about 10:30am and by 2:30 it was nearly dry!!!! Definitely on the shorter end of my drying time. w00t!

Yesterday I used FSG/AOB5. The B5 didn't seem like it had enough hold, so I re-spritzed and added KCCC. (Add one more to the tally of gels that do not have as much hold for me as KCCC. It remains undefeated.) My hair was looking pretty good...

And then it got rained on. A lot. It smelled funny. (I blame the B5. That stuff is funky.) I attempted to re-scrunch, but it wasn't much use against the frizzy rattiness. Ah well.

My hair is having trouble crunching lately. I might venture timidly towards protein. Probably the GVP K-pak.

Smile Well

I'm on like 3rd or 4th day hair, i just scurched it damp in the shower with what was on my hands. added a pea size amount of the blue suave naturals added a pea size amount of Ecostyler AND HESMU (I mix them in my hand) and air dried. I have it pulled up a little today and it looks awesome! but its starting to feel producty..

I find the less i poo the better it gets, but then my scalp gets itchy, any suggestions ladies? I know my process has been slow-some of you remember i had to poo every day, now my hair no likey...

I got my hair trimmed and colored yesterday so today I conditioned with SS CC and then used CJ DF and then some SS CEJ. My hair feels fabulous. We'll see how it dries.

The SS Caitlin's Conditioner does have a very silky rich feel to it. I'm hoping I can use it everyday without getting over conditioned.

Default Why can't I find the best of BOTH worlds!?

I went back to my old standby HESMU. I used to go between HETT and HESMU, then I started experimenting.

I get great shine whenever I use it, I just love it - BUT I don't get the hold that I used to from it. I can get awesome enhancement whenever I use KMF UM over either SS CEJ or simple aloe jelly, but it doesn't really help with the shine. My hair actually looks a little dull when I use it (since I know how shiny it normally is).

Why can't I get the best of both worlds in one gel?

I used HESMU over the SS CEJ, and my hair is SHINY, but just loose waves

Maybe it will work better over SAJ? I just love the shine it gives me...

I pineappled last night and still have some wurls, and I have a little more body/volume from it. Haven't done anything yet, but I might be going out later so I am going to try using a dab of Live Clean Argan Oil Smooth and Shine Cream to tone down some frizzies. Otherwise, my hair is still pretty rockin' from yesterday even it is isn't as curly and is still a little flattish on top. I might pin the sides back lightly with a barrette. I did that last night when I washed my face ad brushed my teeth before bed, and it looked pretty awesome.

This combo lasted me all week - I didn't have to wash until this morning - mightn't have had to today, but I tried out some of my new Emollience on the ends last night, and it made it look dirty (along with four day's worth of natural oils). Until last night, it stayed clean looking and feeling. I finally got my FHG yesterday and tried it this morning over about a dime's worth of GDLI, a quarter- then another nickel-sized puddle of CEJ then a couple of good dips of the FHG. I have nice, soft, frizz-free wurls and curls, including at the roots, that are holding up surprisingly well on a kind of ugly, damp day.

I can see myself going thru that little jar pretty quickly! I didn't think it was going to be enough hold, but if it makes it thru this day, it should be plenty on a more typical day. When I saw how soft it was after SOTC, I thought I'd need to add some BRHG or other harder gel, but maybe not after all . . . .

I also just got some CJCCCC lite which I haven't tried yet. I'll have to give it a go mixed with the CEJ like Xcptnl used it. I'll probably forego the leave-in with it, though - I only used the GDLI today because I only used some SSRPT as a quick rinse-out in the shower and was afraid I might need some more moisture. I think it wouldv'e been plenty on its own, though - I'm really loving that stuff! It worked very well as a leave-in Monday, keeping my hair curlier all week than it would've normally stayed. Usually I would've added some AVG to the ends while it was pineappled, but except for the first night, I didn't do it the rest of the time - the ends were still plenty curly on their own. In fact, just slept on it without pineappling Wed. night.

CO Washed, Scrunched in Curl Creme, combed, scrunched in water, applied gel. Meh. Not good at all, sadness. Ive reached the 'hair looks not so good' stage of CG.

This is my 2nd day hair. All I've done is take a pea sized bit of Live Clean Argan Oil cream. Unfortunately, I was outside by the water at a friend's house, and it was quite windy there, so the pics show some frizz.

This one's a bit blurry, and I have a mutant arm, but I still like it...

Despite the frizz, I'm still pleased. I think it is the clumps and the softness I like.

I thought when I started this whole thing that my ultimate goal was to get my hair to move over to 3a for good. Then one day I got incredible clumpage, and I was so darned pleased with it that I didn't care it was less 3-like than normal. Since that day my goal has been to recreate those clumps, not to get tighter curls. Unfortunately, I've not been successful yet.

i switched over to showering at night for a couple of reasons. i work at a hospital, and i always take off my scrubs right away, and i just prefer taking a shower after being there for 12 hours.
also when i wash it before i go to sleep, i don't play with it at all, which means much less frizz for me. it takes forever to dry and the impatient part of me is always touching it during the day to check if it's dry, messing it up in the process. the routine seems to be working great so far.

anyway, AOMM just seems to be a leave in for me. did nothing for curl enhancement.

tonight i did a PT with nexxus emergencee (my hair loves this stuff! i left it in for an hour, and my hair was so soft when i washed it out. and when i first put it in, curls immediately bounced up. i'm considering using it twice a week now.)
low poo- giovanni TTT
rinse out- GFTN
leave in-AOMM
smoothed in a little re:coil and scrunched in HESMU gel.

Thanks Rona! Yes, ultimately I'd like to get bigger clumpier more consistent 3a/b curls all over. I think I just have a weak curl pattern though, so right now I want to focus on getting my hair conditioned and healthy. Maybe as I continue I'll get a stronger curl pattern, but I think I am happier with softer, looser, clumpier wurls right now. I feel like my husband can touch my hair right now.

Default Too much Co...

Scrubbed with CJDF then rinsed AOWC. Tried a diluted CCCC and it's wayyy too much. Might as well be straight. Ah well just CJDF next time & we'll see.
