First time posting my hair!

Well, here it is:

(sorry for the crappy quality! I didn't have anybody around to take a picture for me, and my camera doesn't have a timer)

I clarified with Ion clarifying shampoo, conditioned with GVP Conditioning Balm. I combed with a wide-toothed comb in the shower, then when I was done showering, I finger combed/raked my soaking wet hair with my head upside down. I applied a little GVP Cond. Balm as a leave-in, then ORS Lock and Twist gel, then Aura Hypoallergenic Gel. I plopped in a t-shirt for about 10 minutes, then diffused on a low fan speed + high heat.

I couldn't get a decent pic of the back, sorry. As you can see my canopy is pretty much just "blah wavy"...right after I get done diffusing, my hair looks a lot better, but then seems to fall flat and the canopy loses some wave. The underneath layers are curly, and I don't have a problem with that part of my hair losing curl or anything.

If you've just started CG and your hair looks this good already you suck! Also, it's a crime you've been straitening those lovely waves. Love the hair and the cut.

pedaheh ---- I am thinking about starting the CG routine today! I have to go to the grocery store and see if they carry any cheap-o V05 or Suave conditioners first, though!

Alex and ped ---- Do you have any suggestions for me, for a curl activator? Or something to keep my canopy "oomphy"?

Also...I have a problem of ZERO volume at the roots. What can I do to combat this? I've tried blow drying with my head flipped upside down, but that DOES NOT work for my hair. For one, it doesn't really volumize at all, and secondly, my roots end up with these weird, kinky waves/patterns and it looks TERRIBLE! I bought some big (croco?) clips from Sally's, but I am unsure how to use them.
Very pretty!
Curl Pattern:2b Texture: medium

I hate you even more now. Anyway...
For volume, search for a thread called "I want Bigger". Also try clipping.

I haven't used curl enhancers yet. Here is alex's review of spiral solutions curl enhancing jelly.
http://thewavytales.blogspot.com/201...ing-jelly.html
Alex has tried a lot of curl enhancers and should be able to suggest a few.
Also many people use a product called duchess of curls. There is an ingredient for ingredient duplicate sold wholesale called simple aloe jelly. Some people suspect that this is in fact the same product, just relabled. If you are interested search for "wholesale coop" to find the thread. You must get your order in by the 13th?. Anyway, it is much cheaper this way.
By the way are you originally from Minnesota? Uffda, how did I know that?

Curl Enhancers--depends on where you can go and how much you want to spend. I have tons of reviews on my blog. There are a few you can get locally at Beauty Supply Stores and sometimes Ulta if you have one: Paul Mitchell Round Trip, Alagio Curl Balm, Mop C Curl Defining Cream, and ISO Bouncy Creme.

While these were o.k. I myself prefer some of the online options: Curl Junkie Coffee Coco Curl Creme Lite or regular (I use lite but if you have thicker medium hair you can try regular as well), Curl Junkie Smoothing Gellee, Jessicurl Rockin Ringlet's or Gelebration Spray (I only use the spray occasionally but many love RR), and of course my favorite Spiral Solutions Curl Enhancing Jelly.

You can also do the Aloe Jelly or Duchess of Curls as well.

Yay to those who know Uffda

I LOVE your hair! Can you give me a description of that cut because it looks like a shorter cut that might actually work on my hair. I'm going to the hairdresser end of next week and I may print your photo off and take it to her.

pedaheh ---- I live in Minnesota. I saw your location in your profile.... we're neighbors! LOL

I am going to hold out for some of the Spiral Solutions stuff!

runnerchicki ---- It's an asymetrical cut, with some layers. I wish I had a decent picture of my "straight" hair, so you could see the cut better, but I don't.

As long as I'm posting..... has anybody tried any of these Etsy products?

Botticelli Botanicals

There's a flaxseed gel that looks interesting. I know the seller has curly hair herself, and developed the products geared towards curly haired gals. BTW, this is her hair:

Oh, and another thing -- I am going to TRY and start CG today. I bought some V05 strawberry smoothie (or something to that effect) conditioner, to do my poo'der with!

BB makes great products, I love her FSG and her Smoothie conditioner. A lot of people make their own FSG, so if you are of that mind, it's alot cheaper than buying it.

Gekko, I bought some of the flaxseed gel from BB. I got it with a little agave nectar! Irish Spring scent...MMM!
I order it with honeyquat, agave, magnesium sulfate and get sun dried cotton as the scent.

Hope you like it!!

total guano... but I couldn't help it, the memories just came flooding back!
