cute styles...
Hi guys--
what do you think of posting hair styles that out of the ordinary for you. It may be up, down, half up etc.
It seems a few of us could use some different styles to prevent us from cutting our locks
So , I'll go first. I know this isn't really cute or ordinary, it's just different than the every day hair style I wear
ok i was so bored with my hair this weekend, I straightened .

headband

ok, that's it for me right now.

Clipped back waves on either side today with alligator clips and kinda liked the look. Not super creative, but experimenting...

Wavy -- I never realized how layered your hair was! I thought it was getting all kinda one length! You can see it more with it straight though. Or is that just a trick of the lighting?
Val -- I like that look! I think that half the things we should be doing to our hair aren't super innovative, but we get stuck in a rut and forget the "oldies but goodies" That should be added to your repertoire.

LOL, I have to edit my post as i put these ARE super cute, when i meant to write these AREN'T
Anyways, I love the styles.
I need to try the one val posted. I mean i've done something similar before. It doesn't look as cute on me boo.
and i love the flexi 8 pics. And the one with the adorable barrette
And yes goob, I have a shiat load of layers. that's why i was thinking of growing them out and getting a more blunt cut. the lighting in my bathroom combined with my camera is not my real color.

I love the flexi-8s, very cute. I called the clips I used today alligator, but I'm not sure that's what they are. They are those little basic, plastic coated metal barrettes that you can get anywhere. The longer length ones seem to do well with my hair to hold back chunky pieces.

AWE! Thanks friend. Wavies are a special breed! Saw an old friend today who hadn't seen me since retiring the flat iron and said, "I like you're hair that way, it "suits" you". Kinda cool when we get unexpected feedback besides all the amazing kudos from this forum. BTW- loved your hair straight too in your earlier pic, kinda fun to play around with different styles for a change while growing out...

wavy, the headband pic is really cute. I don't know why I never think of wearing headbands. I think because most of them give me a headache but they sure look cute. Val, I have tons of those clips. I never think to use them & don't think I've tried them the way you did. I'm sure it wouldn't look as good on me as it does on you but it's something else on my list to try.

Do these clips pull your hair out? I thought i used them before and every time I tried to get them out i pulled a wad of hair out.
Ok, so you twist your hair on each side and then sort of let hair fall over on top of the clip??

[quote=wavy wonder;1237044] I twisted each side and then just clipped it back, my hair kinda falls over the side or just holds back. Hopefully you can see from the back shot. Sorry for the "post-nap" frizz ) I've never had problems with these clips pulling out hair, but like I said earlier I like the longer sizes for thick hair.

I love the way headbands look, but the only ones I like on me are the really thin plastic-y ones....but my hair is far too thick (and wild) for them.....I had 12 of those headbands.....and I broke all of them

MsG -- I can't wait until my hair is just a tad longer! I'll be able to use all my flexi-8's. I used one this morning, but it was rather precarious. By the time I got home from class, most of it had come out. Its just not long enough for a half-up quite yet. I love the twists in the back with the flexi-8.
Your flexi-8 do's look great.
I can't wear headbands cause my head is too small lol. I look funny. that's why I went with the scarf.
Oh and btw wavy, I keep meaning to tell you I love that purple sweater lol.

Have you tried the mini flexi-8s? That's what I used in the first pic where I just pulled a little bit back. They work well for small amounts of hair on the sides.
I've got a small head, too, but tons of hair, especially on top and being able to hold it with a headband always ends up giving me a headache. I'm sure I haven't found the right kind yet. The scarf you used was too cute!! I need to try me one of those.

I think they make the thin ones with an elastic band that goes around the bottom. I've never tried them so don't really know how they work but maybe they'd work for you.

wavy - that hairband is fantastic!
Here's some ways I sometimes wear my hair. Though my hair breaks quite easily with clips and hairbands, so I try to leave it loose as often as possible!
I usually keep my styles messy-ish, but these are messier than usual as I just quickly did them to take pictures. I know they're not very useful with people with shorter hair.. my hair's about APL.
Sorry if the pictures aren't too good. My husband was out and I had to take them myself... and I suck at it!
French braid.
French braid tucked under. I just push some bobby pins in randomly to secure it.
Side french braids. One on each side, sometimes I wear them like this, sometimes I braid to the ends.
This is something Pedaheh mentioned being from the CG book in another thread. I usually bring hair from underneath instead of under the ears though, and secure the hair with clips instead of a band. I like this because it covers my ears at the front (they stick out, lol).
(Rare decent(ish) photo of me, so I didn't bother covering my face up.)
Messy side buns. I just start low pigtails and then pull my hair half through the band again, if that makes sense... i'm not sure it does!
And fiiiiiinally a regular ponytail, except I like to wrap some hair around the hairband to hide it.
That's it, sorry for the long post!

I can't find my camera right now, but I did a bun to keep my wet hair up when leaving the gym and I'm really liking it now too. I think it's what I needed to keep up the anti-chop. I also re-discovered my octopus clip. Both of these are keeping my hair out of my face and still helping my curl.

Wavy, I love the purple sweater and the bejeweled headband.
And the straight hair! I was feeling the urge to straighten this weekend. How nice to have flexibility with your hair!

I came across this variation of a low bun while surfing the web. There is a video in the link. If I had longer hair, I would have done this today. There are other good updos on this blog for 4's but a skilled 2 might be able to make them work.
http://tiashauntee.blogspot.com/2009...tease-bun.html
Day 1 pincurl updo and day 2 worn down may work for a 2.
http://tiashauntee.blogspot.com/2010...-tutorial.html
The other hairstyles from the blog.

Euterpe-love the styles, especially messy side bun.
