Let's talk shampoos...

I know there's a decent amount of you in the 2 boards that lowpoo pretty regularly, so I'd love to hear from you!

What shampoo(s) do you use? I'm looking for recommendations as I'm almost out of my current lowpoo and I'd like to try something else.

I've tried the Burt's Bees Pomengranate and Soy and HATED it. It tangled up my hair so badly!!

I'm currently using DevaCurl Lowpoo and it's OK. No real complaints about it...I'd just like to try something else for the heck of it!
I've been trying out the sample soap bars from kathymack. I LOVE LOVE LOVE them so far.

New Goals To restore my hair after dying it twice in two weeks. Learning more about products found in the stores to fit my tight budget. I'm still working on trying to grow out my hair.
Have tried 4 low poos, nature's gate lavendar/aloe (a little too harsh), burt's grapefruit beet, jessicurl gentle cleanse, and giovanni 50/50. Like all about the same, giovanni is the cheapest and seems to get pretty good reviews on the boards.

I like GTTT low-poo (shampoo for Gekko) and the Curl Junkie Cleansing Condish.

Fia 2cFi, fine texture, med porosity CG 5-29-09 * My hair loves protein! Currently using : DermOrganics Shampoo and IHM, G2B Kinkier Mousse, Re:Coil VMM, Anything Spiral Solutions! MO Sealing. Coconut Oil Pre-Poo, once a month Hard Water shampoo. Avoiding Glycerin in finishing products.

weird question but...is it hard to get the shampoo out of the Giovanni bottle? I've got the GTTT conditioner and I HATE using it because the bottle is made of hard plastic and the product doesn't come out easily. I know, I'm a weirdo.

Goober--I have read good things about the CJ Cleansing Condish...how close to a "shampoo" would you classify it as opposed to a conditioner? We've got really hard water and I think I need the extra cleansing properties to get out the yuckies from my hair...

You can get the Giovanni in liter pump bottles at website Massage Warehouse at good price.

I like the Deva pretty much, it makes my hair very smooth, but I never know if the smooth is the silicone and not washing out so it makes me nervous. Gonna go for the Giovanni 50/50 next time, most likely.

I have 4 daughters so really don't like small bottles of shampoo & conditioner, LOL.

I use the Giovanni Tea Tree or the Trader Joe's knockoff version....I have a dry scalp, and this helps some.

Lets see what have I used;

mastey traite shampoo - first low poo i every used cg. Really thick and creamy, smells like coconut. I haven't used in a while but worked well back then perhaps a bit harsh for what I like now. *shrugs* I did hate it in winter to try get it out of the bottle - had to let it sit under the hot water so it would come out, very thick!

Burts bee shine shampoo (with beet and something??)
It's really runny and clear, and very harsh (i think). It's good for those time when I feel like I need to shampoo but don't want SLS. Use it to Clarify in a sense.

Natures Gate Red tea and mandarin (? for coloured hair I think) LOVE LOVE LOVE the scent. Medium strength low poo, not to harsh for regular use but a little two harsh to use every second day. I like it once a week.

JC Cleansing cream Hated it. I had a sample bottle, and I didn't even finish that. I hate the slimy texture. It always left my hair feeling dirty and it always separated. Others swear by it but I just can't face re-trying it.

Pure Curls Clarifying poo It's clear and thicker then the burts bee and maybe a little less harsh. Good for getting rid of build up but to strong for regular use.

Curlicious Curls Cleansing Cream Technically according to curls it's not a low poo, but it felt very similar to many of the low poos I have tried. LOVE the cookie dough/vanilla scent. My friend kept commenting on it too. It's creamy in texture and a little goes a long way. If i use to much it really dries me out. Definitely is more of a low poo then a co-wash for me.

Out of all of them I liked the natures gate the most for a weekly co-wash, followed by the curls cleansing cream (yum!) and the curls clarifying as an occasional.

I think that is all I have tried. Hope I was somewhat helpful.

Aiming to grow hair to waist from buzz cut - slowly but surely.
oooo, thanks all! I'll have to see which of these I can find. According to the Naked Naturals website, their products are supposed to be in Walgreens...but of course they weren't at my local store. So I picked up some Yes to Tomatoes which is not completely CG, but it at least doesn't have SLS.

I'm pretty sure I remember seeing Nature's Gate at Whole Foods, but I won't be back that way for a while.
I got my NN at Target, it was in the same aisle as the YTC stuff. That's also where I get my YTCucumbers.

I absolutely LOVE Essential oil chamomile and honey lo poo. I got it in a swap but I think you can get it online for $7.00 - $8.00.
I have the liter bottles of Giovanni shampoo and conditioner, they're pretty nice but not remarkable. I think they smell good and the shampoo lathers well.
L'oreal Everpure sulphate-free shampoo is pretty good, it smells like tea and also lathers well, though i found the conditioner hard to squeeze out of the bottle (not sure why...) but the shampoo is easy, and it doesn't take a lot.
I agree Burt's Bees does not make very good hair products. Love their lip balm and other stuff though!
BSL 2Cmiii
normal/high porosity, normal elasticity.

I disliked the Everpure stuff. When I bought it (pre-CG) I noticed it had some silicones, and it coated my hair in a weird way. I have med-high porosity hair, and the Everpure shampoo/conditioner made my hair dry incredibly slowly.

I used it for a few days, then had to clarify to get rid of all the gunk.
