What are you plopping with?

What do you use to plop? Fancy, made for plopping equipment, t-shirts, micro-fiber towels (where do you find super long ones)? I'm trying to figure out if I really need to invest $20 into a plopping towel like that Curl-ease one.

CurlyFreakx3 01-28-2010 06:20 PM

Just use a huge t-shirt, I'm sure you can find one somewhere.

turbie twist. I like it:) it was $5.00 At homegoods.

Backwards? huh?

1001waves 01-28-2010 09:06 PM

Microfiber turban. Not a turbie twist brand, but something similar.

NatureWaves 01-28-2010 10:17 PM

Flour sack towel.
I saw turbin type towels at Big Lots and was tempted to try one.

Froggilore 01-28-2010 10:35 PM

As soon as I find my camera I'll have the DH take some pics this weekend so you can see how to turbie twist backwards.

mythreebabes 01-28-2010 11:43 PM

I use a t-shirt and that seems to be doing fine, it would be interesting to see if something else worked better, not sure it would though.

mom2e3 01-29-2010 12:02 AM

Would love to see a video!

Long sleeved t-shirts and tie the arms on top of my head. Works like a charm.

finaleofseem 01-29-2010 08:11 AM

I use a short or long sleeved Tshirt, depending on which of my two "hair shirts" is closer.

Does that make anyone else think of medieval priests and their self-flagellation?

+1. I double up with them though for extra absorption. And they're cheap! Can't beat 5 bucks for a pack!

Sammy22 01-29-2010 09:34 AM

I want to see this. I love my turbie but my hair is too short to plop.

tinymandolin 01-29-2010 11:25 AM

When I worked in a cafe, we had American Apparel as our work shirts, and if you know American Aparrel, their cotton is extreeeeemely soft! So I have been using my old work shirts since they are so soft and stretchy. They are short sleeved, the only downside, but I've been making them work. Plopping is definitely helping, though, I'm glad I learned about it through this board!

cakj99 01-29-2010 09:35 PM

aquis microfiber towel from bed, bath and beyond. it works great.

jackieheartsyoouu 01-29-2010 10:36 PM

Floursack towels I bought at CVS :] they are huuuge and cover my hair better than my old hanes tshirts

hmmm... I might double mine up for better absorption thanks for the tip! :thumbright:
