First official "diva cut" results
Overall, I am pleased with the results, but sad to lose some of the length. It needed to happen though and strangest thing about hair- it always grows back (except my lasered chin hairs ;o) )
Since I'm a wavy girl, the stylist did not cut each individual curl, but she did stick with the wave pattern and opted for higher layers to add volume and eye framing. After cut, she low poo'd me with Deva low poo. No condish (since I overcondished the night before ( ) She used Angell as my only styler and scrunched in the product with a wet paper towel. After clipping up sections with about 8 jaw clips, she set me under a diffuser dryer for 40 min. Gently scrunched out the gel from the roots to break off the "crunchies" and then styled my bangs straight in the front for a different styling option.
End result was LOTS more volume and curling than I'm used to, but I did not like the Deva Angell product as I felt it made my hair look too frizzy and felt producty. Will be interested to see how the style does with my own tweaking!
By summertime, this haircut is gonna rock. That's my hope anyway

Length schmenth. Who needs it? Your hair looks fabulous. What a great cut. Your waves look like they perked up. By the way, you look pretty cute too. Awesome!

I think your hair looks lovely in those photos! I'm looking to cut mine similar when I finally get the moolah$$.
I know what you mean though. I didn't like the way they styled my hair either when I went for my cut. It was too disheveled looking.

How do I find a DevaTrained stylist? I can't fly cross country just for a haircut!
(well, at least until my rich uncle dies and leaves me his fortune. O)h, damn...I don't have a rich uncle! ) I second Goobernut...your hair looks amazing. Very pretty.

Y'all are all awesome!! Thanks for the compliments and curly girl confidence boosting.
Not sure how you would find a good deva cut stylist in your area, but I'll bet if you print out a couple pics of the look you're going for and find online the basics of what the cut involves, you could find a good stylist to do it for you.

I agree VC..looks fantabulous!!!
I agree with Deva styling..always leaves me yucky..they don't really scrunch my hair and clipping and sitting under the dryer leaves me with weirdly waving flat limp hair..that and the fact they use Deva products doesn't help.
My hair always ends up about a 2A or 1C in wave with their methods..so I just re-do..the last cut for me was fantastic..the one before that not so much
I just contacted a new Deva stylist and am hoping to go in Feb to get another cut.

That is beautiful, and as said before it already rocks - no need to wait for summer! Makes me wish we had a Deva-trained stylist around here for sure, hehe.

valcurl - your hair looks amazing!!!!
here you all are talking about cutting and I'm trying so hard to resist my temptation to cut - want my hair to grow already. I'm hoping by winter time here (which will be your summer) i will have some what decent length so I can actually play. So envious of all your beautiful hair right now.

Beautiful cut Valcurl! It really suits your face. I love it!
For those asking how to find a Deva stylist, the deva website ( http://devaconcepts.com) has a find a salon link at the bottom of the page. I always check there first then look at the salon reviews here on nc.com.
