Intermittant sulphate poos or protein tx

Hi! I'm pretty new so have been doing a lot of experimenting. Today, I didn't get so much root curl and my hair looked a little flat so I wasn't sure if I'm having some build-up and needed a good poo or if I need more protein.

I did a PT last weekend (egg). Used AO GPB two days last week and then I used Desert Essence Grape conditioner one day (great hair day) and then Natures Gates Asian pear (fab hair day). Today I used Trader Joes Tea Tree poo and conditioner and it is flat.

How much protein do I need? How do I know when it is time for more? Each treatment takes so long I can only do them on the weekend. Thanks!
It could be build up..but with what you're using I don't see a lot of things that could build up.

Maybe hard water issues..that happens.

It could be protein--I do P/T weekly and I use protein containing products daily. That gives me a little volume and I avoid the limp lifeless stuff.

You know I use the Nexxus Emergencee in the shower if I feel my hair needs protein. I low poo or cowash and then add Emergencee in and go about my business and then rinse and add conditioner and rinse. Works great if I'm too busy to do a full P/T with heat and all that during the week!

I'm not an expert, this is just a couple guesses.
AO GPB is not a very strong PT. Nexxus or K-pac are stronger. Aphogee is strongest. Perhaps you need a stronger treatment.
Also size matters with protien. The size of protein that is the easiest to get into the hair is hydrolized protien.

I know I've read some people do not like trader joe's tea tree condish. Unfortunately I can't remember why. If this only happens with the trader joe's, then I'd avoid it.

PT: ION effective care, IAgirl's gelatin PT
Low Poo: renpure (red), Ion swimmers
Thanks!

I will probably have to get the Nexxus Emergencee. I've been postponing that since I already spent so much. I've been using eggs but maybe that isn't strong enough.
If you have a sally beauty supply around, they have less expensive PT options. Ion Effective Care is a milder PT, 2-3$. Aphogee is a very strong option, just under 4$. I think they also have a generic K-pac that is CG.

Thanks! I will probably go get the Aphogree tonight or other one depending on what they have. So I low-poo-ed my hair the next day and it looked good again so maybe it was just the trader joe's conditioner.

Thanks again!!!

Sorry if the answer is obvious! Thanks!
