Uh-Oh ALLERGY--scalp breaking out!
Yug. So I'm wondering what I did.
Mixed it up today--Brenditas Body Works Cleansing Conditioner followed by Hairveda MCP and then Beauty without Cruelty Leave In (I've used before and its been fine but only 1x) and Deva Set Me Up.
My $$ on the Deva or the Brenditas. No idea what would break me out in it.
I have a bunch of the little red raised bumps that feel almost like pimples on my scalp and they itch and hurt.
Thinking about low pooing..don't know if I want this stuff to stay in my hair today. My hair was a disaster today anyway but it's already 7pm--for the first time in recent memory its weighed down, greasy, disgusting. I mean GROSS.
*sigh* and I had such a nice streak going!
I'm going back to my Darcy's and Jasmine's stuff

Sad to end the streak, but I agree that low-pooing is probably the best thing to do. You want to get that stuff as far away from your scalp as possible so the reaction will stop and calm down.

Definately a loo-poo. I just had the same thing happen to me post a deep treatment and a loo-poo helped dramatically! I also got a set of hives to go with my scalp break out. Baking soda all over helps with my itching when I get hives and it may also help in your loo-poo just be sure to ACV rinse after.

Weeelll sheoott....hives on the back of my legs.
I just did a clarifying poo (no sulfates but it is pretty harsh IMHO) and then did a short DT...not too much on my scalp but its dry and itchy and needed some moisture.
Still a bit itchy but feels better. Hair feels better.
I'll hit the hives with some BS and some hydrocortizone and some shea butter..that usually kills it.
I'll figure out what caused it but until then stay away from the Brenditas and the Deva products.
If I still feel icky in the morning I'll do the BS with condish and ACV rinse..by the time I read your post I'd already low poo'd..thanks F!

Glad to help! I'm glad your reaction isn't as bad as mine. I still have hives! From yesterday! I'm waiting for my doctor's office to open so I can get some stronger meds. I'm still not sure what caused all this flareup. But as long as it's lasting I'm pretty sure we're beyond just a DT as the root cause. I might have a food allergy or something going on now too.
PS: Are people who are allergic to hops, allergic to beer too?

Do you have any Tea Tree Oil products? This summer, when FrizzBgone went ballooning with us--we got all bitten up by mosquitoes. She told us to use Tea Tree Lotion. I had some Tea Tree soap with me and we washed with it ASAP that night and again the next morning. The bites never itched. I've since bought the lotion and turned friends on to both for skin reactions. It really helps.
I find baking soda very drying. When I used it in the cherrylola protein treatment--my hair felt terrible. I cut the teaspoon down to 1/4 t.
If you have any oatmeal, grinding that in the blender or food processor and mixing with water to make a paste to apply can help, too. It's cheaper then buying the Aveeno.

Thanks kam! I have tea tree oil and oatmeal. In fact I already have some ground up oatmeal cuz I use it as part of a face mask..its in the fridge. That'll be easy!
I use tea tree oil mixed with water to get rid of ants in the summer. It is not perfect but better than tons of chemicals!
Today the itching is way less on scalp--back of legs isn't too bad. I'll go lighter on the product and use some of Giovanni Tea Tree stuff--that'll probably help!

Yup! That's how I found out about it. I had a friend who couldn't drink beer because she was allergic to hops.

If you have some oatmeal you could blend it to a powder and mix it with with either aloe vera juice or strong chamomile tea. If you have any lavender essential oil a few drops of that will be soothing too. Massage it into your scalp. Leave it on for a bit and then rinse.
You can do this several times a day if you want until the itching and irritation goes down.
Edited to add: I see you've already thought of the oatmeal. I guess I should read through the entire thread before responding, LOL.

I know I'm bringing back an old thread, but goobernut, can you tell me what kind of reaction your friend had to hops? I've been breaking out on my chest and shoulders since using Deva shampoo and conditioner. AND I've always thought I was somewhat allergic to beer. It makes me sneeze!

Not Goober, but I have a sensitivity to hops. Makes me itch and break out in little bumps. Sounds like something you may have as well. Especially if beer makes you sneeze. I discovered my sensitivity when I was using DC also.
