I need a new hair style....

I'm so bored with my hair. I think my hair looked BEST when i had LONG layers and it looked like it was one length. I think my next cut i'm going to shoot for longer-ish layers??

Looks terrific now! But I hear what you're saying. I'm tempted to grow mine out again. I felt like a looked best with long layers, too. But first, I'm going to see what CO does for my terribly dry, frizzy, fly-away hair. If I get to a place where I can stay shorter, much more pulled together, I might stay shorter. Good luck on your grow-out!
Mostly sure I'm a 2b/Mii
Just starting out (and brining the entire family along for the ride):
CO-wash...V05 Moisture Milks Passion Fruit Smoothie
Rinse-out Conditioner...Garnier Fructis Fortifying Cream Conditioner Moisture Works for Dry or Damaged Hair
Leave-in Conditioner...Garnier Fructis Leave-In Conditioning Cream Sleek and Shine
Gel...Herbal Essences Totally Twisted Curl Scrunching Gel
Wish me luck!
I'm right there with ya Sista! My waves love some length and weight (not so happy with chunky, short layers), but itsn't it a good feeling knowing that while it's short- it is being pampered, loved, and made ready for beautiful lengths?? That's what keeps me waiting for the grow out. I often get "scissor happy" and then am sorry I went to the stylist...
Curl Pattern:2b Texture: medium

I know how you feel... I'm still growing mine and I'm so bored. I can't wait for warmer weather so I can start air-drying too--I'm so tired of diffusing simply because I'm cold! But I am still refusing to get it cut, I'm waiting as long as I possibly can. I already trimmed it myself a few weeks ago to get rid of some ratty ends.

If you really do want it longer but are just bored, why not experiment with different ways to fix it. Here are two ways my sister used to fix her mostly 2c/3a hair when it was longer.
1) This one is in the CG book if you still have it. Take two pieces of hair from underneath the ears. Bring them to the back of you head and tie them together to hold back the rest of your hair.

2)Gather the hair on the crown of your head with your hand. Fold/scrunch it all the way to the scalp (like in pixie diffusing). Secure it with hair pins. I'll call this the base. Go around the perimiter of your head section by section. Gather the hair near the outsides or on top of the base and secure with hair pins. This is sort of a bun alternative. My sister could do this in 2 minutes without a mirror and it looked like she had been to a salon. I did a version of this when my hair was long enough to just touch my shoulders. Mine didn't look like I had been to a salon, but was cute and different.

2a (nc.com) 2bFi (Fia), very fine, thin, low/normal elasticity, porous, CG, doesn't get weighed down
Cowash: Tresemme naturals
Rinse out/leave in: Renpure Organics (red)
Curl enhancer: FSG
Gel: BRHG, Salon care aloe, Ecostyler Krystal (normal dews)
PT: ION effective care, IAgirl's gelatin PT
Low Poo: renpure (red), Ion swimmers
Before you decide to cut it, why don't you buy a couple of flexi-8's and experiment with some different 'dos. Then when you are sure of what you want to do you can do it with confidence. Getting your hair cut when you are just bored...maybe you would regret it later?

And I agree a grow out challenge would be a great support.
Maybe sit on the boredom for at least 2 weeks and see if you still want to get it cut? I got mine cut back in March and still regret it. I'm still working on getting the length back to where it was before. Flexi-8's are a great idea and save me on many a bad hair day!

If I'm Going To Have A Bad Hair Day, It Might As Well Be In Aruba!

Here's a vote from the "cut it" camp! You could get it really stacked in the back so that it's still long in the front but much shorter, thicker, and curlier in the back. Like MJLove's hair, or Kathymack's.

That being said, I also think that waiting for the urge to pass is a good idea if you are seriously afraid of regretting it. You can try all the styling tips with the toys to keep you from getting tempted.

I think your hair currently looks great, Wavy!

I'm with everyone else wavy, your hair looks amazing! However I feel your pain, I know the boredom feeling all to well! As Ms gilbet said sit on it for a week or two, have a play around with your flexi8's and even buy some new hair accessories - I'm loving headbands right now.

I'm up for a growing out support group - I think I've got the shortest hair out of all us wavies...I spent a lot of time over at the growing out section, I'm trying to be patient and have sworn off the scissors for a while..
