First Week Wurly (pics)
I've been more or less CG (aside from the brushing part) for a year, but this week was the first week I've tried to actually wear it wurly, w/styling products. (I also started CO washing instead of my TJ's shampoos--and I should've done this a long time ago! My hair is so soft and shiny.)
Here are the various forms of my hair.
Brushed:
Deva styled. Explanation: I was looking at some Deva products in a salon when a stylist appeared and offered to wash & style my hair with them for free. Not terribly impressed w/these results....
This week! FSG w/spritzer of coconut oil & water (I combed the bangs to keep them from fluffing up):
Later this week: KCCC & JCCC. Apologies for the huge uncurly swaths in the back.
I like the results visually a lot. But I have a lot of reservations (viz. the "Woes of a Wavie" thread) about how it feels.... I don't like having stiff hair that I have to try really hard to avoid smooshing. And it is a lot of work, compared to just brushing. But it's fun, so I'm not stopping yet

You do have nice hair. I really like it curly, but I also really like it brushed. It is nice to have options.

Thank you! I think it clumped better because I put the FSG in earlier. (Which left a yucky white coating. I may have to brush my stylers in to prevent this.)

It is! I love that it can be almost curly without a curling iron. I have sometimes had the "bad fuzzy hair" syndrome wearing it brushed, but not since CO-washing.

Revelation: my homemade FSG promotes clumps because it itself is clumpy (sticky, goopy, whatever the right word is)!

I love your brushed out hair, it's so shiny! But what do you mean stiff hair? Are you scrunching out the crunch after your hair is completely dry? Your curls could be much clumpier if you do :]

Thank you!
Yes, I'm SOTC'ing, but it's still a bit dry--not soft. This may be a product issue, as it's less of a prob. w/FSG than it is with KCCC or AnGell.
