CUTE!! all of them. I love the french braid. Your hair is beautiful.
Ok so the one from the CG book. I'm still confused. so you take hair from underneath and sorta tie it around all your other hair to make a ponytail???

Thank you!
I'm not sure how exactly it says to do it in the CG book, i've not read it, I just remember Pedaheh mentioning it. I think she said to take hair from below the ears and secure it with a band, around the rest of your hair.
But yeah, that's pretty much how I do it. I just grab two small sections of hair from the underneath of my hair, at the nape of my neck, then bring them around over the top of the rest of the hair and clip it in place off to the side. I like to take it from underneath instead to keep my hair slightly away from neck.

In the CG book they take hair from behind each ear and tie that together. No band or anything. I remember my sister saying that she fixed her hair like this when it was long. My sister has very thick 2c/3a hair. She found it worked better for her to pull hair from behind the ears then from the nape of the neck.
There is no fasteners, but the look is as if you pulled your hair back at the nape of the neck with a clip like this. HTH

Got it. Thank guys. I don't think my hair is long enough to tie. I will try using a clip.

Also, I'm feeling really depressed right now. The last few days anyways. Not sure if it is the gloomy weather or what and I guess psychologically the only way i can change myself (because i guess that is what i'm searching for, is a change) is with a hair cut. This happens to me every year. Or whenever i grow my hair out. I get bored and need a change, it's the gemini in me, I guess.
So that is where i stand with my hair. I looked at pictures online and i just don't feel like a cut is what i'm looking for. I was looking fro cute styles and i'm at wall. So if you see anything on line or anywhere and you can post it , It would be much appreciated!

think I'm going to go lighter think I'll get my change that way. And maybe have hair stylist do something a little different. I'm going to go back to my old stylist for the small change as i know she is super creative etc. I just got a color but i feel i need to lighten it up. Now to convince my husband that I need this cut. It's not going to go over well, at all.

WW-I'll post so you don't feel so lonely.
Yep, that is it. Like your variations on the tie back and your hair pin updo too. The hairpin updo is pretty much what I was talking about in the other thread. I have always done my updo higher on my head since my hair has always been shorter then yours. I think it is cute on you.
I totally get the boredom. Before I went CG I would fix my hair 5 different ways in a week. I change my hair color every few years. I just went brunette in October and already know my next color is henna red. I own about 30 eye shadow colors and 10 or more shades of lipstick. I just need different. I think I should probably start to force myself to do variations on my curly style so I don't get burned out. I've worn my hair the same way almost every day since the beginning of October.
I'm always amazed by the fact that Jennifer Aniston ate a cobb salad for lunch every single day for the entire run of Friends. It would drive me crazy if I had to do that.

it was super easy! but you have to do the tie back thingy thing first so it sort of holds the hair up. I think the bun is super fun and think I may start wearing it like that and the fun tie back. The tie back looked cute in the front but the back looked weird. So i need to work on it.

hi - love the thread wavy and that head band is sooo cute!
I love headbands I have a collection from Alanah Hill (Australian designer; very feminine - some over the top) and Diva (cheap but nice ones). Some flexi8's, a whole bunch of clips that I use to mix stuff up. I still get bored though.
I have been experimenting with twisting my hair up on each side and around my head. Like this or this.

I don't know what WW used for the messy bun, but I always used U shaped hair pins when I had longer hair.

I used plain ole' bobby pins (you can use those alligator pins as well). the key to this hair style was to do the twist thing right about at the ear or maybe lower down your neck. Do this on both sides so that it is sorta holding up the rest of your hair in a pony and then at that point twist your hair and pin it up with a few pins. Seriously easy-peasy.

*sigh* wish my hair was long enough for that!
Can anyone help me with a style that is on the formal side, I had a wedding this weekend and I'm freaking out (my boyfriend gave me a couple days heads up!)
i like the look of this or something like this but i'm unsure I have enough hair to make it work.
