I agree you do need to know your chemicals. Most of the time if I don't recognize an ingredient I'll google it or go to
. I've learned from my research that even if a ingredient is from a plant you need to find out how it was derived from that plant because a lot of times they will use some pretty nasty chemicals to get the job done.Also, there are ingredients that are not required to be label because of trade secercy laws and they can simply be listed as fragrances in cosmetics. That is not the case in everything but it is something we should keep in mind if you are trying to get away from the harsher chemicals.
