So 2's what did you do to your hair today?

Like Tree296Likes

Today I used CJDF, a TEENSY bit of Tresemme Naturals (can we agree this is TN from now on?) and then a SSRPT as a leave in. Then I did my normal Ecostyler & LALSG combo and diffused.

And you know what? I had an AWESOME hair day, despite rain, and a bike ride (complete with bike helmet). It held really really well. I keep forgetting that I need to use more protein than I have in my stylers - I'm just struggling to find my warm weather balance, I guess.

Does anyone else find they need less protein in the warm months than in the winter? Or am I just crazy?

I haven't really done much of anything for the last few days. My hair is fairly flat in contrast to what it can be, but it is still wavy and not terribly frizzy, with a little volume. You can see it in my picture with Eddie Izzard.

I might try a refresher in the morning, though lately I haven't bothered since I've been having trouble sleeping and waking up so there hasn't been time before I go to work. Hope to do a wash tomorrow after work or Monday morning when I'm off for our holiday (Victoria Day).

ooooh!!!!! I just used Aubrey Organics GPB conditioner for the 1st time. My hair is wet with some giovanni leave in, FSG and kmf um gel... will see if I like protein or not..... ive done that sallys one before and it worked out ok.
I wasnt sure if i was supposed to do a DT afterwards for this one. It didnt say on the bottle and it felt very moisturly.. if that is a word.. so i just did leave in. Hope that was right.

Dandy, I like Ecostyler b/c it's a curl-enhancer for me, and helps my hair clump up (I think partially because it has a stiff texture, and because it has protein). I was it as my only gel in the winter, but now it's not quite hard enough to control my hair in the summer.

And to answer your other question, I've never DT'd after GBP - I don't think you need to, because it's super moisturizing. In fact, I rarely DT after my SSR PT, either, but instead just use a rinse-out. I think it depends on your hair, how gentle to DT is, etc.

i have alright hair today!
shame noone is around to see it.. boring sunday.

i used my new aubrey organics gpb protein conditioner.. boy it feels nice on.. really slippy and moisturizing.. i just put it on after i co-washed with natures gate and left it in a couple of mins before.
Did a giovanni weightless leave in.. FSG and kiss my face UM gel.
Nearly dry and boy the curls!!! yay!! not sure if it is the protein or the fsg kmfum combo.
I also sotc with Jane Carter Nourish and Shine some.
minimal frizz , stoked, hope it lasts.. i wont be washing my hair for a few days as i have to get some art made and it takes sooo long to dry! it is 3.30pm and not even all the way dry yet.

Note to self: use more protein. My hair today looked FABULOUS, and I didn't really do anything different except use SSRPT as a leave in for the ... third? Time this week.

So, I need to beat it into my head: Not enough protein = frizzy, harder to moisturize, harder to hold waves/curls. This just confirms that for my hair, I need to use protein in almost every product, even if I end up rotating. Danged porous hair.

Ok, so I lied and have done something today. Since my last post which was earlier this evening where I hadn't really done much of anything, I spritzed my hair til wet and added a little SS RPT as a leave in. This was in part an experiment to see how that works before the shop re-opens Monday morning. I'm hoping to get a few things if the hubby will loosen his grip on the paypal account a little. I'm getting ready for bed, and I'm washing in the morning, so I didn't use any gel which has allowed it to be mostly dry now. It could just be the water and the scrunching, but I think the SS RPT did help some with the curl and revive them as they've been a little lifeless the last few days IMO. More info in my Spiral Solutions thread, including pics.

I low poo'd and then raked through my cowash. I rinsed out upside down on cool water (like modified icequeen I suppose while scrunching out the water.

I plopped with a flour sack towel for a few minutes, then added KCCC and HESMU, then plopped for a few more minutes with a t-shirt. Hair looks much clumpier today!

I haven't been on in a while but I thought I'd post this because it has been working so well for me in this weather.

I have been using Tigi MM as a conditioner/leave in, then mixing CIAB and a little gel (CHI) in my hand and scrunching it into my hair.
Spirals! No crunch! No Frizz! Second day hair! CIAB is my new summer HG.

Where does everyone get the Tigi MM? I haven't been able to find it in my usual haunts, and I'd like to try it.

Hmm. My Target must have been out (they were out of a lot of stuff, and I didn't really check the shelves for what was missing). I'll look at CVS tomorrow on the way home from work. Thanks, Solid!

I attempted a water wash and used Curls For Target (CFT) Coconut Curlada Conditioner on the length. I say I attempted a water wash, because although I massaged and scrubbed a lot, I don't think I really got my scalp and roots clean. They still look and feel a little producty, but maybe this is just that they're moisturized? The scalp and root area is smooth and shiny though, so I am not too concerned. I think I will low poo on Wednesday morning before my late shift at work. Anyhow, out of the shower, to fairly soaking wet hair, I used some CFT CremeŽBruleŽ and CFT Goddess Curls Gel. I combed them both in with a wide toothed comb, then scrunched with my hands, and I super soaked a little. I scrunched with a microfiber towel and plopped. I plopped longer than I wanted (hubby was romantic...'sall I'm sayin') and air dried. The plop actually seemed to come out alright...I was a little worried leaving it on that long. I didn't have any crunch, and I didn't have the same amount of hold or definition I usually do, but I did have some curls. I either didn't use enough gel, or it washed out with the super soaking and/or microfiber scrunching. I have the sides pulled back, and the roots/scalp looks good even though they don't feel as clean or light as I'm used to with shampoo. I think adjusting my part a little bit is also good.

All in all, not a bad hair day, just a little different than I'm used to or know what I've gotten before. I'll get decent 2nd day hair tomorrow if I do a refresher.

Yesterday I had EEEK producty hair so I cleansed today with Jessicurl GLS and then followed with Aloeba for condish, Sprayed in SS Protein Spray, used a quarter sized dollop of EWSAJ and a quarter sized blob of SSFHG on top. We'll see how it does later.....

More specifically, I added a little MM as a leave in (I tried without, but I think my hair is too dry), then scrunched in some CIAB (about a quarter size), then mixed about a quarter of gel with about a quarter size of CIAB in my hand, which seems to take away the crunch and I scrunch all them in upsidedown, plop a few minutes, then I didn't even need to diffuse upsidedown.
Thanks! I'll give it a try!

My combo today didn't do too bad!!!

It did fall some, but it's the end of the day and my hair FEELS INCREDIBLE.....and more importanly no itching. If I have itching by this time of the day I know that something bothered my sensitivities but no probs today WOOHOO...... so I may very well be able to get decent hold with the SSFHG! That'd make my day....
